Good service, relatively clean, and conveniently located in a shopping center in Springfield (with ample parking nearby)! I didn't purchase my own wedding dress from David's Bridal (I bought mine from a boutique in Alexandria, VA), but I did choose my bridesmaids dresses from David's Bridal (much easier for my bridesmaids, who were located all over the country, to purchase it from David's Bridal, since they have locations nationwide) and also bought my bridesmaid dress for when I was a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding. I've only ever been to this David's Bridal location, so I don't have much to compare it with. As far as wedding dresses go, I did try some on from David's Bridal but wasn't very impressed. They don't have as large a collection as I was hoping for. I was specifically looking for a satin A-line or fit and flare dress with a sweetheart neckline and crystal and pearl beading. They didn't have much in the way of what I was looking for, but it was nice to try dresses on there anyway as a comparison and for the sake of being thorough in my search for my wedding dress. But they do have a WONDERFUL bridesmaid dress collection! They have all sorts of styles, sizes and colors. I chose a long strapless chiffon dress in plum for my own bridesmaids and they were all able to get the right dress from around the country (and they are all different sizes). When I ordered a bridesmaid dress from there for my friend's wedding, it took only a few weeks for my dress to ship to me. Very impressive! It's very convenient for bridesmaids dresses! David's Bridal also offers other wedding products - I bought my wedding shoes from David's Bridal, for just $40. I wasn't looking to spend much money on my wedding shoes, so it was perfect that David's Bridal has inexpensive wedding shoes! They don't have an extensive collection, but I found what I was looking for - low heel, strappy, shiny silver shoes with sparkly silver beading. It matched my outfit very well :) I also bought some of my engagement photoshoot and bridal shower jewelry from there as well (I ended up buying my wedding day jewelry from Macy's). We even bought our wedding guestbook from David's Bridal! They have quite a collection of those, especially online. I was in a time crunch because I bought the guest book about a week before the wedding. I was so happy that this David's Bridal collection carried a lovely, elegant guestbook that we ended up using, and for less than $30! I also looked for ideas for my flower girl's dress at David's Bridal. They have quite an extensive flower girl dress collection, for which I was grateful! Some of my criticisms of the place (and this is a general criticism of all David's Bridal locations): -It seems like a bridal shop mill, with tons of people being helped at once. It doesn't feel as intimate as bridal boutiques do. -It has a generic and commercial, unpersonalized feel to it. -The dressing room area is not as clean as polished as you might expect from a bridal shop. But regardless, they have so many different wedding day items. I think it's a great place for bridesmaids dresses, inexpensive shoes and jewelry, and other odds and ends like wedding guestbooks. I'm not a big fan of their wedding dress collection, but I have friends who did buy their own wedding dresses from there, and it's all a matter of personal preference. If for nothing else, David's Bridal is at least a good starting point! Customer service was excellent every time I visited. I am thoroughly impressed with this David's Bridal location and will continue shopping there whenever my friends ask me to be a bridesmaid and choose their dresses through David's Bridal! read more

I came here to try on wedding dresses for my first time. I am giving this 5 stars because my consultant Iman Pasha is a 5 star woman and bridal expert! We came during a very busy time. We had an appointment, thank goodness, and Iman was with us right away. I had made a wishlist and she had it already printed and was pulling my favorite dresses for me to try. All I knew was I wanted lace and ivory. That's it. She worked with me and had me in and out of dresses, each time asking me what I liked and didn't and suggesting different ones. She found me some gorgeous dresses and while I didn't purchase with them, it is only because I needed my dress in a couple weeks instead of the months. Nothing against them at all. What really impressed me was the range of dresses in different prices and styles. Even more, Iman was working with several of us at ONCE and I never felt a lack of attention. I sometimes had to wait a little for the next dress to be helped on but it wasn't long and she never seemed flustered or annoyed. In fact we laughed together and I felt very comfortable with her. I just had to write a review to tell them to promote Iman or give her a bonus because she was incredible!!!!!!!!!!! I will be back for bridesmaid dresses next year! read more

