Don't try to bring more than two people with you either (no where for the them be and only standing room the entire time) I came twice - once during the time mentioned and it was tolerable but still a rushed service and not tailored to my needs or given any advice like I received from all the other bridal shops I went too. My mom, maid of honor, and myself came in here for some bridal shopping. I had used David's bridal for my first wedding and was familiar with their products so we wanted to look around. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, but told as a bride, I was unable to try anything on because you have to have an appointment. My mom and bridesmaid were welcome to try on formal dresses though. I ended up finding a clearance dress I loved but wasn't able to try on until later in the week. There weren't very many bridesmaid dresses or mother's dresses to shop from in store. Compared to the previous location, this one was nicer to look at, but so much smaller with a lot less inventory options. Their prices also have gone up a lot. They're, yes, you can find something on clearance or sale, but everything still starts at over $1000 per dress. These dresses are mass produced, so I feel the price is high for the quality. There are designer bridal boutiques in the state that start hundreds lower than db and also require an appointment but make it more personal. They used to allow walk ins and it's so disheartening that they don't anymore. I would have been happy to have my maid of honor help me in the dresses if a consultant was available. I may be back but ended up cancelling my appointment until I decide if this is the right shop for me. read more

VERY disappointed in our visit. Came with my future daughter in law in what we thought was going to be a wonderful experience. (I'd gone to David's and gotten my gown when I was a bride) They are in a different location now. Very "JC Penny' like. Small dressing rooms, no assistance from the consultant other than to hand you dresses and then let you know your 'time' is up and you can't try on others you'd selected to try. The dressing room area was completely overcrowded with standing room only. The bride-to-be couldn't even turn around and really look at her dress because there are hardly any mirrors and none where you can see the front and the back. When I'd gone years ago they had a stage with mirrors so you could actually see yourself AND a consultant that cared about making you feel special. I am SO disappointed for her because I had talked up what a magical experience it was going to be. We left horribly frustrated, with no questions answered, and she didn't even get to try on the dresses she had picked out during her required appointment. What a complete let down. 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend. read more

As a Say Yes to the Dress fanatic, I had high hopes for my David's Bridal experience. I booked an appointment for mid-day during the week and was ready to find the perfect bridesmaids dress for my brother's upcoming wedding. My experience, unfortunately, was more warehouse madness than magical TLC moment. I made an appointment to try on dresses and assumed this meant I would be paired with a stylist who could help me pick the most flattering dress. However, I ended up sharing my stylist with 3 other people, so she wasn't really present until I was ready to pay. I brought my friend with me and she ended up having to be the one to zip me up and run to grab different styles and sizes. I found a dress that I liked, but they did not have a sample in my size. My dress size is 8. When I told the stylist this, she told me that I looked more like a 12. Formalwear sizing is weird, so I trusted her and ordered the 12 on February 3. Months go by and I had no communication about when my dress would be ready for pickup. I called 3 times to check in on it and finally, in June it was ready and was shipped to me. I was excited to try on the dress and surprise - I'm not actually a size 12 like the stylist said. The dress was way too big. This is where things went downhill fast. I went to return my dress and was told that I couldn't return my dress after February 10. It didn't matter that I didn't receive my dress until June 23. I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to return a dress that hasn't actually left the warehouse yet. Thankfully, the corporate customer service line was really helpful and said that I should be able to return my dress within 7 days of receiving it. I had corporate give that to me in writing, and only after showing the store that was I given a refund. I'm glad I checked or else I would be out $150 for a dress that didn't fit. I won't be ordering my replacement dress from David's Bridal. From a mediocre experience during my shopping trip to a truly asinine returns policy, I was all around disappointed. Being a part of a wedding is supposed to be magical, and David's Bridal did not bring any magic to my experience whatsoever. read more

I wasn't aware you couldn't walk into a David's bridal and not try on a dress right there and then. We had traveled over an hour to go in there and the woman at the desk told me I could only try on dresses if I had appointment. We were in there around 11:30 ish and the next appointment was 3. She told me they only kept sizes 2-4 on the floor and needed that appointment so they could pull sizes from the back. Regardless of being denied service unless we wanted to wait for 3 hours we walked around and noticed a lot of beautiful dresses in my size. I'm surprised the company would have such a policy that would allow potential sales to walk right back out the door. read more

