Wow. Where to begin. We made an appointment for bridesmaid and mother of the bride/groom dress shopping. The store was VERY thorough in confirming our appointment and asked 3 different ways for me to confirm. Upon arrival, our party was encouraged to peruse while we waited for the remaining few, which caused us to be scattered. Our stylist finally came over and asked a few questions about what we were shopping for. There was no coordinated direction for our group in how to start making selections to try on. The selection at that, was atrocious. There are signs with all of the dress styles available - but many were either not available to try on or were not available in our sizes. Many, many of the dresses were broken and showed excessive wear and tear (broken straps, zippers that don't work, etc.) it was hard to really get a feel for how a dress looked and felt on when you were holding it together. In my opinion, they should have one of every size in every style available. Our stylist never really got with it to truly help us. He'd disappear for long periods of time, and couldn't make suggestions of alternative dresses to try on. He didn't seem versed or experienced in his role. Overall, what a disappointment. I don't know why David's Bridal is still the accepted standard for bridesmaid dress shopping. read more

I had gone to a few bridal boutiques and tried on dresses that were beautiful but none of them gave me the "this is MY dress" feeling. That completely changed when I went to David's bridal. I had this idea that David's bridal was a dress store with really pricey options, and I didn't really plan to come here at all. However, My mom and I came to David's bridal just to browse the options they had. Despite not having an appointment and coming an hour before closing, a consultant named Maya was extremely helpful with helping me find a dress similar to what I was looking for. I happened to come across the dress in the clearance section for $50! It was practically perfect, just needing dry cleaning and alterations, and for that price and the feeling it gave me, I HAD to leave with it. Maya assisted me with the fitting and envisioning the complete look on my wedding day. She quickly connected me with the lead seamstress to get a quote for alterations and ensure my vision was feasible. I am very happy with my experience at David's Bridal and I am obsessed with my dress I couldn't be happier! I'd recommend this place to friends and family especially to seek out Maya. Don't go to this bridal shop, they judge you right out of the gate if you don't look like you "belong there". First of all my mother and I accidentally went to alterations instead of the fitting rooms (while it was completely empty) and the woman who told us to go to the fitting room was very rude, gave me a look up and down and said "I'll allow you to finish this dress but after you need to go to the fitting rooms" she was snarky as all get out and was more rude to my mother. All the other people working there are super nice, but my gosh that woman was rude. Awful experience. We walked in for a 3:00pm alteration appointment and were told that we had a wait because two appointments were ahead of us. No big deal. I then try on my dress and no one is there to help me. The girl trying on her dress next to me just informed me that the lady helping her pinned herself and got blood on her wedding gown. Someone finally helps me and informs me that they did an incorrect bustle and I will need to come back another day. I specially brought my maid of honor with me so they could teach her how to tie the bustle. Not minutes later I realize that there is a black dirt mark on the front of the dress that was not there the last time I tried on the dress. Needless to say I decided to take my dress home with me and not get it altered further as they most likely would have damaged the dress further. Will never go back. To David's Bridal - you could do more than just post an automated message in response to this review. God knows you don't make any real changes based on these reviews. read more

Natalia was my appointment consultant helping me find a Mother of the Groom dress. After trying on some dresses she brought me THE dress that is perfect! She went over the available colors, ordering time frame - everything I needed to know. So happy! Natalia was wonderful to work with! The store itself is well lit (essential for trying on dresses) and the dresses are all very organized with (color, style, type) with many dresses on display as well. Going to my niece's wedding in November and wanted to see what David's bridal had in store. I was greeted by Anna who asked what I was looking for. I told her the event, my style and size. She personally walked me to the area and had the salesperson Mercedes help me. Mercedes was extremely helpful collecting styles and changing my sizes for me from the dressing room. I really appreciated that she gave me her honest opinion which I asked for as I was by myself. Lizzie checked me out and personally made sure my suit was wrapped nicely. They had a huge selection of colors, fabrics and styles. Prices were very reasonable and quality of fabrics was good. The outfit I bought can be worn for all dressy occasions after the wedding which is a definite plus! Also, my niece had signed up for loyalty