Ahh the mixed feeling of that phone call from your best friend. "I'm getting married!" YAY! You shout. Then comes the realization, "Oh man, it's time to get another bridesmaid dress." Though I'm only 25, I'm from the Midwest, so that means most of my friends are married or are in the process of getting married. I know my bridal stores, and when you've been to one David's Bridal, you've been to them all. What I like: They're all over the country, therefore, even though my friend's wedding is in Indiana, I can try on my dress here, and so can the other bridesmaids in Florida. You just give your name, your sizes, and try them on. You roll your eyes at the choice, and make your purchase. What I don't like: 1. I'm not the bride, I don't see why I have to make an appointment to try on like 2, maybe 3 dresses. It's never that busy. 2.There's no mirror in the dressing rooms, you have to come out and show everyone else in the store what that dress looks like on you. 3. They never have matching colors for the two-pieces to try on, so you never really know what the dress looks like. What I liked about this store: 1.The staff was SUPER friendly, and we joked about the dresses, particularly about the fact that my dress made me have more cleavage than J-Lo. 2. My greatest mistake in buying a dress from David's Bridal was giving them my personal email address AND my cell phone number. When you first go to David's, they have you fill out a form with your information. I decided to give them my personal email figuring that they would just send me follow up emails about my dress. I gave them my cell so that I could be contacted when my dress arrived (which it did, 3 weeks later). Then I checked the box at the bottom of the page - "Please DO NOT share my information with others". Yeah, right. David's is the only bridal vendor that has my cell phone number on file, so I *know* that they are the source of the annoying, "you've won a free honeymoon!" phone calls (http://www.brides.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24446&start=15&tstart=0). They're also the only vendor who has my personal email address (I use a specific joint wedding account for the others) so I know that they are the source of wedding spam on that end too. Grr. My experience at David's though, was good. I went on a weeknight so it wasn't too crazy. I spent 1 hour, 15 minutes with Odyssey and she helped me find the right dress - one that I actually love! It's just a shame that they sold all my information :-(. Oh yeah, and the lady on the free honeymoon call excitedly told me that they were a marketing company and because I went to a bridal shop or expo, they had sold my information to them (using her singsong voice, she tried to make out that this was somehow to my benefit and that I should be excited about that). Turns out I'm not a bridezilla at all -- David's Bridal should thank both God and Georgetown's MBA program for that. I have no time to stress over a party called my wedding. That said, I couldn't in good conscience pay a fortune for a dress that I will only wear once and will not pass down to poserity (seriously, no one wears their mother's wedding dress. Seriously.), so I figured DB might not be a horrible option. The process of picking out the dress was fine. Khannie, my consultant, was amazing. Not at all pushy and completely okay with my lack of girliness. If this review were solely about Khannie, it'd be a total 4 star one. Sadly, the alterations team seems to suck all the joy one could possibly experience in buying one's wedding dress. I had a total of 4 fittings. I could see if I were: a) 300 pounds. b) 4'2" or 6'8" c) incredibly hard to please. Being none of these things, I didn't understand why it took 4 times for them to get it right. 1st fitting -- Dress taken in entirely too much, about 3 inches. Mind you, I have a 24 inch waist -- WHO THE HELL SHRINKS A DRESS DOWN TO A 21 INCH WAIST???? WHO HAS A 21 INCH WAIST??????? And, yes, I definitely told the lady that it was too tight when she pinned me and demanded that she loosen the pins, which she did.... Until she started sewing, apparently. Also, for the record, the alterations cost more than my dress. HA HA! 2nd fitting -- Had dress taken out, but wasn't taken out enough. 3rd fitting -- Dress taken out too much (seriously?), so had to have taken in again. 4th fitting -- Still too loose, and since strapless, had to have top taken in a bit again so wouldn't fall down. After 4th fitting, there was definitely a stain on the back, for which one lady suggested that I cover. SERIOUSLY? 5th trip -- finally got dress back, without stains and fitting. Part of me wonders if it was because my dress wasn't expensive. Who knows. I'm just glad that I'll be married in 3 weeks and won't have to go through this again. What the fuck. I had to call 3 times to simply schedule an appointment. First time I was on hold for 10 minutes, and hung up. Mind you I am calling first thing in the morning when they opened on a Sunday. I was talking mid sentence about what I needed and then she just slammed the phone on hold without any warning or notification. Secondly, I called and told the girl very clearly..."I need to make an appointment for a bridesmaid dress." Once again put on hold for another 4 minutes and then she comes back on the line to tell me that my order is not in. I said, "I did not ask about an order....! I want to make an appointment." She remains aloof and silent for a moment, clears her throat and hangs up. I wasn't rude or anything! I was more direct with what I said, but didn't get an attitude. Third time I call and they pick up -- I told her immediately do not to put me on hold. All three times with different people answering the phone. She took my name and information and I've got an appointment for tomorrow with a consultant. My cousin's wedding is in October and she is insistent I go to David's Bridal despite there being tons of other options. Gawd, I am not looking forward to this. To be continued.... read more

