Had a late breakfast here with my husband and sister. I had the breakfast burrito and they both had the huevos rancheros sandwich and we all enjoyed our meals. My sister had a caramel macchiato that she thought was just average and my husband had a black coffee that didn't knock his socks off. I would absolutely come here again as there were some other sandwiches that sounded wonderful!

A local favorite. Great coffee drinks, breakfast, soups, salads and sandwiches. Everything made to order.

In Sheboygan Falls, so a little out of the way, but so worth the minimal effort to find it.

They may have been having a tough day, but…read moreeveryone was unhappy and moving very slowly, I got a vegetarian sandwich and the veggies that were on it were messy and kind of mushy. I like to patronize local, family-owned businesses when I can, but with Jimmy Johns down the street, I can't see myself going back to try them again.

First time to Ella's - new to the area...the place I was going to was closed and this was nearby…read more I went in around 3:15 pm and was the only person there. I ordered the chicken salad signature sandwich, stuffed green pepper soup, and a brownie with walnuts. The service was fast, of course, since I was the only person there. The worker was nice and friendly but I'm sure it helped that I was friendly and very talkative. The prices were decent and the food tasted very fresh. However, I should note that the food was lacking flavors...I added salt and pepper and that in itself helped tremendously. I also added a little mustard and some mild banana peppers for crunch and a zing and that really made the sandwich great. The worker knew I had never been there before and didn't ask me if I wanted to add anything to the sandwich so I'm not sure if that was an option. The soup was good but again, needed salt and a little pepper. The brownie was good but tasted like sugar and wasn't as gooey as I had hoped. Overall, the food was pretty good but it could benefit from some much needed spices. Maybe they do that deliberately because everyone has different tastes and there are so many food allergies these days. I don't know. I took it home and doctored it up. The ingredients were very fresh, though, and the bread was very soft which was a big plus. Also, the chicken in the chicken salad was nice - not too soft but not hard - but the pieces were really big. I think a little too big. It was hard to eat the sandwich without the chicken falling out and one piece of the chicken was like 2-3 bites for me. I think I'd go there again just to try the Reuben sandwich. Overall, a nice little shop where the food is definitely better than "fast food."

Unfortunately, the Woodlake Shopping Center…read moreis being remodeled, and the coffee shop has been temporarily set up inside the Kohler Chocolate Store. They did an okay job on the London Fog Latte. The main limitations were the space and setup. There were only a few small tables available, and they did not have ceramic mugs for serving. It felt a bit cramped and less like a true coffee shop experience. I would love to come back and try it again once it is back in its own dedicated space.

Awakening has an array of espresso beverages and coffee as well as smoothies and a few baked items. My dining companion and I both opted for one of their seasonal specialty lattes. They have milk alternatives, so we were both able to get our desired almond milk for our lattes. Their espresso is pitch perfect. I can not overstate this. Seriously, one of the best lattes I have had the pleasure of consuming in the entire state of Wisconsin right here in little ol' Kohler. That alone made the drive from Milwaukee worth it. Their bites are limited to bakery sweet treats. I'm not much for sweet in the morning but was pleased to find that the grocery store where Awakening is situated has lovely savory breakfast options. As I mentioned, they are situated inside a grocery store but don't let that deter you. The grocery store itself is charming and they have a lovely dining area in the middle of the store where you can enjoy your coffee and bites. Our barista was absolutely lovely. They were the one who clued us in on the delicious breakfast bites that we could get at the adjacent deli in addition to serving up such a delicious latte. Get to it!

We went at 3 pm midweek and found they serve breakfast all day. It wasn't fantastic, but it was as good as I might expect from a Midwest "family" restaurant. It was very clean, the waitress was very friendly, it was bright and updated. The food came fast. I had eggs over easy, dry English muffin (they don't have homemade biscuits),bacon, and "American" potatoes (sliced, fried). Hubby had Wisconsin cheese omelet, hash browns, pancake, Everything arrived exactly as ordered (even the English muffin unbuttered!) The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon partly crisp/chewy, English muffin was better than most and did come dry and the potatoes were more greasy than I'd hoped but nicely crisped and still soft-about like my husband's hash browns- but I think better. (I ate every last piece). Hubby's omelette was nicely cooked with cheese melted- but boring! Pancake was good and hash browns were nicely crisped and about what you'd expect from a family restaurant. Up to pay at register, hubby spied desert case and waitress said the peanut butter/cheesecake pie on chocolate graham crust was "really good"!!! We sat back down and and she brought it quickly with two forks:) It probably is delicious to many people, guessing it is a mixture of cool whip and cream cheese and Jif, topped with box pudding and chocolate syrup on graham cracker mix crust, but this isn't my kind of thing. Would I go again. Sure. Am I excited to go again? Not really. But it met my expectations, and I wasn't sorry we went. I'm giving 4 stars because for what it was, it was fine. While not fun, spunky, or delicious, nothing was bad, grumpy, dirty, off-tasting, poorly cooked, etc. Plus, it needs a little boost.