"I DO" believe this is the most chaotic place I've ever seen! Yes, I know it's the go to place for brides, but I was a pretty overwhelmed when I walked in with my friends to go bridesmaid dress shopping. I've seen amusement parks with less crowds. Taffeta, lace, satin, crinoline and tulle flying everywhere. Bells ringing, people clapping and cheering - was I at a boxing match? It was crazy. Or maybe we just came at a popular time but we could barely walk through the mayhem. We made our way to the back, away from the pandemonium, and found a little dressing nook for us to camp out while we searched for our garments. You've never seen so much fabric in your life! The girls and I tried on several gowns... sometimes one we liked didn't have everyone's size. After some diligent searching, much to our delight and surprise, we all found the perfect matching dresses for our bride's upcoming nuptials. The price for the dresses were very reasonable and they were also on sale! Checking out was much less hectic than coming in. It was a nerve-racking experience but we were relieved and thrilled to have accomplished our mission! read more

We made an appointment time t to try on Mother of the Groom dresses. Wow. This place is rocking on a Saturday. The lovely Teea (spelling unconfirmed) set my sister up in her own dressing room. We arrived 20 minutes early and were able to walk the floor looking at dresses. We picked out a total of five and waited 15 minutes beyond our appointment time t time to get the room. There was not a problem. There was a nice sitting area for us to wait our turn. And every staff member was focused on their guests. Tried on all five dresses and narrowed it down to two. The manager on the floor came over and asked questions focused on what my sister really wanted and what she was comfortable in. So nice! After making certain the dress met her comfort requirements - perfect dress purchased. Perfect experience from making the appointment time by phone to purchasing the dress. May have been busier than we would have liked - but we stayed focused and you don't really pay much attention to what's going on around you. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I held back tears during my appointment from the level of unprofessionalism and lack of attention from my consultant. My MOH booked my appointment a month out for Today (a Sunday) at 10:30 am. I assumed having an early appointment we could make the most of what was supposed to be a special day. My best friend and MOH drove from New Hampshire to take me on my first bridal dress appointment since my engagement last fall. We arrived happy, excited nervous and prepared. My appointment was at 10:30. The stored opened at 10:30 which was immediately a red flag seeing as with covid restrictions you're only allowed 1 hour and 5 dresses. There was a line and many other brides/wedding parties in the parking lot awaiting the store opening. When the door opened we were greeted by the store manager who immediately said, "good morning ladies, just want to let everyone know we are double booked today." Which was red flag number two. HOW THE HECK DO YOU DOUBLE BOOK CONSULTANTS WITH COVID RESTRICTIONS AND HOUR APPOINTMENTS !!!!???? The appointment was rushed. Took away the entire experience. Luckily we got in quick and met our consultant. I immediately gave the consultant the 4 skus I picked out from the website, I told her my wedding theme, budget for dress and shared the swatches for my bridal party dresses. While we waited for her to pull the dresses, she encouraged us to shop the floor. After about 20 min my room was ready. Red flag number 3 I had about 35 min to try on 5 dresses. The store was packed so never mind social distancing. The store was hot considering nerves, lack of seating, the amount of people inside and the weight and thickness of some of the dresses. I immediately sweat out my blow out in the fitting room which was cramped. I wasn't offered water. My consultant being doubled booked barely assisted. If it weren't for my MOH, I wouldn't have gotten zipped, or my dress clamped. The other appoint my consultant had was a bridesmaid who seemed to take up most of her time. In all honesty, I felt like I deserved more attention considering I'm a BRIDE on her first ever appointment. A bridesmaid appointment shouldn't have taken precedent over a bride. That's just common sense. My consultant couldn't do her job today. It was obvious my consultant dropped the ball because another consultant helping a girl next to me helped clamp and adjust the train of one of the dresses I was trying on. Every time I needed my consultant, she was no where to be found. I literally held back tears for my family who watched my appointment VIA zoom. I found one dress I loved. The consultant finally appeared and asked if we wanted to see a veil. We agreed and she brought one. While we were adjusting it I was too distracted by my hair being a mess, which I got done specifically for my appointment. I was sweaty and felt completely uncomfortable being in a $1300 dress in this condition. We requested clamps for support and to really see the shape of one and I was given these cheap dollar tree plastic pins you'd use to hang clothes. I had on one of the most expensive dresses in the store which was fairly heavy and beaded and the claps could not hold the dress so spent the entire time in the dress holding it up instead of standing in the mirror and taking it all in. The dress was strapless and slightly heavy, not to mentioned I am a well endowed woman so support is key. Again, awful service. Again, holding back tears of anger and frustration because now I had 10 min left for my appointment. Via zoom, my mom teared up which was reassuring the dress could be the one but under the stress and discomfort and frustration and lack of service, I WAS READY TO GO. The consultant had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to "ring the bell" and I looked at her like she was crazy and just said "no." As I was changing back into my clothing, my MOH went to speak to the manager. I walked to the front to meet her and speak to her as well. She was polite and apologetic but it did not feel genuine. She kept saying, "I want to make this right for you" and offered me 10% off. If you log on David's Bridal right now, they offer you a 10% coupon just for going to the site so I did not think it was a fair apology. I expressed my disappointment, explained my friend drove 11 hours to meet me for this appointment in Richmond (I drover over an hour from where I live in VA) and how today did not meet our expectations and the service was the worst we've ever experienced. I'm a first time bride. I've never been dress shopping until today. I was prepared and excited. I left in tears and feeling defeated. Today was already hard because my mom and grandma could not be with me in this moment but this appointment really sucked. I'm so upset. All my excitement diminished. read more