I had a terrible experience here just the other day. I tell the sales lady my budget, which wasn't much, and she imimediately acted like she couldn't help me. I told her I was flexible and that i'd like to see some options. She kept repeating my price range and taking care to point out the things that would be "extra". She didn't build a rapport with me. Although she ended up finding more dresses for me I felt as if she didn't know how (or care to) pinpoint excatly what kind of dress would look nice on me. I felt as if she was telling me all the stuff that couldn't be done instead of what COULD be done. For example, she'd show me a dress that was short but wasn't sure if I could get length added. THEN WHY SHOW IT TO ME? The last straw was when she was tending to another customer (hello? I thought I had an appt?) and was supposed to bring me more dresses. I'm stuck in the dressing room in a slip and boustie'(sp?) and peek out like "Hello?" She told me she thought I was going to look for the dresses. Since when does a bride need to flip through racks during an appt for her own dress?? It would not have been so bad (i'm pretty easy going) if a few other things didn't already piss me off. Very disappointed with my experience at this store. If you are a bridesmaid and have to order from David's bridal ORDER ONLINE because it is not worth dealing with anyone at this store. Making an appointment is a joke - it doesn't mean anything because no stylist is actually scheduled to help you. I ordered my dress a month ago and came in a few weeks after pick it up. There was a STAIN on it. They offered to have the new dress shipped to my home for free which I was fine with. A few days ago I got a notification that my order has arrived and I had 7 days to pick it up but that if shipping had been arranged prior to disregard the notification. I got a reminder today to pick up my dress which made me take pause so I called to check that the dress had been shipped. I called and they said because they gave me free shipping they forgot to ship it. What? When they confirmed the address it was wrong. So apparently the dress is on its way (we'll see). To add insult to injury I received a voicemail from the manager Erin (I requested a manager call back) letting me know since I got the dress on sale and had free shipping from the previous issue no further discount could be given. She hadn't even talked to me at this point. To summarize: poor customer service and incompetence. Hide your kids, hide your brides from this store. read more

You folks S.U.C.K. I called two days before I came in. I said I need to try on THIS specific dress in THIS specific size. I was very clear in my explanation. Will it be there? "Yes" the lady said. I reminded her I was driving an hour out there to try on THIS specific dress in THIS specific size. She said it wouldn't be a problem. It was. They brought out a dress 2 sizes larger. They didn't have my size. I wasted like 2.5 hours plus 1/3 tank of gas. Awesome. I have had wonderful experiences at other David's Bridal. But, this one is another story. When I came for my initial alterations appointment, two very helpful ladies helped zip me up in my gown. They assured me that the fit was correct for my size. The only alteration that needed to be made was the hem. Yesterday, I went to pick up my hemmed gown. This time, only one lady helped me. She did not ask anyone for help in zipping me up, but rather said that the gown was too tight and that I could have it altered further to let out some of the fabric, or I could lose weight. I didn't have time for further alterations, so I accepted the gown as is. I write this to say: Please ensure consistency in alteration recommendations. I would have been perfectly fine with the two ladies who helped me initially telling me the gown needed to be let out, because there was time for that and I can accept the possibility that I chose the wrong size when I ordered online. I honestly don't think it really is the wrong size, so I will get help zipping, but it was jarring for me to be told one thing at the first appointment and another at the second. read more

