Cat Hollow Pool

Cat Hollow Pool

This review will be boring. It might be useful, but I doubt it will be funny or cool. Steady…read morecompetence is not exciting, and this pool is competent, reliable, and easy to use. Cat Hollow Pool is like the San Antonio Spurs of neighborhood pools. It's not the newest or the flashiest pool. It's just a damn good pool. Cat Hollow Pool has clean cool water. It's not dirty or over-chemed. It is seldom over-crowded. The grounds are well-maintained. Open hours are very generous (open until 9 pm almost every night), and the pool is well-staffed with a crew of lifeguards. My toddler enjoys the shaded kiddie area, and my little guys enjoy the deeper sections and small water slides. The annual pass for a family is a bargain, Perhaps it would be nice if Cat Hollow had a bigger, windier water slide or a zero-entry pool for the kids. Maybe a few more splash pad features or a reliable snack and drink machine would be cool. That said, as far as water-filled holes in the ground go, this one is pretty darn good.

Also, we usually have an issue with crowds but we really didn't notice that here. The two slides they have are awesome, the kids love it here. I love the fact that they have a shallow area for the little ones. Unfortunately, arm floaties are not allowed but they have life vests available which is AWESOME!

This place is absolutely amazing. First of all, there is something for every age group and swim…read moreskill - a wading area for littles, a 2-4 foot deep area for medium-range swimmers, and a 6+ foot deep area for strong swimmers and adults. There's also a pretty cool slide and one of those "walk on floats across the water" things. My kids stayed for almost 2 hours and the only reason we left then is because they were starting to turn red from their sunscreen wearing off. The lifeguards were also great. We have gotten so used to overbearing lifeguards this summer who blow their whistles and yell nonstop and this was a nice change of pace. They were very patient with everyone, using normal speaking voices and only using whistles if someone was doing something dangerous. It made for a very relaxing and fun experience. The entry for kids is about standard ($3 each) and a bit higher than usual for adults ($6 each) but one of the benefits of this is that the place wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a good time without feeling cramped. We'll definitely be coming back again, kids and adults had a great time.

The staff at the front friendly and admission prices were very reasonable. Only downside is that there seemed to be a lack of chairs/loungers

They have a little kiddie pool which my toddler was stoked about. It was down right filthy!!! I mean it was soooo dirty. There was bugs galore, leaves, bird feathers and all kinds of stuff floating in it!! It was nasssssssty!! But despite that heres the real kicker. After about 30 min or so they switched life guards. The one up there that was leaving was doing her job and she did it well. Now this new one omg was the worst. The entire time she was up there she was just jibber jabbering with a guest the entire time. Not ONCE did she pay attention to anyone in the pool. Not once did she look or even gaze at any of the children or people in the pool. She didnt even turn her head. A woman in the lane next to me noticed the same thing I did and said something to me about it. She then told me i should say something. So I did. When I approached the young girl working the front she seemed not surprised nor shocked that I said something but yet preceded to tell me " i think i saw her turn her head a couple times"! Are u kidding me right now? I asked for a supervisor number and she gave it to me. Not once did she apologize or say anything. This place is a filthy dangerous joke. All the floats and equipment are rotten and trashed teeth marks bent up. I will never ever go back here. You couldn't pay me to go back to this crappy place. What a shame.

This is a lovely park in the middle of the Buttercup Creek subdivision. I often walk through this park with my dog as there are two pet waste stations, offering convenience on both ends of the park. During the weekends, more families bring their kids to the playgrounds, but the park is more or less empty during the week. Buttercup Creek Park also features two tennis courts with lights. You must purchase a key from Cedar Park Parks & Recreation. The courts are well-maintained and open on a first-come, first-served basis. The pool is open to the public during the summer, but check the Cedar Park Recreation website for current hours. There is also ample parking available. I took off one star because the park itself is tiny. Though it packs a ton of amenities, one could walk from one end to the other in 1-2 minutes. Overall, Buttercup Creek Park is a great place to visit.

It is a large pool with a shallow and deep end with a diving board. There is also a ramp that you can walk in slowly with your babies or handicapped persons. The ramp literally looks like a wheelchair ramp that goes into the water along one side of the pool. The pool has a "lap" part where more serious swimmers can swim laps and an "open" part where you can just float around and play in the water freely. There is also a kiddie pool that is very shallow for toddlers and babies - still needs supervision of course. There is a fenced gate around the kiddie pool to separate it from the larger pool. There is shading under a large tree and small picnic tables, too. There were also lounging chairs that you can lay back on and sun bathe. They aren't open all year round but usually only during summer break. The lifeguards are usually highschool kids .. for summer jobs. There are plenty of parking spaces, restrooms, showers to rinse off and water fountains. Also if you're into PokemonGo there are a couple of stops and a gym here. :)
