It didn't take long to have confidence in his abilities seeing his attention to details and quality first attitude. Oh, and by the way, he did stay on the job until completion! Examples of his various tasks regarding our home: interior doors, trim work, hardwood floors and stairs, tongue and groove ceilings and beam work, exterior Hardieboard siding, soffit and facia, cedar beams and posts and trim, garage apron concrete. Joe, the owner of 1st Patriot, gave her her estimate and guaranteed that she would be completely satisfied with their services or they would keep working on it until she was satisfied. They were originally scheduled to start on the Monday July 6. They told her they would call the day before to confirm. After not getting any kind of confirmation, she messaged them and asked if there were any changes. He replied Sunday NIGHT July 5, via text that they were running over on their previous job, and would be there Monday afternoon to start prepping. Monday evening, she messaged them and they told her they were "not coming until Tuesday afternoon, remember." She did ask if they would be wearing masks, but he did not acknowledged the request at first. When she asked a second time, he said they were "all out". I personally came to the jouse during the job and not a single painter was wearing a mask. They did an incredibly unprofessional and all around half-assed job. When she tried to discuss the issues, Tony, the manager, tried to intimidate her by yelling at her. She reached out to Joe multiple times but received no responses. They quoted her that it would be a 2 day job and ended up not being done until Friday because thet had to fix so many of their errors. They did not clean up as they went and tracked paint dust through the house. Therr were several spots where the paint was so thin. You could see the colors underneath. (Previously a very pale blue and very pale purple in 2 rooms) they tried to "trim" or "frame" light switches, etc and the walls ended up looking like they had patched a hole in the wall. They dripped and smeared paint in several places. Things like putting light fixtures and smoke alarms back that were never done either. We sent pictures to both Joe and Tony to show where they left paint on wood trim and cabinets so the sent one guy in to "clean it up" (still not wearing a mask). Tony informed her Thursday evening that she would need to get them a check asap so they could "close out the job" even though she explained she was still not satisfied with the job that was done. She messaged Joe and asked that she be able to speak with him about the job because she did not want to speak with Tony again after his inappropriate behavior towards her. Joe never apologized for the horrible experience. He informed her he would "be able to meet some time next week, but was unavailable to meet her that day." He never contacted her after that day. When she posted her experience recently... 1st Patriot decided that their best course of action was to not only be unprofessional once again, but also to exhibit incredibly rude, insulting, and absolutely unacceptable behavior. Be very cautious if you ever consider using 1st Patriot for any job because THIS is the experience you have to look forward to.

When we spoke to them at the Home Show they said they would pour a concrete footer under the versalock block for stability. There was no concrete poured under the block. We had to make them take the wall down twice because it was leaning and no support. When we asked about the concrete footer they poured dry concrete under the blocks when they took it down the first time. They did not put a drain behind the wall which was in the estimate. Their crew was nice enough, but they arrived on the job between 8am and 9am , took an hour for lunch and left the job between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. He required half of the payment up front. After a few days we had to fire them and did not receive any of our down payment back. Definitely would not recommend Pfingston for retaining walls. They didn't get to the steps or driveway so I don't have an opinion on their concrete work. I would not recommend paying half up front.

We've been doing a lot of home renovation this year and I have worked with several different crews…read more Pfingston Concrete has been the best to work with by far. The project that Pfingston Concrete completed for us included installing a privacy fence, digging a French drain with backyard sump pump, backfilling the yard, building a retaining wall for flower beds, planting several shrubs and a tree and pouring new sidewalks and driveway. This work was completed during the hottest period of the summer. They ran in to unexpected issues such hitting buried bricks in almost every area where they were digging. They soldiered through to get the job completed. They were able to begin my project a little ahead of schedule and made steady progress through completion. The outstanding quality that I most appreciated was the open communication. Jerry is easy to talk to and doesn't hesitate to ask questions to confirm that we are on the same page. He always showed up on schedule and contacted me when rainstorms prohibited them from working. Jerry would always keep me in the loop of what items were completed and which things were to be completed next. He would often send pictures and videos of completed work. We've been working with other crews of roofers, electricians, plumbers, and general contractors. It was often a struggle to get these other crews to the job site and to receive updates. So it was greatly appreciated that Pfingston Concrete went above and beyond to keep our project on schedule and keep us updated every step of the way. It was a pleasure working with Pfingston Concrete.

Paulson Earthworks rebuilt my pothole ridden driveway and we could not be happier with the results!…read moreHe used a scarifier to dig down deep underneath the potholes and washed out area (the right way to repair potholes), then smoothed it all out, and finished it off with new gravel. My driveway is nearly 900 feet long, has a parking area, and is not flat, so this was no easy task. In just a few hours, our driveway went from our cars bottoming out and dragging across rough gravel and potholes, to a smooth and quiet ride. The pricing was the best that we had found after a lengthy search, and the service couldn't be matched by the most expensive company (that I'm glad we didn't hire)! I HIGHLY recommend Paulson Earthworks for any of their services!!

I had accepted working with him and he worked me and never paid. It was only three hours but the…read moreagreement was he would pay me ten$$ an hr. I am homeless and I needed the money and he knew that I "needed help" in his words. He took me and my belongings to his house, smoked dope all day and nite, that was the first red flag, I was mentioning to him that I didn't understand why other would ask me to lie and he said what about, I proceeded to tell him the lady at the animal shelter said she'd help me with dog food but told me when she asked me to lie about me giving the dog food to a raccoon I've been trying to feed that hangs out around my camp, and she knows I am not going to lie so why would she ask me what I need the dog food for. His response was to laugh at me and call me crazy. I teared up cause I haven't felt so bullied in my adult years and told him that was rude and he shouldn't call other crazy or laugh at them, he replied it's jus a saying and I said okay it's just a saying then what if I say "you're a bitch" we was driving to his job site leaving all my belongings at his house sixty miles from the job, he then said I will pack ur stuff and bring it to u. He made me wait over a week to get my clothes, medications, and forms of id. When I did get them he didn't return a few things and one of those things was a dual fast speed wall charger he'd borrowed the nite before, it's costed $22. I messaged and he said he get it to me so I told him I would be in town on a specific date and would only be able to get it on that day. I reminded him to not forget on the specific date I will be needing to get it and no text back until four days later. I waited in town for three days he know I have no place to stay on the forth I left town to go stay with my daughter since I'm also recovering from a major surgery. I've messaged and told him since he went threw all my belongings and kept things he knew I needed and also withheld wages I was going to report the situation. He looks for "people to help" as he stated, but his actions tell me he's looking for women who needs help or are homeless to take advantage of. If he wouldn't have smoked meth so much he prolly would've made better choices. I want other to know I needed the help and he jus made it as hard as he could on me knowing I'd jus had major surgery, needed a place, shower, and a friend. He uses his business to lure women saying he can help them with cash, I'm that woman that works with my hands, I don't do under jobs to keep this pg. I sure needed that ten bucks an hr he said he'd pay me but it's now been two months and still nothing, no wall charger that he claims he can afford or compensation for my work. CAREFUL, He smoked meth and leave his paraphernalia where he works, so if it your house he doesn't care bout u or ur children. Don't trust u won't have it in ur property when he leaves the work site. Don't be a dummy like me, looks are deceiving and now u know!