If you're expecting Kleinfeld's, NY, you'll be sorely disappointed. But if you go to David's Bridal with realistic expectations, I think it can be a good experience. After reading all of the negative reviews online, I approached my visit to David's with dread. I wanted to just try on a few dresses to "get my feet wet" with gown shopping. I made an appointment on a weekday, as recommended by other reviewers. I expected industrial lighting and horrible customer service, after reading reviews stating that David's is the Walmart of bridal boutiques. I was pleasantly surprised. I had a sales assistant all to myself, which was nice. She first took me to the rack of gowns in my size and told me to pick out anything I wanted to try on. Again, I'll repeat, this is not Kleinfelds. So if you expect to have the same experience as the girls on "Say Yes To The Dress," you'll be disappointed. There's no consultation where the consultant asks you what you want to look like on your wedding day. There isn't a conversation about what silhouette will be best for your body shape. Basically, you're taken to the dresses and left to peruse them. Since this was my first time shopping, I pulled a LOT of dresses. I started to feel embarrassed that I was selecting almost every dress I looked at. But the sales associate was friendly and hauled my dresses, trip after trip, back to the dressing area with a smile. She helped me try on the dresses, and I was also pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. After watching "Say Yes To The Dress," where sales consultants comment that a girl shouldn't expect to get anything with detailing for a mere $2000, I was excited to find dresses with a decent amount of beading for under $800. I told the sales girl that I wasn't planning to buy today, and would like to return later with my mother. She didn't pressure me at all, and she even made a list of the dresses, colors, and sized I'd tried, so I could return and show my mom the things I liked. I think the key to a successful visit is to have realistic expectations. You won't be pampered, but if you'll receive friendly, efficient help in finding a nice, affordable dress. read more

Why? 1) Every time I came the store seemed to be in a state of uncontrolled chaos. 2) Employees were not always the friendliest. 3) Alterations appointments were inconvenient -- with the store insisting on days and times when most of the world is still at work. One of the worst experiences I've ever had! Having found a dress online, I did a search & luckily, the dress was available at David's Bridal. I had no idea I had to schedule an appointment (with my 1st visit), so I just showed up. The dress just happened to be displayed in the front, so there was little we needed to do 'search' it out. However, I did have to wait about 20 minutes to be helped. No problem. I understood. On the 2nd (& subsequent 3rd & 4th visits), I scheduled appointments. My wait time, strangely, began to increase, from 30 minutes to 1 hour! So that's one thing: long wait times, even with an appointment. Going back to the 1st visit - although I wasn't looking for bridesmaids dresses at the time, I happened to find a very lovely gown for my bridesmaids. I wasn't absolutely sure on it, & I wanted time for my bridesmaids to give some input (they are, after all, going to be in this thing for half a day). I stated as much to my 'helper', who subsequently told me that the dress is no longer *available. If I was planning on this particular dress I needed to decide TODAY. (Ok, no excuse, but I'm a first time bride & I have no idea how this works, so I have to trust the people who are in the business). Luckily (?), I had one bridesmaid with me who said that she felt the dress would be perfect & that it should work. So.......I reserved the dress & notified all my bridesmaids that they needed to rush out & place their orders at their respective David's Bridals. They did just that. As I said, on visits 2, 3, & 4, I had increasingly long wait times, even with an appointment, but my issues with David's Bridal don't stop there. Beginning on visit #2, they asked when I would be coming in for my "slip fitting". "Slip fitting"? My wedding is in the summer. Why do I need a slip? I was assured that ALL brides wear slips. "Slip-less" isn't done. And I needed a strapless bra. The one's that are sold in department stores (which I already owned, by the way) are not "bridal" bras. Okaaaaaayyyyy...... Then I was told that I "needed" a head piece. I wasn't planning on wearing one. I had already planned to use swarovski hair pins as my hair accessory. Ok. Maybe I'm just a dumb bride. And now we hit the veil. I told my helper I wasn't sure I was going to wear one. I was told, "but this is the one that goes with the dress". Really? I'm beginning to feel *really* stupid. I had no idea there were so many bridal attire rules. So now......I'm thinking I found this really nice wedding gown for a VERY decent price ($300), but I find that I'm in the hole a total of $1600!!!!!!! (veil, head piece, slip, bra, & shoes all totaled $1300!) What turned out to be my final visit was what really prompted me to write this review: When my bridesmaid came with me for a fitting (which, by the way, only includes hemming), she left her dress for the appropriate work to be done. Told that it would be a few weeks, we waited. No call. We called & were told it would take a bit longer. Several weeks later, we called again & were told the same thing. We called a 3rd time & were given a specific day to come in; it would be ready. We went in......waited, of course.....& were finally told that the dress was "lost". "Lost"?????? Really??????? And the kicker on this: WE WERE TOLD THEY COULD NOT OFFER A REFUND! Seriously. My bridesmaid DID NOT GET A REFUND ON A DRESS THAT DAVID'S BRIDAL LOST! So now I have a bridesmaid with no dress (yes, there are worse things in the world, but this is a review & I'll stick to the relevant issue). Anyway, I called one of my other bridesmaids & had her read the tag (for make, model #, etc.) in the hopes of finding a used dress, or something......& found out that the dress is not only *available (see 1st visit), but the style is made by several different manufacturers! (The gown was easily replaced from an online vender). I finally ended up getting an absolutely beautiful gown at another local bridal shop (David's Bridal insists on the 'industry standard' - HA! - of no returns outside of 30 days. I tried to return my on day 34, which was in their possession from day 20). My 2nd gown - the one I ultimately ended up wearing - was of a higher quality, & although more expensive as a single gown ($1200), it ended up being a much less overall expense than if I had just purchased it alone (which is what I wanted & expected to do). Bottom line: they really take advantage of brides. Most brides are caught up in the excitement of their day & the task of picking out a gown that truly expresses who they are, & most don't understand that 'bridal protocol' is what the BRIDE decides, & not something that is dictated by some kind of bridal convention. read more

