As soon as he saw me he knew I needed my jaw reattached. He assured me he can help and immediately scheduled me for surgery. The office staff in both offices have been very attentive to my needs. Brenda is a rockstar and has the best communication. Dr. Swanson and his team shed light during a dark time in my life. My jaw is reattached and I couldn't be more thankful!

After waiting for 20 minutes Dr. Glyman looked at my teeth and said all 4 would be easy then he lead me out so I could make my appointment with Mina (I think that's her name). He did not explain anything about the procedure, Mina was definitely the most helpful and charismatic. I was very nervous for my surgery since I had never been on general anesthesia and Mina was kinda enough to easy my nerves. She also did a really good job at rescheduling me last minute since I had to cancel. The day of surgery I had to wait almost an hour to be seen. Dr. Swanson was nice and he made small talk before I knocked out, I remember him pulling on 2 of my teeth and being a little bit uncomfortable. It was all very fast and I felt they were rushing, no one explained to me what they were doing or how it would take place... Post surgery was very smooth and I was not in much pain, just discomfort. Mina called by the end of the day to check on me, thank you! For the price I expected more professionalism and not just one more patient they needed to see to cash my check. Guess that's how it is in America. The office is kind of hard to find

While Italy and the world explodes in coronavirus fever, Broadway goes dark, lights on the Vegas…read morestrip dim and we wallow in thoughts of life-and-death, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Mark Glyman, risks his life and that of his amazing staff, to stay open during a pandemic for patients at Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates of Nevada. Dr. Glyman, has been a surgical magician for my twin teenagers with autism, and respectfully, I won't give away the tricks of his trade. I will say, that immediately after the operation of one twin, Dr. Glyman reached out in the waiting area of Southern Hills Hospital, with an update. He speaks fast, but with a kind of subdued magic that is warm, controlled and exquisite, the sort of thing you get from a good string trio. While Dr. Glyman updates me on the success of my son's surgery, I watch the screen behind his head roll with 14 more patients. I think, wow, unusual to take such time with a PARENT of his patient. I ask him, "Are you a workaholic?" Dr. Glyman proceeds to tell me that he has never taken a sick day in his life. He even worked after he smashed his face in a ski accident. Talk about dedication and the best part is...my sons with autism trust and adore him. Dr. Glyman understands special need idiosyncrasies in a way many doctors do not -- the reason my sons nicknamed his Saint Mark. He even gave an opinion about small cavities in one kid's mouth -- way above and beyond his role as a surgeon. Dr. Mark Glyman's board-certified surgical skill and deep care for his patients are molded into that high form we call genius. Lucky for us, Saint Mark has dropped down into our mortal world like a shooting star. He is always there, unchanged, waiting to care for you, as is his stellar staff. The icing on the cake is that Saint Mark's skilled hands flew off the books at Harvard Medical School and UCLA Dental School and his wings landed him in a residency for general and maxillofacial surgery at Boston's infamous Massachusetts General Hospital. That explains all the initials after his name...MD, DDS, FACS. What more could you ask for in a surgeon? -Blessed Mom of Twins with Autism