rewards so she gets some credit towards a honeymoon with all of our family purchases. The best part was that I received 20% off my suit! I'm so glad I went there and I'm all set now. They have a huge variety to pick from (dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, veils and tierra's). Awful! If this was my first bridal appointment it probably would've made me dread going to another place. I made an appointment to try on dresses, got there, and showed the dresses I liked to the stylist. After the first dress she was nowhere to be found. We waited for a bit but she didn't come back. Confused my mom started helping me in and out of a couple of dresses, still the stylist is nowhere to be seen. All but one dress felt weirdly proportioned where it was hard to get an idea of what it could look like after alterations. I wanted to leave by dress number 3 but ended up trying the 8 she pulled for me since they were there. After like 15-20 min my stylist came back to the fitting room area with a second bride. That bride got far more attention than I did, she would wait there for her to put on the dress, help zip it up, clip where it needed to be clipped, etc. felt like I was just pushed to the corner. Not even bouncing back and forth between us. No "What do we think about that one?" If I found THE dress, she wouldn't even know. I was under the impression that the appointment would be 1:1 and that's why you'd make an appointment. Every dress felt and looked cheap. Most were wrinkled and had embellishments or beds falling off, missing or broken straps and other people's hair on them. The store was gross. Stained and dirty carpet benches for guests that were falling apart. I've used cleaner bathrooms at a gas station. There was a group before us eating takeout so the fitting room area smelled like fast food. All and all, unless you need a cheap wedding dress quick, go ANYWHERE else! read more

These 2 stars are for Anna. She helped me pick out my wedding dress when I had no clue what direction I wanted to go in, and she was lovely while doing so. Now the alterations department is totally different. For context my dress was off the clearance rack and for a few simple alterations I spent double the dress value. I wasn't upset about that as I figured it would be pricey. I was upset when I went to pick up my dress post- alterations and one of the sleeves was very obviously crooked, there was still a needle hanging in the dress, there still wasn't a clasp at the top of the zipper, and whatever they did to tighten my bum looked horrible and left a very weird fold. I asked them if they could fix whatever happened to the bum and they said it would be $88 I asked if that could be waived or discounted because it didn't lay that way before and I believed it to be the result of a poor alteration and the seamstress said I can take it home as is or pay the $88. If I'm buying a dress off the clearance rack, I'm clearly not a wealthy bride. I'm having an elopement versus a huge wedding. That $88 is a lot to me. My sister defended me and spoke to the manager and after repeating myself, having these workers surrounding me, and tears in my eyes because I have anxiety and people are staring at me, the manager finally waived the $88 for me and they fixed the bum. When I came back the third time the bum looked much better but the sleeve was still crooked which they fixed in about 15 minutes. You would think paying hundreds of dollars to a well known company your dress would be beautiful but they seemed very careless and rude. I would buy your dress and take it elsewhere for alterations. My first seamstress looked lost and confused and the second one was rude and stubborn. One of those people who "it's my way or the highway" didn't even try to see my perspective or explain what happened to the bum. Not to mention she made sly comments regarding my weight. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Fay. She is INCREDIBLE! She radiates good energy and was so kind while working with me to find the perfect dress for my wedding day. I came into the store exactly one month to my wedding day. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for and the selection admittedly wasn't great for my size. However, Fay found a bunch of different options for me and even compared online availability and shipping to make sure each dress I tried on would arrive in time for my wedding. She never pressured me to make a purchase or felt disingenuous for the sake of making a sale. She was truly a joy to work with and I can't recommend her enough. Sage Perkins, our stylist, did an amazing job at our visit to the Schaumburg David's Bridal yesterday. My wife and I came with my daughter and she showed us options for debutante/cotillion dresses. Sage listened carefully and brought us all of the things we wished to see style-wise. Because she knows the inventory so well, she also brought my daughter some other options that she thought might work and those were beautiful as well. Lastly, Sage has a creative flair and showed us purses, accessories, tiaras and shoes that might work once my daughter decided definitively on the right dress! I like that Sage listened but also brought insight to the process by explaining the highlights of some dresses and focal points of others when deciding. She also kept our budget in mind