I filed a YELP complaint against these people and requested to get my money back from YELP. I had plenty of proof with text messages between me and S&J and pictures of shoddy and unfinished work done to our project. YELP Quality Assurance agreed with our proof and Yelp gave us a partial refund. We still lost some money. I read some past reviews and maybe they are good to work on small projects, but be wary of any complicated projects. They could not do it even though they said they could. I gave them 50% deposit for the project. They did not show up until after a month delay. When they did show up, they do partial work, make excuses for additional scope, and ask that you pay more upfront or they will cancel your project. It was very frustrating! Do your research, find out if the company has a license and insurance. Ask to see an active license and Certificate of Insurance.

Once they arrive onsite, they do great work. It's contacting them and getting them to respond where the problem lies. I just recently contacted them again for a small project. The work was scheduled and a contractor assigned. When the time came for the contractor to be at my home, he was a no show. I contacted Get Dwell relaying the issue, which they told me they have been unable to reach that specific contractor assigned to this job. They told me they would assign another contractor, that was two days ago and I have not heard from anyone since. I felt the need to update this review. I commend a company recognizes its shortcomings and admits there's room for improvement. The contractor did show up at the scheduled time the second time. Mario came prepared to do the work and did a very nice job. He was very courteous and didn't waste any time getting to work. Once he came over, he didn't suggest or do anything excessive, only what needed to be done meet our concerns. What I think I appreciate the most is that because we were out of town for a stretch, we didn't have immediate accessibility and capability to know exactly what needed to be done. Howard offered to help out in any way possible, including future check-ins, if necessary. It was a welcome service and communication that is lacking in a lot of handyman businesses these days.

But I chose to call instead and actually spoke with Howard, to whom I described the work we needed done, and who told me to email Robin again and she would schedule the project. We agreed on an appointment time, and then they canceled the first appointment, saying another customer had an emergency, with very short notice, but gave us a ballpark for a reschedule, nearly two weeks later. I emailed back to ask for a possible date and time, and when I did not hear back, I emailed again to ask them to please let me know if they did not have time for us. But they got back to me and asked for our availability. We then scheduled a second appointment, but.....drum roll.....they then cancelled THAT appointment as well the morning of, saying they did not have time to commit to our project. Both times we had made special arrangements for someone to be here when they came. They strung us along for weeks, which I find highly unprofessional. I would be ashamed to conduct my business like this. Needless to say, we will not be using them now or in the future, nor can we in all good conscience be recommending them to anyone else. Dennis was the ONLY bid out of 4 that suggested I could keep my existing downspouts (they were actually swapped out for bigger ones last year) in order to keep the price down. He was also the only one of four not trying to hard sell me on gutter guards. He said if I wanted them we could always talk about them later. It was just such a great experience working with some one who I could implicitly trust and see an outstanding result. His price was very fair and I will more than likely be using him down the road when I need to replace my roof.
