Mixed experiences here. The merchandise is of high quality and my past selections worked out well…read more I like seeing the Daltile products in my home. However, my most recent experience did not lead to a purchase. This business operates by appointment only, and an employee has to look up the price of everything. This makes it hard to design on a budget. If you choose something and find out it's too expensive, you have to start over. I wanted to look at Daltile's merchandise and develop my vague design idea with the help of an employee. The employee seemed impatient with my idea and price questions. The employee's ideas weren't bad, but I wanted a completely different style and color scheme from the suggestion that kept coming my way. This business won't sell directly to the homeowner. If you want to create your own design, you might spend a couple of hours at Daltile looking at merchandise and getting an initial price. Then your contractor has to place the order. Then you as homeowner get a "discount." What's behind this cumbersome process? It makes sense if the contractor spends time creating the design, but not if you develop the design at Daltile. Probably the best use of this business model is to have the contractor do all of the designing and ordering. If you trust your sense of design, it's faster and cheaper to buy tile at a hardware store or online. For this project, I ended up spending two happy hours staring at tile at a big-box store and bought some tile there. Then I went to another tile business, where an employee helped me with the emerging design, and bought the rest. Everything I bought at both of those other places was in stock. As with all design work and product research, you'll want to determine the value of your time and skill, your contractor's time and skill, and the merchandise you are choosing.

Wow. Yes you do need an appointment -- but well worth the phone call…read more What a great experience with Mary. Tile selection was amazing. Mary helped guide my choices to create several cohesive looks. She also provided guidance, e.g., pointing out when tile finishes would make for a slippery floor. Pricing was also made available.

We were recently in the market for a new granite countertop to complete our kitchen remodel. I…read moresent out requests for bids from every local granite place I could find on Google. Granite Outlet was one of the first to respond with a quote. I had high hopes for them. Unfortunately, once we examined the market a little more, Granite Outlet proved to be high cost-wise, and worse, their service proved to be insulting. After receiving thier quote, we decided to stop in to look at the granite slabs and see if there were any potential cost savings we could find. We were met by a steely eyed manager who assigned us to one of their sales team members. The mustached rotund fellow who got assigned us couldn't have been less interested in us or our needs. Perhaps it was because we didn't look like the usual 55 year old housewife who looked to be their average customer. Perhaps it was because I decided to wear grubby basketball shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. Or perhaps it's because he doesn't have a modicum of customer service skill. After asking him to revise our quotes with several different granite colors, he plugged them into the computer, returned 10 minutes later, and thrust the printouts in our hands with no words, explanation, sales pitch, nothing. Then he waddled back to his "office" and left us there. Great. It was at that point I knew I would need to Yelp about the experience. With the housing economy dropping, these granite and kitchen remodel places should be showering their potential customers with jewels and pastries while offering slices of delicious pie, not making them feel uncomfortable and unwanted. We ended up going with Richstone Granite who proved to be friendly, cheap, and professional. Nice work Granite Outlet for a thoroughly putrid experience.

I regret wasting my time with Granite outlet. I saved over $700 with Richstone. Plus, I picked out my own slab :) Granite outlet's Santa Cecilia was not even close to Santa Cecilia that Richstone had. I seriously don't know how Granite outlet is making money with that type of material and service. I am so glad that I went with Richstone :)

A mixed experience: The reason we chose USA Cabinets was only because our contractor recommended…read morethem. I would not have chosen USACab on my own. However, after reading over their reviews, which are nearly all positive, I felt confident that despite the discount nature of the operation - it was going to be a good experience. So, we made an appointment with Burak to design the layout. The actual store is on the second floor of a near derelict office building, which is bit disconcerting - but cutting overhead and passing the savings to the customer is more important. Regardless, the solid reviews couldn't all be wrong. We met Burak, who worked with us and designed a kitchen that met all our needs. Satisfied, we placed our order for approx. 35 cabinets (that's a lot) - the price was great ($14.5K)! About a month later, our contractor called and said the cabinet order was on the way and they could start demo. Big day! The guys came, ripped it all out - soon the cabinets came...and it was the wrong order. We had huge boxes upon boxes stacked in my dining room that belonged to someone else. Burak was notified and about a week later, the wrong order was picked up _ the correct order was still missing. I'm hazy on the timeline, but it was at least 10 days for the correct order to arrive. During this time, I was informed that the delivery was coming "that day," only to have it not come...this scenario played out numerous times...all this time with NO kitchen. Burak, to his credit, was apologetic and sent us a $500 refund for the hassle. Eventually, the correct order arrived. Only problem, the order was missing items - the portion that would allow for the sink install among other things (i.e. a cabinet with no shelves, missing hardware, door fronts, etc), ...which held up the countertop. ...which held up the water. Burak ordered the missing items from his warehouse - 2 weeks later they came. And guess what... the order still wasn't complete! To say we were frustrated is an understatement. The items needed for the most crucial part - the sink - were still not on the pallet! I was furious - still am. After TWO more deliveries, all the parts finally arrived and our kitchen is now done & it looks fantastic. I realize this is a long review, but I want to be accurate and fair. I, along with my contractor, spoke with and text Burak on numerous occasions and he was genuinely apologetic, going as far to send me screen shots of his texts with his warehouse - and I believe - that his supply chain is broken, incompetent and frankly - negligent when it comes to customer service. We heard every excuse _ weather, COVID, short staffing, etc. I'm reasonable, but I also know when I'm being misled. They were just slinging nonsense to rationalize their bungling of our order...repeatedly! Unfortunately, Burak is the face of this issue. Here's the take-a-ways: The cabinets are awesome! They look great, excellent value, very sturdy - good hardware - soft close, etc. Should you consider this company? Not until Burak fixes his supplier issue - the stress simply isn't worth it (a planned 3 week project turned into 8 weeks). If you do - my strong advice: Do not start demo until your order has arrived and been inspected for accuracy.
