I started seeing him many years ago after a friend from the Medical Staff Office at the hospital recommended him. She was very familiar with all the doctors on staff at that hospital and said he was top of the line. Dr. Greenberg has never disappointed me. He and Deanna (his assistant) never rush through my appointment. I feel very well cared for each and every time whether it's an office visit or a very quick return call or email. So what made me finally review on Yelp? I found myself in NYC very sick. While I was laying in a bed at a very highly related hospital in Manhattan, I was on the phone with Dr. Greenberg. He is the only provider that helped me. He called in the meds I needed. They were the right meds and I finally started to get better ... no thanks whatsoever to this "highly rated" ER. When I finally got back home, the office got me in to see Dr. Greenberg within 2 days. He and Deanna both spent a very long time with me. By the time I left, I felt confident that I had been given the best possible care. Tests were ordered and before I even got home, the scheduler had called me to schedule my test and I was given an appointment for the test the very next day. As if all that isn't enough, the office staff are always so kind, and the office isn't overloaded with sick patients in the waiting room. I am so grateful to Dr. Greenberg for returning my call and email so quickly while I was in NYC and so sick. If he hadn't, I'm not sure what would have happened.

Dr. Greenberg and his staff, Kennedy and Blanca, are THE best at helping people like us who have a medical problem and need answers. And Dr. Greenberg called us at home many times: Thanksgiving Day, and two Sundays to give us lab and pathology reports, and to discuss the reasoning behind the next steps in the diagnosis and treatment of our problem. Dr. Schmidt has changed. He used to be more carrying and understanding. He is still a knowledgeable doctor, but I think he is tired and from being tired he gets grumpy. I don't think he likes his job as much as he used to, and he takes it out on his patients at times. The other part I need to inform other patients, is the staff. There are no words to explain their unprofessionalism. They are flat out dumb. Anyone that works at a doctor's office, should be considerate of the patients, and well-mannered, and friendly. But these young kids -- I say, "kids" because that's how they act, need to grow up and have some respect for Dr. Schmidt's patients. Dr. Schmidt has no clue of their immaturity and incompetency. As soon as Dr. Schmidt walks up to the front office; they quickly stop laughing and talking and try to act professional. Their so fake. I sit there and say, "If Dr. Schmidt only knew." Kendra answered and it was disgusting how rude she was. My husband verified his identity and gave verbal consent for me to set the appointment for him. Kendra cut me off every time I spoke and would only speak to my husband, not to me. I asked for the address, because my husband was under the influence of prescribed medication and Kendra refused to give me that information, which is not even private. It is an embarrassment to the office and doctor how ignorant and unprofessional Kendra is and the lack of communication skills she has for a job working directly with the public. Kendra has no respect for patients and her attitude is gross. Kendra: under HIPAA, an authorized personal representative has the same rights as the patient to access Protected Health Information. I am an authorized personal representative and your nasty attitude saved us from a visit there and probably more undeserved mistreatment. Potential patients, I would definitely recommend looking for another provider. The front desk staff usually gives you an idea of how your experience and care will be. From an Ischitano family, he was born and trained in the US, and can deal with patients in English or Ischitano dailect, and limp along in modern Italian. His assistant, who is a charmer and does the best venipucture in Pedro, takes care of the language needs of the Spanish-speaking. While at the top of the social heap in Pedro, Dr. Pisano is not a Society Doctor -- being in his waiting room is like being in the ILWU hiring hall at the docks or the Free Clinic in the center of town, with a TV too loud and not much to read. He has a big social conscience, and there are times when I think I must be his only paying patient. Chris once joked to me that it was harder to get an appointment with him than it was to get an audience with the Pope, and he does have a point. He is grossly overworked, both in his office and with his outside charitable activities. He is kind, even a bit laid-back, and does focus on you when you are in his face, but he does not dispense boutique medicine with lots of cooing and stroking. Nor do I think he would consider that a value to strive for. I cannot recommend highly enough Dr. Pisano for routine medical issues, and I go to him in part to be able to support his other work. He is an internist, however, and for anything requiring a special diagnosis I probably would look elsewhere.