I did not go into David's Bridal in Springfield expecting a wonderful experince, I went in expecting a mediocre one, but it was worse than I thought it would be. First off, this was my second time trying on dresses. I had some idea as to what I liked and what I wanted, but since I'd only been dress shopping once before, I was still willing to try just about anything. The main reason I'm only giving this place one star is because of my consaultant. Anne was nice enough, but she was less than helpful. First off, I made my appointment at 5. I was going to be late so I called and told them. When I got there I had to wait an additional 20 minutes before Anne came up to help us. We had some dresses we liked and she brought them to my dressing room, which was beyond small! Then, she handed me a slip and told me to change into the first dress. She walked out. Anne was not in the dressing room with me at all. She did not help me get into any dresses. My maid of honor had to be in there to help me. Anne also refused to pull any dresses that were not my exact size and she did not bring in any clips to clip the dress to me if it was too small or too big. I didn't expect amazing service, but I thought I would at least have some help. What makes it worse was that I was the only bride in the store trying on dresses. It was empty save for one bridal party who was getting fittings done in the back of the store. Anne basically told me that if she dis not have the dress in my exact size, she wouldn't show it to me, even though if I tried on on and I liked it, I could have it ordered. I wanted to like her and I tried to be understanding but at the same time she was simply awful and unhelpful and it was two hours of my life I'm never going to get back. I was hesitant to come into a chain line David's Bridal, and had no intention of buying or walking out with a dress for m appointment. I wanted to simply have the experience with my mom and go and live my dream and get a dress from new York to fulfill my dream dress. I love that you could walk through the entire store and feel and touch and see all of the dresses they have to offer rather than just saying what you want and waiting in a room for someone to bring you a dress that you MIGHT like. Lenny in Springfield, VA location was amazing to work with. She took all of my likes and dislikes both in fashion and in life and put them into one amazing dress that was meant to be. I tried on probably 20 dresses, and the one i chose i instantly fell in love with, the second i put it on, there were tears of joy. It was nothing at all what I had thought I wanted or what I was trying on in the other styles, Lenny found this one for me and simply made me try it on, and i am so overjoyed that she had me. It fit perfectly, and there's no other dress like it. I wouldn't change a single thing about my visit. Everyone at that location makes you feel so welcome and relaxed and pampered. I had two consecutive bridal appointments with Kidist here and I just wanted to leave a review specifically for my experience with her. I booked online and met with Kidist who was absolutely amazing to work with. I had a very complicated group with me at my appointment, butl she was super helpful and reassuring, taking every care to make sure that everyone's concerns were met. She helped me tactfully hide a back tattoo, and didn't hesitate to grab all the dresses we requested. While my own party was less than enthusiastic about my appearance, she made supportive comments and kept me from getting too down during a very difficult first appointment. I did leave that first appointment with a beautiful gown, albeit one that I was half-hearted about. I called in later that day to simply begin inquiring about an exchange. Surprisingly, Kidist called me back personally to say that she wanted to be the one to help me fix it. It was clear that she understood how I had lost sleep and she felt bad that I had not gotten the dress I had wanted. I was fit in the very next day over the phone. And even though my group arrived an entire hour early for our second appointment, she still got me back in the dress of my dreams while finishing a sale with another bride. My expectations were quite low considering David's is a large retail chain -- but I felt very taken care of and happy in the end. Can't thank her enough!! read more