Do yourself a favor, do not shop here! I had the worst experience I ever had with a retail establishment at this poor excuse for a bridal store. I try to not be hard on stores as I worked 22 years in a department store and just recently quit, but there's no excuses for the absolute misery David's Bridal caused me. Out of 3 appointments with David's Bridal shop, only 1 went well. That visit was the very first one when I chose my dress. Being a store, obviously they want to make money so it went well. I ordered my dress, veil, and slip as they didn't have my size available at the store. That brings us to a month later during my alterations appointment. This visit, and the following one went horrible. My mother , who attended all 3 visits with me had to step out of the building for a moment and that's when all hell broke loose.The visit started off bad when they didn't have my dress, veil or slip ready. I was accused of taking everything home with me earlier. I told them I had not taken home anything and told them to go search for everything which they didn't comply with.They tried to say my receipt said that I took it home. That was quickly proven false when I showed them my copy of the receipt where no such indication was listed. I've worked retail 22 years, I know how to read a receipt. When that excuse failed, they tried to say everything was in my little tote bag that contained my shoes and undergarments. The tote bag was way too small for that! My mother who had come back into the store finally got through to them to go look for everything. They were able to locate everything except the veil which ended up having to be reordered. When everything but the veil had been finally found, my alterations appointment began in earnest. This next point isn't the workers' fault but it still made everything difficult. Every associate working in the alterations department that day spoke limited English. That's fine, but there needed to be someone who could translate between English speakers and non English speakers. They couldn't understand me, I couldn't understand them. It wasn't easy for either party. The worker would tell me to do something and get frustrated when I wouldn't understand. When my mother and I asked them to add a panel to the back to cover my bra and back and also NOT to take in the bust, she didn't understand. She did decide to put a bra catch in the back, but not the panel we wanted. This brings me to the final appointment. I went to try on the dress and then was being handed the slip to put on under the dress when I heard both my mom and the worker gasp. Despite having a full month to alter everything, they had FORGOTTEN to hem the slip. I don't live close to David's Bridal and my wedding was the following week. My mom tried to keep me calm and also tell them it had to be hemmed right then, that it was ridiculous we waited a full month for them not to hem it. If I had known then what was going to happen next, I would have preferred for them to have forgotten to hem the dress as well! The dress looked nice on me, felt horrible! I knew I had been very careful in what I ate, and exercised even more than my normal amount so it wasn't anything on my end-I actually had lost some weight- It broke out my back in red splotches since the panel wasn't put in. I communicated this with the worker but all I got was QR code to rate them a positive review. It wasn't until later at home that my mother and I realized what the problems were. Despite us telling them in the previous visit not to, they had taken in the bust with 2 hems and had started to add bra stays but hadn't finished. They broke the clasp and replaced it with a thin thread. Thankfully, my family has a close family friend who is a very talented seamstress and she was able to fix everything, take out the seams they put in to take in the bust, removed the unfinished bra stays,fixed the clasp and added fabric in the back. If it wasn't for my friend, I would have been miserable on my wedding day. Also pertaining to customer service, they were very rude and didn't seem to be concerned about my wellbeing or what I wanted. I left the last 2 visits shaking and nearly in tears from being so stressed out by the rudeness. With the amount I had to pay, I expected far better service! I recommend other brides-to-be to go elsewhere. David's Bridal responded to this review elsewhere saying they would contact me after discussing it with the Richmond store. It's been a month and they have yet to do do. I paid $500 for the dress alone, $150 for the veil, $160 for the slip. The alterations were close to $400- and they did a horrible job that my family friend graciously fixed. I so wish I had asked my family friend from the start to do all the alterations, none of the hassle would have happened. Please future brides, save yourself the hassle and do not go here! read more

