A friend introduced me to this shop because of their wide selection, quality goods, and amazing customer service. I came in looking to resell some gold, clean my jewelry, repair a necklace, and to look for some new earrings. Like the other reviews said, the shop is owned and run by David and his mom. David speaks fluent English and Cantonese. I think some Vietnamese as well. His mom for sure speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese. They're both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Let them know what you're looking for and they'll have recommendations for you! RESELLING JEWELRY David was very honest with me. I had some loose stones and he let me know there's not much anyone can do with them. I also had a ring that he identified as fake gold so it was pretty much junk lol. For some earrings that were 18k, he told me that there wasn't much gold (they were small) and because of that I would not get much resale value. Most of the value was really in the labor of making the pieces. I told him the main reason I was looking to sell was because they were white gold and I preferred yellow gold. He suggested I see his colleague at Focus Plaza and get them rhodium plated instead. (And I did for $20, see pics!) CLEANING Nothing to add, he cleaned my engagement ring so it was nice and shiny again. REPAIRING Great! His repairman soldered my necklace back together. The clasp snapped off but it was an easy fix. This is a small family-owned business. David speaks English, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Mandarin fluently as well. When David is not there, it's his sweet mother who also speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese. Her conversational English is good too! I've been living in Rosemead for all my life, but just stumbled upon this store a few years ago. It's right inside the San Gabriel Square Supermarket. David has such a great knowledge of the jewelry that he sells and keeps a very fair and honest price with you. He carries 18k and 24K predominantly, but is open to buying lower karat gold too if you need some cash. I love that he only carries solid gold in this store because it's worth its weight in resell value later down the road. In addition to carrying 18kt and 24kt gold, he also carries many jade pendants, jade donuts, jade rings, and jade buddhas. He also carries a fine selection of diamonds. The owners clearly take immense pride in their work, and it shows in every sparkling piece on display. From delicate, handmade necklaces to beautifully crafted engagement rings, their selection is both unique and thoughtfully curated. I was especially impressed by the custom design services they offer, taking time to listen to exactly what I wanted and bringing it to life flawlessly. The pricing is fair, and you can tell they prioritize quality and craftsmanship over mass production. It's the kind of place where you feel like more than just a customer. Came here to exchange a bracelet that my mom had gotten me for my birthday since it was too big. The owner told me to look around to see if there was anything I'll like to exchange for and didn't seem to mind one bit that we were over the 2 week return policy. I ended up picking out a plain simple bracelet and asked to exchange. The bracelet I picked out was only about half of what my mom paid for the other one. The owner gave my mom a full refund and then charged us for the new bracelet. Since we were at an Asian Jewelry store I honestly expected to be stuck with store credit instead of getting a full refund without any hassle. After picking out my bracelet, my mom and I continued to browse around to see if there was anything else we wanted. The owner was really friendly and didn't mind us asking to try on other things. My boyfriend and I came here because a close friend of ours said his friend owns this place. Since we are in the market to upgrade my boyfriend's chain, we stopped by. They have limited space, so obviously they're going to make the most with the space provided. They have a lot of different styles and options to choose from, despite the size of the store. The elder lady (presumably the owner's mom) was very helpful. I was looking at bracelets and she never pushed me to make the purchase and her voice was very sincere. I liked her from the get-go. My boyfriend inquired about the pricing on a chain and they provided him with a quote. Based on that day's gold price, it was $500 over FMV. I'm sure if we were to purchase that day, we would have negotiated and whatnot, but since we were just looking around, we didn't bother too much about it. The service here is really great! I bought a bracelet here in 2013 and broke it recently :( it got caught on some on something and the band broke. I bought it back asked if it was fixable. Not sure if he actually recognised the bracelet but he didn't question if I really did purchase it from them. They said yeah, no problem and they fixed it under half an hour for a small fee. Less than a month later I broke it again (different place), brought it back and asked if they could fix it again. He said of course. Did it in less than 15 minutes for a small fee and I was out the door :) Both times they also cleaned my bracelet at no extra cost without me asking, so generous! So I did come here because of the yelp reviews ... Very friendly service and they speak decent amount of English. Also, I like that they weren't pressuring you to buy anything . Knocked off two stars--- here's why: I came in for a ring repair and they wanted to charge me $50 (very pricey) For jewelry exchange credit, they offered me $45-$50... ! I went to another jewelry place and they fixed it for $20. Yes, $20 Cash got it fixed. This place said its $50 because my ring needed to be resized bigger, meaning that they would have to add on more gold and make it thicker. Well, I'm glad I went to another jeweler because they fixed it for $20 and added 18k gold and made the band thicker. This place wanted $30 more. I guess you should always shop around. I would probably never come here or recommend this place because of the pricing and also because they don't have too many ring selections , in my opinion . read more