It all started when a dentist at Absolute Dental in Las Vegas Nevada told me that the pain I was…read morefeeling was due to a cracked and infected molar (i.e., number 31). Furthermore, I was told that the only practical remedy was to have it removed. I made an appointment to see their oral surgeon (Dr. Kim). Before being discharged, I was prescribed ibuprofen and amoxicillin. When I returned for my appointment with Dr. Kim, he refused to perform the procedure. I was perplexed. Whatever reservations he had were never quite clear to me. Instead, I was referred to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates of Nevada; where I managed to secure a consultation with Dr. Eric Swanson. During the initial consultation, I found Dr. Swanson to be congenial. Combined with his Harvard credentials, I felt as though I was in good hands. Regarding his plan, he told me he would anesthetize the area with a local injection of Novocain. I was surprised and relieved. Based on the histrionics I witnessed from the referring surgeon at Absolute Dental, I was expecting something more complicated. When I mentioned that I take a blood thinner, Dr. Swanson said that he might suture the wound to facilitate healing. The tooth in question had a gold crown, which he promised to preserve. Finally, he advised me to start taking an antibiotic several days prior to the procedure. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Swanson dispensed with the preliminary application of a topical anesthetic. Instead, he went straight for the needle. That didn't bother me, because I have always believed that if you can endure those dreaded moments, the worst is over. Then, he and his two assistants left the room, promising to return in about five minutes. There is no hurry, I thought to myself. I wanted the Novocain to have enough time to take effect. When the team returned, they took up positions around my chair. Dr. Swanson said that he would be behind me. At this point, Dr. Swanson still had not made any effort to ensure that I was sufficiently numb. He never did. Instead, he inserted a bite block. I figured this was it. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. The first thirty to forty-five seconds went well. Although there was a modicum of discomfort, it was manageable. Unfortunately, that didn't last! Seconds later, I was crying out in pain! In retrospect, my guess is that the doctor had finished pulling the crown and was digging in my jaw for remnants of the root. With each thrust of the implement, I let out a scream! What I couldn't comprehend was the fact that, despite my obvious distress, he wouldn't stop! It might have been a good time for him to pause and reconsider his protocol. Perhaps administering more Novocain was warranted. Eventually, the doctor asked me whether I was doing okay. I tried to respond, but I still had the bite block in my mouth and could only howl incoherently. Oddly, he did not remove the block so that I could speak clearly. Instead, the torture continued for several more minutes before he announced that the operation was done. In the 7+ decades I have been on this earth, I have had several teeth pulled. I have never felt pain. In fact, I seldom felt anything! This was the most traumatic encounter in a doctor's office that I've ever had. Typically, my practitioners have always ensured that I was sufficiently anesthetized before proceeding. Dr. Swanson did not. Even after he discovered that the anesthesia was not effective, he did nothing to remediate the situation. I'm not sure what compelled him, but his actions were unconscionable. Why he thought it was appropriate to proceed, despite my obvious distress is inexplicable. One might wonder why I didn't offer more resistance. Why didn't I make a greater effort to halt the proceedings? Well, the fact of the matter is that I am disabled. The neurological disorder that I have affects my motor control. Consequently, I require assistance when walking and find it difficult using my hands effectively. Although I was not physically restrained, I felt trapped. I feared that any sudden movement could risk injury. Attempting to grab the doctor's arm while he had unknown implements in my mouth could have been disastrous. There seemed to be no avenue of escape. I use a walker to walk and maintain balance. If I had tried getting out of the chair, I would have ended up on the floor. The doctor had already ignored obvious indications that I was in distress. I was at their mercy and out of options. I feel that the doctor's performance fell short of a reasonable standard of care; resulting in the infliction of undue pain and suffering. In good conscience, I cannot recommend Dr. Swanson.

I paid $130 for a consultation and paid for Uber there and back, just for my actual consultation with Dr. Radmal to last less than 3 minutes. He literally asked me to smile, looked at my teeth, saw that I still had braces and basically immediately said no to gum contouring. I am not mad that he told me no. If I can't get gum contouring until my braces are done, then okay. My problem is why am I paying $130 for a consultation just to be rushed and barely have anything explained to me? I was confused about the whole process with my braces, gum contouring and future crown, so I asked him to explain it again. Instead, he seemed so impatient. I was trying to clarify what he meant and he immediately went "No, no, I never said that. I never said that " I wasn't accusing him of anything. I was literally confused and trying to understand my own dental treatment. Then he asked if I had any other questions and left. The whole interaction felt so rushed. I also asked how much the procedure would cost and he told me around $3,000 to $5,000 and said "It's not cheap" The way he said it came off so judgmental and unnecessary. I asked for the price. I did not ask for his opinion on whether or not I could afford it. The only nice person there was the dental assistant. The front desk experience made everything even worse. I was already confused after the consultation and was asking about my other dental office since they're connected to the same company. While I was talking, I literally saw the girl at the front desk roll her eyes, glare at me and then smile at me afterward like nothing happened. So unprofessional and honestly just rude. I even called Beyond Dental afterward because I was so unhappy with the consultation and asked for a refund. I was told they were sorry and that they would call me back. They never did. I had to call them back myself just to be told they couldn't do anything. Edit: I would never recommend Dr. Radmal.