I went to David's bridal for a bridesmaid's dress for an upcoming wedding in October in order to match the bride's desired color palette. I tried on a dress that very clearly fit me but I wanted a size up for comfort (a size 2 to a 4). The lady helping me, Sam, questioned my sizing and kept pushing for me to try a larger size than what I was asking for- like an 8 or 10. Mind you, my build is very petite and muscular, so naturally I go towards the smaller end of sizing. I then tried on a different style dress in the same material in a size 4 to show that it VERY clearly fit, and she pinched my stomach and kept asking if I thought it was too tight when the sides clearly had more than enough room to move around in. once I got to finally convince her I wanted to order a size 4, she responds with "well you can't gain any weight from now until October," which was extremely uncalled for. I am not a very "big" individual, and have struggled with eating disorders and body image for years. comments like this are completely uncalled for and when it is repetitive and unnecessary, it made my experience very frustrating. you never know what a comment will affect someone, and the comments and the way this employee acted was completely disrespectful. read more

Yesterday was my first time coming to this location. My wedding is in August and I knew it was time to find a dress. I did not have an appointment but I was worked in and quickly taken to look at dresses. My consultant Cassi was helpful and very nice. She listened to my budget desires and we found a dress that checked ALL my boxes! My dress was under $250! They also had my daughter set up beside me to try on some dresses as well. Went in with my daughter just to browse for a very minimalistic/beachy wedding and was knocked off my feet by C'era (Sierra* not sure how to spell)!! She was incredible, I told her I was eloping in May in Mexico and had a very minimalistic sexy view and she immediately pulled 3 dresses that I was OBSESSED with. Seriously idk how I will choose. Considering I was a WALK-IN () I did not expect to find things I truly loved. But she proved me wrong. Now I'm setting up an appointment with my family to decide which one of those gorgeous dresses I'm taking home. I love her. Seriously. Not to mention, she found my daughter a dress, who is; maid of honor, flower girl, main girl etc and she's also obsessed with her find. Wish I could give this queen more than 5 stars. Yikes. Not a great experience. I had an appointment for a Saturday afternoon. It took at least 10 minutes for the consultant to come out and bless her heart she was not very helpful. She seemed really new and unsure of herself. She pulled a couple of dresses based on what I said I was looking for and took me back to a cramped dressing room with no mirror or bench/table in it- so weird! I guess I'm expected to put the clothes I was wearing on the floor? The place didn't seem very clean and it was PACKED and loud and chaotic. I got anxiety just walking in. We were crammed in a small area where there wasn't enough seating and nowhere to stand except right in front of dressing room doors. 2 of my bridesmaids sat on the stage area to try to stay out of the way and a consultant told them they had to move because they were blocking a walkway. I'm sorry, but maybe you could place us in an area that is big enough for my group (which I informed them about when I made the appointment). The sample dresses were dirty, stained, and had rips/snags in them. I was honestly kind of grossed out by the whole experience. I tried on a few but quickly decided to head to our next appointment. I know this place is more for "budget" gowns but I was trying on dresses around $1,000 and the value was not there. They were all itchy and uncomfortable! If I'm paying $1,000 for a dress I have high expectations for it. We went to two other bridal salons in Richmond that had dresses sticking to the same budget that were clearly higher quality, gorgeous and comfortable. We also got amazing service at the other salons and had a relaxing, enjoyable experience. I wouldn't recommend this salon, but would 100% recommend either Tiffany's bridal which is nearby or Bridal Elegance in Short Pump. read more

