The dentist I've been going to was going to retire, and it was right around the time and through a mutual acquaintance at our workplace (we each other met at work), heard of Dr. Zhen Yang's practice on the side of Sam Houston Tollway West, northbound past Bellaire Blvd. Back then, Dr. Yang was the only full time doctor (that we remember seeing), and his wife Dr. Tang, who is also a dentist, was only there some of the time. Immediately I can already notice that Dr. Yang's clinic is taking a more modernized approach in their environment and decoration. The waiting room is pretty spacious and has a TV there for patients to watch while they wait. Whenever I go to doctor's offices, even though I know most of the time I am there for my annual cleaning, feels nice to watch something relaxing and educational at the same time one TV, and Dr. Yang often (not all the time) had nature films playing, which I something I enjoy watching while I wait. When we first started seeing Dr. Yang, we immediately took notice that while he has patients wait in the chairs, there were some movies available to watch on the swiveling monitors he had around the chairs and these were movies that were available on their local network. Perhaps they had just started their practice, we had to do quite a bit of sitting and wait time, and the movies helped. I still remembered it being quite funny that both my wife and I, despite being in different rooms, both chose to watch the movie "The Island (Ewon McGregor and Scarlett Johanssen)" while we waited and both couldn't get through the movie before our services had to start. P. S. We ended up buying the DVD because we both loved the movie so much. The clinic also eventually moved onto showing Netflix to the patients on these monitors* Dr. Yang and Dr. Tang both look to still be in their prime. Both are professional, friendly, attentive and thorough in their examinations. We felt comfortable coming to their clinic after a few visits. Although we were there mostly for our twice a year cleaning and checkups, and before they hired more oral hygienists, Dr. Tang would also chip in to help with the deep cleaning, which she did for my wife a few times, we also stopped in for other reasons. My wife removing a wisdom tooth, I had to get some fillings done on my teeth, which amazingly, after getting them done back in 2010, they are still on and did not once fell off and needed to be redone, and getting nightguards made because I grind my teeth during my sleep (again, well made quality night guards that even after 5 years, even though I put some dents in it, still managed to hold up). That co-worker that had told us to come to check out the clinic moved on to other dental practices after a few visits. But we decided to stay with Dr. Yang's practice because of his craft and dedication to his work. The clinic now has more Doctors and hygienists on board and Dr. Tang has retreated to be more supporting administrative role for the clinic. Dr. Yang really only work during the week days while the other Doctors work the weekends. The clinic can be extremely busy and hard to book. So if you are booking appointments for deep cleaning, you have to book approximately 3 months of your preferred month/date. That's right, can't book too early and not too late. The clinic accepts most dental insurance and accepts cash, and credit cards as form of payment. Give Dr. Yang's clinic a try, you might starting to look forward to your dental visits.

I just went back for my bottom two teeth chipped out on corners then even Dental Floss couldn't through it. I've spent a lot of time in many dental chairs. I am a grumpy old senior citizen now. For the past year, I have had a loose front lower tooth that cause pain and problems biting /chewing food. I went to many experts and dental schools. For the price of a new car they would help me. I finally got dental insurance that helps and Liberty/Devoted sent me to the heart of Chinatown to Dr. Chen. Not so easy to find. The address says Bellaire Blvd. But they are really closer to Corporate Drive just above East Wall & Tofu Village Restaurants. Yes 2nd floor and stairs. It is a busy shopping center but parking is free. You cannot get or fill out their forms on-line. Allow some time before your appointment for that. Even with those gripes the care with Dr. Chen is 5 stars. I brought my X rays and she did a complete exam. It was just supposed to be a cleaning. And where other places might have you in for lots of visits so they can charge you more... she evaluated and did the deep perio cleaning I needed right away. She made some adjustments, bonded the loose tooth and made it lower to relieve pain and problems with my bite. All in one 90-minute visit! Two prescriptions and I was on my way! Why couldn't anyone else do that? Both her and her assistant Caroline were gentle, caring and compassionate. They always gave me a moment to relax when I needed it. I also met Dr. Will Wang during my visit. I know I need to find some permanent solutions, but this was my best dental visit ever. She cares about her patients first and it shows I shouldn't write such a great review because then she will be harder to get appointments with. But if you are nervous about getting dental work done, and want it done right the first time, save yourself some grief and just go see Dr. Chen. You will be glad you did. 2 days later, I am eating normally. I had not realized what pain and trouble my dental problems had been giving me. I am so relieved now. Less grumpy too.

This time we…read morejust need a general clean, so we just booked a new Doctor Dr. Wang who was available that day, before cleaning, my husband was asked to take a X-Ray with 10 images, though the X-Ray was done in January by Dr. Chen, my husband thought maybe Dr. Wang couldn't access Dr. Chen's records, so he didn't say anything even he was not happy; the wield thing happened after the cleaning, the tech required my husband to re-take the X-Ray again, my husband asked why, the tech said it was required by Dr. Wang, by this time, my husband was very unhappy already, as everybody knows that X-Ray is harmful to people, especially it was unnecessary at all since the cleaning already done ! My husband still cooperated and 2 more X-Rays were taken at exactly the same location! However, the tech asked to take another X-Ray, maybe the previous X-Ray images were not satisfied? (she didn't explain and just insisted to re-take again!) My husband was upset since 3 total X-Rays were already taken (including before cleaning and after), he said he didn't want to take another X-Ray, maybe he increased his voice a little, all of a sudden, Dr. Wang rushed out of his office and yelled at my husband! This was really unacceptable!!! The tech's skill is bad, the dentist has bad manner and they don't care about their patients!

I ventured out to the other side of Dun Huang Plaza. I wandered into a dentist office next to Cafe 101 at building A. I remember my first memorable impression as I was greeted by a friendly hygienist named Jennie. She understood my needs and condition. In a few days, I met Dr. Liu on my initial consultation. I felt very comfortable with their practice in patient care. In the next few months, my immediate need was met to replace the fallen crown. I appreciate how this husband-wife team took good care of me. They worked with my insurance and prepared a timely treatment plan. Also, their office hours work with my schedule - dentist is available from Monday thru Saturday. I could finally get my dental implant done on my day off. One big plus here is simple staffing. Unlike other dental offices I've been to, everyone knows everything or someone would get back to me promptly. Because they are highly efficient, my wait time is usually less than 2 minutes (before I could turn a page on any newspaper). I see their customers are Asian. I currently had braces that I had on for years that were done when in Mexico. I was told that I could take my braces off that day & it would cost me $600 to get a retainer plus take my braces off. I paid the $600 & that's when everything went south. I was 1st told I had to come back on Tuesday to get my retainers or my teeth would shift. I work clear across this city in Webster Tx. I waited for a call on Tuesday no call. I called the next day (Wednesday) only to hear that the tech never went to work that day to make my retainers. By the way through this entire process I never got 1 call after paying $600. I called again on Thursday still no retainer. I ended up getting them Friday & by then my teeth shifted which was the offices fault. I was given excuses & empty promises. The next thing that happened was the retainers of course didn't fit & they were so poorly made. The retainer had air bubbles in it & the bottom never fit on my back teeth. The older gentleman who helped me make new retainers stated "He'd take care of me & my new retainers". So I assumed it would get squared away, but nope weeks later still no retainer & not even 1 phone call. I had to call only to hear oh everything is on back order by Tatianna at the front desk who is rude. Front desk workers need to learn to listen to the patients then response & to not cut them off while talking which is rude. I would never go back here. I told them to not even worry about me & that next retainer they made because I'm totally done with this place. I've never been to a dental office like this before in my life.