What can I say about David's Bridal beyond, just don't go here. I originally came to David's Bridal because I wanted to purchases an accessible dress for my bridesmaids. They are located all over the country and because sizing can be very wonky I wanted to pick a store they could all visit and try on the dress before purchasing. I did find a dress and shoes at David's Bridal for about $200, which was great. When I went back for my wedding dress I had hopes of finding an expensive dress somewhere else and a more adorable version at David's Bridal. After spending the afternoon getting fabulous one-on-one service, David's Bridal just didn't stand up. Saturdays are extremely busy, their attendants barely have time to help you put dresses on let alone suggest designs. My attendant was probably helping at least 3 other people at the same time. We ended up waiting a ton of time between dresses and being handed a look book and told to choose felt very impersonal. Now I know the dresses at David's Bridal are cheaper than other boutiques and I was okay with that until I actually tried on the dresses. They were itchy, the beading was scratchy, they just felt cheap. I couldn't imagine spending $1,300 on a dress that was cheap and cookie cutter just to save a few hundred dollars. After two or three dresses I left. It was obvious to me my dress wasn't there and even if I did buy my dress there the service moving forward with fittings would be a nightmare. You can find a great dress for a great price somewhere else. Maybe there are better David's Bridals out there, but this one is a definite PASS. read more

I don't really get bridal store snobbery. You can easily spend a few thousand at DB for a beautiful and custom fitted dress, shoes, bag, shapewear, etc. I get annoyed when people scoff at DB because it is commercial and "for the masses" because in reality, the dresses are very pretty. I had a consult at this store last year with my mom. We were taken care of nicely and after about 6 dresses, I found "the one". It was about $500 and the alterations were around $100. I disliked how the seamstresses kept trying to push the $100 "hem up" which I did not need. I am 5'5 and do not need a hemmed dress. The length was perfect on me without a hem up (albeit with heels) and it looked beautiful. I also found the PERFECT silver heels to wear on my wedding day. They were comfortable for about 4 hours and then I just HAD to take them off when I was dancing. Point is, they were GORGEOUS and complimented my dress nicely. I loved being able to shop for everything at one location. Another MAJOR freakin' perk is that my bridesmaids were able to get their dresses that I chose at DB locations near them. I would be lost without that service... I enjoyed the experience and my dress was lovely. My husband absolutely loved every aspect of it (and for a $600 one time dress, he better!) and I am very satisfied with DB. read more

I had a consultation here in January. Very busy and rushed environment. I don't think it is the best place for the Bridal experience. Returned for my maid of honor in March. They had what we were looking for but we pretty much helped ourselves despite having a consultant. Overall it was a mediocre experience both times and I ended up getting my bridal Gown elsewhere. read more

I am a bride-to-be and I had found my wedding dress at another boutique the day before I came to David's Bridal with my bridesmaids to have them try on dresses. All I can say is thank goodness I had found my gown the day before somewhere else- the store was a hectic mess! It was terribly crowded, nowhere to sit, and the store smelled of sweat. After waiting 15 minutes we were finally greeted by our consultant. She was very nice, but just be prepared that your consultant will be helping several groups at once and will not be able to give you the attention you deserve. Although I didn't try on any wedding dresses, the ones I saw looked very cheap and not well made. My bridesmaids were given a dressing room and began trying on their dresses. Most of them were stained, smelled like body oder, were ripped or had deodorant marks on them- ew! They were limited on sizes and most of their samples were in very bright, ugly colors. David's Bridal should definitely look into getting their samples replaced and provide a wider variety of colors and sizes. My bridesmaids were given a small, back corner room that they had to squeeze past other brides and their family members and a pile of dresses on the floor to get to their dressing room. Also, after the first 5 minutes we never saw our consultant again, so I had to run around the store and pull dresses for them to try on. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing and my bridesmaids left discouraged and disappointed. We will not be back to this location. read more