From the time I called to make an appt the person on the phone was rude and unprofessional. That set the tone and boy was it accurate. Place was very dirty. There was a huge centipede on one of the dresses in the rack and I saw dead roaches in the bathroom this made me feel extra uncomfortable during this covid time. Everyone there was rude except for the stylist that helped me. She was pretty nice compared to the others and did help me find couple good options. But the rest of the staff was not the same. I took my mask down for 2 seconds and a lady came over to yell at me loudly to put it back on and followed me until I did. I felt rushed and comfortable the whole time. I've been to another DB in Springfield, VA that is the complete and utter opposite. Richmond DB could take some notes from them! read more

Ordered 2 flower girl dresses in store, after getting measurements from their employees, went ahead and ordered the dresses to be shipped to our home. Fast forward 2MONTHS! We finally got our dresses and the sizing is all wrong. I went to the store to try a different size and it is still completely off. So I decide to return the dresses and last minute look for something else and they inform me I had 7 days from when I purchased to return. I don't know how I can return an item that I didn't receive until 2 months later. Store credit won't do as I do not need anything else and nothing else in store matched for the wedding! I came here last year and bought my wedding dress from here and had a fabulous experience. From beginning to end. I brought my sister in law to find her dress here because of that. On Sunday we came here to find her wedding dress and bridesmaids dress. The lady that "helped" us did not really help us. She pulled up some dresses and told us where our dressing room was. My sister in law got into the dressing room to try them on. I helped my sister in most of the dresses. I went to look for shoes and a belt for her to try on with the dresses as well. The lady kept going MIA. One time she came back and saw that I was clipping up the dress because it was too big and and rushed to do it. She went to put a dress away and legit did not come back for about 20 mins. When she came back we had already went to look for bridesmaid dresses, tried them on and I was getting dressed back into my clothes. When I came out she was sitting in the shoe section looking completely out of it. When I came in the last time and had found my perfect dress, a manager came out and congratulated me and I got to ring this bell. My sister wasn't given that same experience. It was kind of sad actually. The day you find your dress you're supposed to feel special and happy. The lady that so called "helped" us ruined that for my sister. RUDE. read more

Ugh this place.. I found a dress that was a million times nicer and actually MY size for a fraction of the cost of theirs! When I went I gave the budget I had to work with but all the dresses brought to me were over by at least a hundred bucks and NONE of them my size! I can't possibly be the only size 16/18 woman that lives near this shop!! I had so many styles picked out online that I was sure I'd find one but turns out they only had two of the actual dresses for me to try on and neither of them my size.. get it together Dave.. I went to ModCloth, but I saw tons of dresses on websites that delivered dresses within two weeks cut specifically to your liking! I had heard some not so great stories about their products and customer service, so I was wary as I was making my appointment. I only wanted to go with my Mom and myself the first time, so we both ended up taking a half day of work so I could make my appointment at 3pm on a Thursday. I'm telling you guys, this is the time to do it if you can swing it! My mom and I had the entire store to ourselves as I tried on dresses! First, I just have to say that my attendant Vikki, was AHHHHMAZING! I highly recommend her. I was super anxious about trying on dresses and not knowing what I wanted, and it was like shopping with a friend! I came in with a ton of screenshots from their online dresses and she did her best to find every single one in store/in my size! She was SO patient when I was indecisive and was super supportive when I wanted to try on some dresses again. She was awesome helping me put on the super huge dresses, and even grabbed a corset for me so I could see how the appropriate undergarments would look with each dress. Because it was my first trip EVER trying on dresses, I didn't know exactly just how good I had it until I stopped by another locally owned/non-chain store and got less than stellar service. Vikki helped me get into every single dress, she helped me button/lace up each one and helped me carry the train each and every time. I thought this was just something an attendant did, but at this other shop, the attendant just threw the dress at me and then turned her back! So I was very appreciative of the attention and help! Ultimately, I have one more shop I want to check out before I make this purchase, but so far I found a David's Bridal dress that is the top of my list! My mom and I both cried when I put it on and when Vikki found me a belt and a veil, the whole thing just got that more real. I'll most likely be purchasing my dress at David's Bridal so I can't wait! :) Also, for procrastinators like myself, Vikki says that the longest it takes to order a David's Bridal dress is around 22 weeks, and she said most styles only take a few weeks at best! read more

