There was also a woman on the phone, which I understand, but even after that, there was still no greeting or basic acknowledgment. When he finally spoke to me, his facial expression and tone felt dismissive, like I wasn't worth the time. He did give me the information I needed, so I got what I came for. But the overall interaction didn't sit right with me. It felt like I was being judged based on how I looked or what I brought in. A customer is still a customer, no matter what they walk in with. Owner jumped right into swapping it out, when his partner (brother?) came in, he jumped into my second watch. $5 dollars per watch, partner made sure to set both times and dates for me before handing it to me. $10 cash. As I'm noticing now, I know I had a dirty backplate/edge, saw him cleaning that off for me. They take pride in their care. Son took over the business from the dad. Business has been here since the 70's. Definitely coming back with my watch and jewelry needs. They told me their specialty is custom jewelry work but their mainstay is repairs. We ended up getting my engagement ring resized (two babies later the ring didn't fit lol), fixed a diamond that fell out of my halo, and got a new solitaire ring (both the diamond and setting from pro gems)! My husband and I can be quite picky when it comes to big purchases like this but you can see from the 5 star reviews here that Patrick comes off very accommodating but trustworthy. We felt the pricing was reasonable when comparing to online prices and you can get your setting customized here. He was not overly pushy but also gave honest feedback where needed. He recommended going with a bigger ring size than I thought I should go with but ultimately that was the right call given hands swell in the summer and there's no guarantee I'll lose weight (I was telling him I'm in the middle of losing weight lol... maybe too optimistic on my end?) I feel like that could be a sensitive topic for some women but he handled it well with light humor. The customized ring setting takes 3-4 weeks and resizing with fixing a diamond in the setting took about an hour. We came in unannounced the first time and Patrick invited us back the next weekend where he was able to show me the diamonds I wanted in the different carat sizes and cuts I wanted. I would highly recommend checking out Pro Gems and working with Patrick for any future engagement rings, anniversary rings, or any fine jewelry in general!!

David speaks fluent English and Cantonese. I think some Vietnamese as well. His mom for sure speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese. They're both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Let them know what you're looking for and they'll have recommendations for you! RESELLING JEWELRY David was very honest with me. I had some loose stones and he let me know there's not much anyone can do with them. I also had a ring that he identified as fake gold so it was pretty much junk lol. For some earrings that were 18k, he told me that there wasn't much gold (they were small) and because of that I would not get much resale value. Most of the value was really in the labor of making the pieces. I told him the main reason I was looking to sell was because they were white gold and I preferred yellow gold. He suggested I see his colleague at Focus Plaza and get them rhodium plated instead. (And I did for $20, see pics!) CLEANING Nothing to add, he cleaned my engagement ring so it was nice and shiny again. REPAIRING Great! His repairman soldered my necklace back together. The clasp snapped off but it was an easy fix.