and even showed us some clearance dresses. Sage was meticulous about helping us make all the dresses look beautiful by fitting them with clips and using a petticoat underneath when necessary. Lastly, she was always so upbeat and kept the focus on us - not on herself or what else was going on in the shop. Other associates were also helpful from the door including the front desk and an associate of Sage's who provided good commentary. I cannot express enough how wonderful this store is and Sage is a five-star stylist! Very good experience at David's. The gowns are pretty and generally affordable as far as wedding dresses go. Lots of options to try different silhouettes and they do carry a range of prices. My consultant Farah was super sweet and it felt like I was shopping for a dress with a friend instead of a store worker. She was very attentive, helped pull a variety of dresses, and was super helpful overall. The store itself is pretty big, well-lit, and clean. The follow up email with the styles I liked and prices is a nice bonus. I ended up selecting a dress at another store so can't comment on the purchase/alterations process, but the in store experience was really good. read more

This is the place which really deserves 5 stars! First of all, the service is perfect! The girls who works there are really knowledgeable and customer oriented. They are nice and patient. I am not demanding personal but I am sure they know how to help even the most demanding bride. ago NEW My daughters wedding was 9/16/23. We went in to the Schaumburg, IL store to find her dress in May of 2022. Dress was found and purchased along with a veil and a dress bag with separate compartments for different items. Her veil was placed in its own zippered part of the bag. The dress stayed hung in the closet until it came time for alterations. We went back in for alterations closer to the wedding day, still everyone was great because we were still spending money at this point. Then she needed a bit more alterations to the side of the dress and they told her no, that they didn't have time for that (bad business) but whatever we took the dress to be finished somewhere else. Fast forward to the wedding day, she is getting ready and her veil is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! We went through the day without it, and she still looked beautiful. After all was done we called the store and yep, they had taken her veil out of the bag for some unknown reason and did not place it back in the bag. They stated they had called her 3 times and left messages. She was out of state and did not know they had called until I told her to check. They left 1 message regarding them keeping her veil. Had I messed up like that I would've called daily, maybe even twice daily until I got a hold of the bride. Heck, i believe they even have an address on file and they could've simply shipped it at their cost considering they messed up. This is a wedding we're talking about after all. When I went in to pick up the veil we no longer have use for the manager told me there was nothing she could do about it as they left her a message and because it was purchased over a year ago. Well, isn't that what you're supposed to do? And again, we didn't lose the veil, your employee took it out of the bag and kept it. This is in no way, shape, or form our fault. She had a smug look on her face the entire time, smirking and when I mentioned to her that it is unacceptable she repeated there was nothing she could do as this is above her pay grade. So you, as a MANAGER pick and choose the problems you handle that your employees created based on your pay? Bottom line, I will never shop there again and I suggest nobody else does either. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE. I bought my dress and 2 veils from David's Bridal. When I went for my first alteration on June 25th everything was going okay. A young girl was helping me out and didn't really direct me on how my dress should look on me. I told her I wanted to buy my veil that day also. Before I left the store I told the girl who was checking me out that I was GOING TO LEAVE MY VEIL IN WITH MY DRESS. The girl said it was fine. I was going back on July 28 anyway to see how my dress turned out. When I come back on July 28, my dress did not look good on me. It was very loose and did not hug my body how I would've liked it to be. So I had to come back AGAIN for another alteration. I made my appointment on August 18( a week before my wedding) I couldn't make an earlier appointment because they were "too busy" with other alterations. When I tried my dress on it was super tight on me and the dress would not make it past my butt. I was very frustrated because this was already my third time coming to the store. They were finally able to help me get into my dress. I walked around and I couldn't even sit on it AT ALL. My dress from my stomach area was still very loose. When I looked in the mirror my dress with heels on did not look good because you can see my heels even when I was standing. They told me that if I wanted to get another fitting it would have to be a day or two before my wedding. They finally figured out that the dress was tight because of the bottoms layer of my dress and they were able to fix that, but everything else they couldn't. I took the dress home and