Tonight I had one of the most racist experiences of my life. Let me start from the beginning. A few days ago I made an online appointment. The process included me sharing my Pinterest board as well as they types of dresses I like. When I arrived on time, I was told to wait and browse because my stylist was finishing up with another bride. After 20 minutes, my stylist comes and asks me did I see anything I liked. I told her that I assumed she would have already pulled dresses for me based on what I had previously sent. My girlfriends who were with me picked some dresses for me to try on, because my stylist had not and did not. As I started trying on dresses, she was helping another bride in the dressing room next to mine who came in AFTER I did. Apparently, they had double booked the stylist. The woman next to me comes out in the type of dress that I had on my board and my styling profile. My friends asked where that dress was and the stylist said the customer had come in a few days prior and said she was coming back that night so she held it in the back without a deposit. Then the other customer kept coming out of the dressing room with the styles I had previously asked for. My friend asked if I could try on the ones that the other woman had finished trying on. That was not an option. At that point I had had enough. I put my clothes back on. In the meantime, my white girlfriend went to the manager and heard our stylist talking to her complaining how frustrated she was with us! My friend told the manager the whole story-the true story. By this time I had come out of the dressing room and the manager was trying to say something to me and I told her no thank you and it was the worst experience and I left in tears. My girlfriend who spoke to the manager did it so I didn't have to. She wanted her to know that she saw the racism and stood up for me. I will NEVER shop there again! read more

I bought a dress and the wedding ended up getting cancelled I was really upset because the dress was non refundable but a helpful kind lately named Angela took her time and helped me exchange my dress for other items in the store! She helped me locate bridal gifts and other goodies she was very patient and professional I would recommend their services to anyone! read more

I was not into going to David's Bridal for any of my wedding fashions. However, they did have some bridesmaid dress styles that I thought were worth taking a gander at. So gander, we did. Poor things, I dragged my maids of honor around town last weekend to what seemed like every single bridal store in town to look for a bridesmaid dress. At first, the people at David's Bridal told me that I had to make an appointment, so I made one. But we decided to walk in to see if we could take a peek at the dress that I had seen online. We walked into a mad house. Think: Walmart. Mind you, I don't shop at Walmart for this reason. People everywhere. Disorganization. Cheap products. Just, no. We quickly realized that we should have abided by my original plan to not shop there in the first place. There was no customer service at all. No fitting rooms. It was basically a free for all. I don't think an appointment would have made it better either. Ladies, if you're going to come here on a weekend, just prepare for war. read more

This place is horrible. The customer service is scarier than the dresses. My sister got there for her appointment at 11:30. She was acknowledged at 12:00. Only one other customer was in there. The bridesmaids picked out a couple dresses and asked to try them on. They stated there was no fitting room available. They had more than 40 available fitting rooms. They put four, yes, four of us into ONE room. After we tried on the dresses, one of the employees came over and said her manager said we couldn't try on anymore dresses because of the 'special beading' on them. I looked her straight in the eye and told her they were ugly and it looked like my 12 year old sister bedazzled them with her bedazzler gun so we were good. At this point I wanted to leave but my sister was only in town for another day so wanted to stay. The rest of the visit got worse as they ignored my sister and said they needed to focus on the maid of honor they had there. We left and will never return. read more