I bought my gorgeous wedding dress from David's Bridal and had a fantastic experience at this shop! I was originally against going to a David's Bridal because they seemed relatively low quality and similar to a warehouse, but I needed to try on more dresses so I made an appointment. My mind was completely changed within only a few minutes of entering the store due to the sweet employees I spoke to, and especially after working with Theresa. She took all of my concerns into consideration and allowed my sister, mom, and I to start pulling some dresses at the beginning of the appointment, in addition to the ones she had grabbed for me to try on. Once I started to try on the dresses, she could identify the issues I had with certain styles, and even pulled a few more for me to try. Their dresses were of good quality and extremely well priced. The last one I tried on was completely her choice (and one that I never would have picked) but I decided to humor her and my family and wore it out of the dressing room. I'm so glad I listened to Theresa, since she had picked out my wedding dress! It was so unexpected, beautiful, elegant, and under budget as well! My wonderful experience was absolutely due to Theresa--ask for her when making an appointment! read more

I went to the Springfield location. I love it. The staff was nice but let me tell you, I am an extremely picky yet indecisive person but Elizabeth (Goes by Grace) made my journey in looking for my bridal dress so smooth. She went beyond and above. I mean it! She went all over the store for me. She knows her stuff and will not just slip any veil on you . NO, she will choose the best one that will complete the dress. She is extremely friendly and will not judge at all. She will be honest with you, (only if you ask her) only looking in the best interest in you. I felt as she was a close friend helping you out & in the dresses. I went with a mother & sister with a strong taste and vision in what they wanted for me. But Grace was all about "How do YOU feel in it." I enjoyed it and I appreciate her so much for all her help. She deserves a raise. Lol Anyways if you're someone like me that is in the search for a dress. Grace is your girl. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! PERIOD! Your whole experience will be ruined. Here is what I wrote to the company the week after my appointment. (So this is 5 days after the debacle): "The first thing you need to do is fire the incompetent moron that was sitting at your front desk. A large (fat) man with glasses, white shirt and a tie. He was completely disorganized and did not even tell my consultant that I was there...UNTIL 35 MINUTES AFTER MY APPT WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN! When, after 25 minutes, I asked him what the hold up was he replied, "Oh, someone will be right with you! Um, what's your name?" Do NOT tell feed me a line of niceties and empty promises if you don't know who I am. Not to mention, there were 3 other brides in the store. I honestly don't know how you can forget one of three women. 3. 3 women. My consultant was great. When I told her that the man's ineptitude left us with only an hour, she hauled out the gowns and my mom helped me get into them. NOT the experience I was hoping for, but she did as we asked and got the dresses to me. We did not make a purchase, though 2 of the dresses did fall into the "Yes" category. We ended up going to our next appt at Crystal Brides in Vienna, VA and bought the 2nd gown I tried on, a $1,300 custom design from the salon's European designer. I truly wanted to find my dress for a reasonable price at David's Bridal. But with the disdain I felt towards your check-in clerk, I just could not put money down. Furthermore, I will be taking my bridesmaids elsewhere to buy their dresses. My experience was RUINED because of that man, and I truly hope you find better placement for him in the company. Like in the shipping warehouse. Or the curb." I should have added: Holy crap, that place is a disaster! All of the gowns on display were wrinkled and covered in dirt and marks. Ugh! I feel awful for first time brides coming to this location. Every aspect of this store is unsatisfactory and extremely disappointed. Our 'stylist' was 20 minutes late and I think her only training was reading an issues of Brides magazine. After waiting far too long we were taken back to view several dresses and after she showed us to our room she promptly vanished. The poor young man ended up helping us try several dresses but mostly just walked around obliviously wondering where to find dresses we would like. While we were very tolerant this time, we will most definitely not recommend this location. read more

