I had a tooth that was giving me SO MUCH PAIN that I had no other choice rather than to get it checked out. Christy sent me a text after I left a voicemail and was BEYOND helpful and booked me the next available appointment. When I arrived, she was just as sweet in person as she was via text. She constantly answered all of my questions via text and was so patient with me. Dr. Raiyn was such a nice guy and extremely professional. Explained everything that needed to happen and walked me through what needed to be done. Really made me feel at ease. I was not expecting that. Due to my neglect, the tooth wasn't save-able and needed to be extracted. I was TERRIFIED. Kelsi, the assistant could tell I was worried and calmed my nerves and told me that she recently had to get a tooth extracted, and answered all of my questions, and was so nice! All in all, this place was amazing from start to now. I'm definitely not finished with the work I need done, but I will be coming regularly and keeping up on my dental hygiene knowing that I have a great place to go! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was one of the most frightening and upsetting dental experiences I have ever had…read more I went to Dr. Sayed K. Raiyn to have a lower-left wisdom tooth removed. He was extremely confident and made it sound like a quick and simple extraction. After three numbing injections, he tried taking X-rays several times, but the images did not clearly show my entire tooth or roots. He even commented that the tooth was so far back that it was "in the back of my throat." Despite this, he still decided to proceed. What followed was extremely traumatic. For 1 hour, he and his assistant struggled with my tooth. I felt intense pressure on my jaw, lips, and face while they tried repeatedly to loosen it. His assistant had to hold my jaw while they continued. I was terrified and could see that things were not going as expected. Then Dr. Raiyn told me he was tired and his arm needed a break. He could not finish the extraction and sent me home on a Friday afternoon with a partially extracted tooth, bleeding gums, pain, and instructions to wait until Monday for an oral surgeon. At that moment, I was scared and felt completely helpless. I could not understand why this procedure had been started if he was not prepared to finish it. What made the experience even more disturbing was how little confidence I had in the situation by that point. I had told him this was my first extraction, and he seemed genuinely surprised and asked whether I had never had an extraction before. As the dentist performing the procedure, I expected him to fully understand the situation and the risks before starting. I also later requested copies of my own dental records and X-rays from Dr. Raiyn's office. Despite contacting the office, I never received them. I left this experience feeling frightened, hurt, and completely let down. The issue was not simply that the extraction was difficult. My concern is that the procedure was started despite the tooth not being fully visible on the X-rays, I was not adequately prepared for the possibility that it could not be completed, and I was ultimately sent home to deal with the consequences over the weekend. I would not return to this office, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Raiyn.

I don't like the sounds of the drill, I don't like the feeling of instruments and hands all up in my mouth, and I always have this odd phobia of drowning in the dentist chair... Not to mention, I have never been able to get numb for fillings..so every dentist visit was a painful one. That all changed today. I was prescribed xanax to take before my appointment, and I went from being so nervous I almost puked, to calm and ready to face the day. It didn't make me feel "out of it", just made my intense fears dissipate. I hear some people react quite strongly to these meds, but me personally I had no problems resuming normal daily activities after my visit, which was nice. I wish I had known about sedation dentistry years ago! I also let them know that I have had a hard time getting numb in the past, so they made sure to get me good and numb. They even numbed my gums with gel before the needle so I didnt even feel the needle! At all! Oh my goodness what a difference being numb makes!!! I still felt the vibrations and some pressure, and just a tiny tiny bit of pain on a really deep filling, but nothing even close to unbearable. The xanax really helped a lot here too. There was still some anxiety once the drill came into play, but nothing I couldn't handle. Whereas normally I would be internally freaking out (i say internally because when I reach that level of nervousness I just freeze, so I actually appear very calm) Dr shields and his team are amazing at listening to my concerns and addressing them. Stacie was in the room with him today and she is the sweetest!!! Everyone I have encountered so far has been kind, gentle, and extremely competent. I have never had such a positive experience getting fillings done! Going to the dentist will never be fave pastime of mine, but I can honestly say I won't be dreading it quite as much anymore.