that was my last fitting The day before my wedding I opened it to hang my dress. I COULD NOT FIND MY VEIL. My dress comes with so many layers and and the tail it super long I didn't think about checking it my veil was in there because I was trusting them that it was in there where I had originally left it. I never took my veil home.My sister in law went to David's bridal and they told her I probably misplaced it. I NEVER TOOK IT HOME. They offered my sister in law another veil that wasn't even like the one I originally got for 1/2 off. They told her they would refund me for the other one if I come back and let the manager know. I come back after my wedding and they tell me they can't refund me. Again they were blaming me for misplacing it. I do regret leaving my veil there because they lost it. I was promised a call back from the manger to let me know if they were able to do anything but I never received a call. I didn't have a good experience with David's Bridal. Very unprofessional and expensive. I must've payed the same if not more for the alterations on my dress than the actual dress itself. read more

I was able to come in last minute last night and again this morning and she went above and beyond for me and found my dress! I had a great experience with this location of David's Bridal when I came here to pick out my wedding dress. I worked with the specialist named Theresa and she was so helpful and honest, and although I thought I knew what style I liked, I hated it on my body, so she was consistently asking me what I liked and disliked on certain dresses I was trying on so that she could pick out some other dresses for me. Ultimately, I tried on about 8 or 9 different dresses, some I chose and some she chose, and I LOVED two that she picked out for me. I got the last one I tried on that she picked out, and I cried, so I knew it was the one. It was so funny because it's the total opposite of what I thought I wanted, but I am IN LOVE with it. Just keep in mind that you need to keep an open mind when you go dress shopping, because the specialists can pick out some dresses and help, but unless you are allowing yourself to try styles on you didn't think you'd like, then you will be very unhappy with your experience. Anyways, I felt so good when I came here. Theresa, as well as two other sweet women, kept coming up to me when I was trying dresses on and saying such nice compliments. However, they were also honest when it came to certain sizes and fits, and that's what makes the experience so worthwhile. Once I chose what dress I was going to get, they gave me a bell, told me to close my eyes and wish what I wanted in regards to my wedding. Then, I was told to ring the bell. Such a cute little ritual. Fast forward a week from when I went dress shopping and we ordered the dress, I get a call that my dress is already in (which honestly sucked because my wedding isn't until Oct. 2021 and I went shopping so early in case COVID closes places down). However, I have never heard of a dress coming in a week! Normally places say 6-9 months later, so I was not expecting it. I had a wonderful experience finding my dress here. The stylist was very professional, and even helped my mom to try on some mother-of-the-bride dresses while we were there. The day was very nice. The salon was easy to work with during the pandemic shut-down. The dress itself was made beautifully, and I was very happy with it. I will caution you about alterations. Alterations are not included in the price of the dress. This is perhaps the norm for bridal salons, but with prior experience with tailors, I expected that when you pay this much for a dress, it would be made to fit. I paid $100 for a simple bustle (3 buttons added), and because of the shut down, wasn't able to pick up my dress until quite close to the wedding; it took about 1 month to get the dress back. The bustle was not done well (the dress was still way too long), and I stepped on it while trying on the dress at home and tore some of the tulle. Since it was the week of the wedding, I didn't have time to go through David's bridal to have this fixed. I took it to a local seamstress, who was able to repair it and do a proper bustle for a fraction of the price. Overall, a good experience and beautiful dress, but I would not have alterations or bustles done here. read more

I'm top heavy so I bought a big dress for a wedding, but the way it was altered was terrible. They added some "straps" in my dress to avoid my bra from showing- they were supposed to tuck into the bra- these said straps lasted about 2 minutes. The rest of the dress just dragged because it was big on account of me getting a big size to fit the top. The hem was off and crooked. Not worth the total $240 for dress and "alterations." Bought a bridesmaid dress of Amazon for $60 that looked way better than this one. read more

