It has the all the usual Tesco stuff: a sandwich section by the door for lunchtimers in a hurry, a deli counter, a bakery (I recommend the walnut bread), a whole aisle of alcohol and a CD/DVD corner. There was nothing we could do right with this woman. We were perfectly friendly but she couldn't be bothered. We were in a great mood (getting ready to cook dinner for friends), but she didn't even so much as look at us unless it was to glare. Not impressed. At least in Asda they say hello.

That being said, even during the lockdowns, it is open fairly late and is really only one of two stores on this street that can be considered an actual supermarket. Enormous though it is- by UK standards- it isn't hard to get around inside and has two floors to keep things simple and easy to navigate, as well as an underground parking garage for those who dare to drive on these streets. Food and seasonal grocery-related items are on the bottom; clothing, toiletries, cookware, toys, and everything else are on the top. The prices here are very good for most items, and the quality ranges from, "I wouldn't trust this," to "I'll take ten!" The variety alone makes it worth the trip and the rather long checkout queues, as you're likely to be able to find everything you need in one go. Just don't expect a whole lot from the staff, as most will give you a lukewarm response, at best. If for any reason, you don't find what you're looking for, there are two other- smaller- grocery stores just a few minutes' walk down the street. And personally, I rather like walking here. Streatham High Street has a nice homey vibe to it.

There is a good clothing section (although as ever it has a much wider range of girl's and women's clothes than men's and boy's. In addition it has a large homeware / toy / party section. My only issue with this store is that despite a number of designated spaces there are hardly ever any Child and Family parking spaces. This leads me to the dilemma of whether I leave my toddler or baby in the trolley to potentially get run over while I put the other in the car. Many spaces are abused by people with no children and the store appears to do nothing about this. Prices at this store are good. There is also a petrol station which is competitively priced
