Big Belly Deli makes some delicious sandwiches! I got the Girl's Dream, and it was top notch! The vibe here is kind of a dive / hidden gem. The inside of the deli is really dark, and they have this little dimly lit lounge with booths tables and maps of Dolly Sods on the wall. The man running the restaurant was very friendly and chatty. He was training someone new, and she was doing a great job. Both my husband and I were very pleased with our sandwiches here! I would recommend stopping here when traveling to Davis. Also, most restaurants and eateries were closed on Monday in Davis and Thomas, so we appreciated that Big Belly was open!

Trying times still during Covid. The service was fantastic and the food was good as well. There is plenty of space to sit down at a table inside. The food was served in to-go packaging, so you can sit inside at a table to eat or take it with you and maybe find a place outside to eat if you like. The prices are reasonable. It's worth a stop if you are in the mood for a good sandwich while driving through Davis. There was just 2 of us and our sandwiches were ready in about 5-8 minutes after ordering. They are using clear plastic shower curtains to protect their employees. Whatever decision a business makes to help their staff feel safer during this time is not a bad thing.

A great place to pick up a takeout sandwich. Eat-in space is dark and lacking in ambience, sort of a hippie dive bar feel. . The menu is extensive with several interesting vegetarian options. I tried the vegetarian reuben and my partner tried the hummus wrap. Both were excellent! Staff are friendly and helpful about local events and opportunities. We waited close to 30 minutes for the sandwiches, but if you're not in a hurry, is definitely worth the wait.

It was a nice morning with still a dusting of snow on the ground so I went for a walk in Davis, and since I was hungry I thought to stop in at the Big Belly Deli. This was not my first visit. I got a tasty sandwich 3 years ago or so. Today's breakfast sandwich, the BLT was just as good! Joey welcomed me as soon as I entered, took my order and went right to making my sandwich. April who also works there was super friendly and we had a very interesting chat. This is a really neat little place and it is the perfect spot for stopping in to get a rapidly well-made sandwich. I'll certainly come again.

The coleslaw was finely shredded, which was a pleasant surprise, and dressed in the regular mayo sauce. The tartar sauce was the only thing mediocre seeing as it wasn't that tangy or acidic, it was pickley, which I like pickles, but I want my tartar sauce not that pickley. Now, as for why I only give it two stars. I came in with a group of 12 for lunch at about 1. I know this can be a bit overwhelming, but I don't think they had properly trained for scenarios like this. We talked to a waitress/host and she had said that they are doing tables in sections, which we were like, "We understand and would be ok if you had to split us into two tables," but I just don't think she knew what to do. So, she asked her manager, I presume, and they ended up putting tables together to accommodate us, and turned it into a teaching moment saying, "Anyone can do this" in reference to putting available tables together to seat a large group such as ours. After we were seated and had gotten our menus we put our drink orders in, which came out within a fair amount of minutes. We put in our food orders about 5 minutes later. Nothing too customized, just normal cheese, no cheese, sub regular fries for sweet potato. She took our order and never came back to our table until the food came out. This was a good 50+ minutes. I understand food for a large group can have a long wait time, but part of the service industry is giving updates and refreshing drinks. Other tables had came and went during the time we were there, it was quite bothersome. We had someone go up and ask about our food since we were all hungry and a bit ticked off. Soon after that we got what we ordered. Well, mostly at least. One person had ordered the portobello sandwich and that comes with sweet potato fries according to the menu. They came with regular for her plate. Not that she complained, the regular turned out more crispy than the sweet potato. It would have been nice to know in advance that they would have to sub it if they had ran out of sweet potato fries however. We asked for refills and once we got them she brought ketchup, asked if we needed anything else, and left us alone again. Our server along with seeming new, also had a tired/I don't like my job vibe the whole time. At the end of our meal, we got the check with 18% gratuity already set as the tip since we had a large group. The food was good, but I don't think we'll be back for our next big family trip up here. It seemed like they did best with smaller groups 2-4. Just make note if you're coming up here with a large party.

I would give this place six stars if I could. I can't believe I've driven by it for years,…read morepossibly decades, and never knew what was inside. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've stopped her to get gas before and knew about the liquor store but had no idea about the pepperoni roll bakery hidden inside! Pepperoni rolls are near and dear to my heart. They are comfort food from home. I have rarely found them outside of West Virginia so when I visit I pretty much eat a pepperoni roll diet for a week. The pepperoni rolls here are a bit different. They are soft and light and fluffy. Most of the ones I find are made from a thicker bread that's heavy and dense. I find the pepperoni and cheese ratio in these to be perfect. Not too much of any one ingredient. I tried the special of the week which was Crab Rangoon and I wish I didn't--not that it was bad, it just wasn't a real pepperoni roll. Then of course I got a regular one and a jalapeño one. My son got one regular and as we at them in the car he asked if he could have another so I gave him my card and back he went. They were about $4.50 each. Later when we came back through town after going to Blackwater and Douglas Falls, he asked for yet another and of course I obliged. I took mine to Blackwater Falls and ate it there. Nothing like enjoying West Virginia's most iconic waterfall while eating its most iconic food (sorry WV Slaw dogs). The liquor store here is convenient. Prices were only slightly marked up except on one bottle. The distillery and other stores have it for $65-69 and they had it for $110. I would have purchased it for the real retail price. They had a great selection of WV bourbons which was very nice. We will definitely be stopping here now each time we pass through, especially since Hellbenders closed.

The town itself has that perfect mountain-arts vibe--historic brick buildings, quiet streets, and a steady flow of hikers, skiers, and road-trippers--and TipTop fits right into that rhythm. The shop is cozy and unpretentious, the kind of café where the warmth from the espresso machine and the conversations around the room cut through the mountain chill. It feels local in the best way--welcoming without trying too hard. But the real highlight is the coffee. The cup I had was excellent: clean, balanced, and clearly prepared by people who care about the craft. It had the kind of clarity and sweetness that stands out, especially when you're used to road-trip coffee stops that are just "good enough." This was genuinely memorable. If you're passing through the Canaan Valley / Blackwater Falls area or chasing powder at Timberline or Canaan Valley Resort, TipTop Coffee is absolutely worth the stop.