Having been a bridesmaid many times, I am familiar with having to make appointments and search for the right style of dress... but I wasn't too familiar with picking out a bridal gown. I had actually made a last minute appointment the night before (for a Friday) and the staff was very accomodating. Rayann was the BEST! I'm not a super girly girl but she made the process of elimination beyond easy. I definitely got lucky in the sense that the second dress I tried on was *hands down* the dress that I would eventually pick up, but Rayann gave me her honest, HONEST opinions about every dress we tried on that day and had very tactful and professional feedback on what worked and what didn't. The manager also chimed in and they helped me decide on the correct size for me and even made a great call on the offering of a "petite" size (I am short but I have an athletic frame with a booty, I don't normally refer to myself as petite, haha.) I really appreciated their help so, so much and hope that future shoppers have a similar experience. I ordered my gown near the beginning of March and I received it before April. I had an amazing experience here! Katie helped me pick out dresses and veils for me to try on. This was my first time even looking at wedding dresses. She was patient, friendly, and helpful. I came here to on a Saturday to try on bridesmaid dresses and it was pretty busy. I would highly encourage making an appointment if you want to try on a dress. If you do not make an appointment, expect to wait at least 30+ mins (especially on weekends). Pros -No wait as long as you make an appointment. -Staff is helpful and helps you for the duration of the scheduled appointment duration. Cons -Not as many chiffon bridesmaid dress options available to try on at the store. Prices range from $140+ for the BM dresses, but there are some options below $100 if it's on sale. The only issue with sale items is that it can be limited in size/color so it is not ideal if you have a lot of BMs and would like one specific dress for each BM. Tips Make sure you try on dresses asap once the wedding date is confirmed. Don't wait until last minute if you plan on buying dresses from here. It takes at least 20 weeks for Bridesmaid dresses to come in from the time you order. The delivery time varies depending on the dress though. Parking - Plenty of parking available and yes, it's free. Once we were ready to pay for the invites and submitted the promo code, we were told sorry this does not apply for this order. When I picked up the dress & made the alterations appointment, I asked for it at the Norridge location, since I live in the northwest side. She confirmed the day & time for this Thursday evening. Then we found someone who would alter them for much less (mine only needed to be hemmed). So I googled "David's Bridal Norridge" to get their number, & it said that location was permanently closed. I called the Schaumburg store & told them & the woman said that location had been closed for years & that I couldn't have made an appointment there. She searched me by phone number in the system & said she had record of my order, but no appointment. I told her that was fine since I had to cancel anyway, but expressed my disappointment that I would have shown up for a location & appointment that didn't exist. She asked if I knew who made the appointment, of course I didn't, it was a busy Saturday afternoon months ago! She apologized. Now I wake up this morning to an email from David's confirming my appointment in Norridge!!! So I definitely would have shown up, since I even have a confirmation email, to an apparently empty store. I did not end up purchasing my dress at DB, but I still wanted to take the time to write a review because I had a great experience at this location. First off - the store was very clean and beautiful compared to other DBs I've visited. It felt more like a specialty boutique than a large chain wedding store. Our representative Mercedes was awesome! She was sweet and kind, and listened to me when I told her what I was looking for. She kept Bri going me gowns that were exactly what I was looking for. She respected my privacy and also helped me maintain my modestly while helping me into and out of gowns. She continued to assist us over in the bridesmaid dress area after our appointment too. I had a great experience at this location working with Shirley. I had just come from Vernon hills, which was not bad, but they didn't have my size in the dresses I potentially wanted. When we called Schaumburg, they were able to get us in same day despite how busy they were (which was quite slammed). Schaumburg was a much nicer location overall, from the displays to the fitting rooms with Mirrors and the brightness- for some reason Vernon hills didn't have that. But the best part was working with Shirley whom made me feel really comfortable and happy to be there , I instantly felt connected to her and her knowledge and time she spent on the details for me were really appreciated. She never made me feel like she was pulled in all directions but I know she was. I felt really good there and ended up saying yes to the dress! read more

We love HOPE! She was the cherry to our sundae. She was personable, fun, and real. She stayed focused on the bride - there was never a moment where we felt that she was only focused on the sale. She asked the right questions and listened which resulted in her picking the PERFECT dress (and for a bride who admittedly is quite indecisive). A few years back I'd picked out my bridesmaid dresses from this store. About 3 months before my wedding, one of the bridesmaids went in to see the dress and they informed her that they were no longer sold there. They never even called me to tell me this. ENough said. That is unacceptable in my book. read more