It is likely no surprise here that DB was not a stellar experience for me. First things first, DO NOT GO ON THE WEEKENDS TO TRY ON DRESSES. It is a nightmare and completely unpleasant experience. The first morning I went to try on dresses with my mom and MOH, the woman assigned to us was unfriendly and rushed us. She also did the bare minimum to help us find alternative dresses that might work when ones I'd looked at online weren't available. BUT when I went back on a weeknight a couple of months later, it was a whole other world. The store was empty and calm, and they had many more options in my size to try on. I ended up ordering a White by Vera Wang dress on clearance, which I still love to this day. It's just strange that they told me it would take four months to come in and was actually delivered in two weeks - perhaps they're managing expectations? They also kept encouraging me to buy a slip to make sure the dress didn't go in between my legs when I walked, but the dress already had ten layers of material and definitely didn't need the slip. Perhaps for some dresses this is the case, but it's frustrating when places just try to sell you extra things that are unneeded. I did get my corset from here, which was cheaper than anywhere else that I looked. Despite the fact that my dress was on clearance and I got it for a great price, they charged a ridiculous amount just to get my dress hemmed and a bustle put it. I know that I don't have anything to compare it to since I haven't purchased a wedding dress before, but I have had a bridesmaid dress that needed a bustle, and it didn't cost $300 like this did. The best part? (Sense my sarcasm?) - the bustle fell out not even an hour into the reception so I had to spend the entire night carrying my dress around. Also, I had to wait about 30 minutes when I went for my final fitting and asked about 5 people where my dress was. Surprisingly, the same woman that made me miserable on my very first time in the store, was really sweet and helpful that afternoon while I waited forever for someone to bring my dress to try on. I'd recommend DB to try on dresses and determine what kind of style you like, but be hesitant about purchasing your dress from here. read more

Im not one to care what brand or designer name anything is, when I went to Davids bridal, I saw a dress that I loved on me and got it. If you just buy your dress and never come back to Davids bridal you should be okay.. but NEVER get ANYTHING else from them... Their alterations are TERRIBLE, they have no customer service skills at all either.. very rude and defensive. After the 3rd time of having to go back in for alterations, I told them there's still a problem and the tailor said "oh I cant fix it" .. it was a problem with the bonies that they had put in themselves.. it was just a mess and the managers even were rude. Then when they agreed to refund me for part of the alterations, they charged me for them again.. I even called them and they apologized and "fixed" the problem but I never got the money back on my credit card. I had to dispute the charge and it was a big mess. Overall, If I had to buy my wedding dress again, I would NOT go to Davids Bridal, especially not the one in springfield.. and if you do, DO NOT even think about doing your alterations there.. find another tailor and another store! You dont need extra headaches when planning a wedding! read more

We walked in, were greeted, and told we were free to browse the dresses. Sharon approached us a few minutes later after I went from bride dresses to bridesmaid dresses. After I tried on a dress that did not work for me, she kindly and gently said she knew how to dress my body type if I was interested in suggestions. I accepted her offer and looked at some of her choices. She was very patient and funny with me. Ultimately, her suggestion (one I never would have picked) was the winner. I am shocked to read all these bad reviews about customer service because my experience was the opposite! I wanted to exchange my veil for a dress I saw online and called the store to see if they had any in stock. They had one and it was my size so they suggested that they pull it from the racks and put it on hold. At first Tracey couldn't find the dress but instead of telling me it wasn't there she went back out and found it sandwiched between two big wedding dresses. I came in on a Tuesday night so there were only a few other customers. They got me the dress straight away and some shoes to try it on with. I loved their shoe selection so much I bought the shoes too. They brought out my wedding dress so I could experiment with accessories. Kidist was the assistant and she had so many good ideas and tips. I bought a bolero that was perfect and picked a better fitting slip. At this point the store was closed. They stayed 30 min after closing to help me finalize my selection and ring me up. As they were ringing me up another assistant Sallie saw what wedding dress I had and asked me if I had seen this cathedral length veil that matches the color and lace. I hadn't so she brought it out and it is perfect. When I go back to puck up my shoes I will get the veil as well! All the ladies were so amazing and glad to help! read more

After a medical condition developed and radiation therapy caused me to gain over 20 lbs in the past month, I panicked when my bridesmaid dress no longer fit (6 weeks before the wedding!). I am so lucky that I got Sallie in alterations who immediately realized how stressful the situation was for me and immediately went to work in finding different alteration/sizing options - I'm so thankful for Sallie and how incredibly kind/proactive she was!