CARLTON. That is all I have to say. He is by far what gives this place each one of their stars. If you go here you have to work with him. I have been to many places looking for a wedding dress. I tried on every type of dress, many were gorgeous. Many with nice stylists. But he was the difference. He was worth every penny I spent for my dress and really gave you that special experience every bride is hoping for. When you first walk in, you don't get the warmest welcome but hold off for your judgment. The dresses are a little overwhelming but they have all the styles and all prices ranges. They are a little on the cheaper side but the dress I bought was gorgeous and I think it was of great quality. I was skeptical of going here but Carlton completely changed my mind. I would suggest this place but only on the basis you work with him and let go of the appearance. I'm happy I made the appointment. read more

I'm not a huge fan of David's Bridal.... at all... but compared to other locations that I've been, this one is somewhat better. It has a larger selection because it's just a bigger store. But you can still expect it to be disgustingly crowded and overbooked. read more

I had an appointment this past Thursday at David's Bridal on West Broad. My decision to visit this store was based off of a WONDERFUL experience that I had had with my sister at a David's Bridal in Roanoke, VA. This, unfortunately, did not live up to my expectations. To begin, I walked in at 5:55 PM (5 minutes early) and waiting about 5 minutes to be spoken to. Then, I was asked if I had an appointment and I confirmed, sharing my name and my appointment time. She said it would be just a moment. I waiting 15 minutes for a consultant to approach me. Not a great start. She only asked me a few questions: when was I getting married and did I have any specific dresses that I would like to try on. I told her the exact style that I was looking for, but I was getting married at the beach, so I was open to anything that would be appropriate for that destination. She sat me down with a catalogue and told me to pick out some dresses that I would like to try on. This is where the "service" ended. This consultant was, and had been, working with another bride across from where I was sitting. I barely saw her the entire evening. I just sat there waiting for her to come back and see which dresses I had chosen. In total, I had chosen about 12 dresses to try on. She was only able to find 6. No alternatives were given, no suggestions were made, and she did not even help clip my dress to help me visualize a proper fit. Bottom line: I am not sure why they even take appointments. I haven't felt that neglected in a place of business in quite a while. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this location to anyone. read more

Don't even waste your time. I've gone in here on 3 occasions and all three times everything they said they had in stock, they didn't. Customer service is absolutely terrible, rude and act like it's an obligation to help you. All three times I've came in were accessories related but I would never come here for my dress. Ladies, if I had problems for something small as accessories, spare yourself the headache and do not come here for a dress. The material on majority of the dresses felt very cheap and even the "higher end" dresses like Vera Wang and Oleg Cassini are still are not comparable to designer dresses that you can buy from a local boutique that have around the same price range with much better quality material(which also puts those nice designer gowns on clearance!). The local boutiques will treat you with much better customer service and give you that experience that you see on TV. Don't expect that here, many of them look like they're counting down to the end of their shift. It also doesn't help that this is the only location in Central Virginia, so there's nothing to compare their crappy service to. It's a real inconvenience that the next closest stores are in NOVA and the 757. I made 3 mistakes before and since this last trip, I won't be making the same mistake again. read more

If I could give them a zero I would! Came in for a fitting and the dress was FILTHY! I know and understand that they are "try on" dresses. However that is no excuse for them not being cleaned! After refusing to put that nasty garment on I did a quick online search for other bridal shops and came across "Azazie" google them u will thank me later! Also while doing my search I over heard someone having an issue with the alterations being poorly executed...yikes! Hey Britt and Kristen, you should have saved ur reply! Bc my issue is the same issue as many others dating YEARS back! However, you all have yet to have those dresses cleaned or done away with! Therefore, ur concern isn't genuine nor sincere! Me and my fiancee dropped by this store yesterday to browse and start looking for bridesmaid dresses. This is during Phase 3 of Reopening in the area. We walked in after putting on our masks and the manager asked if we had an appointment. We didn't, because we just wanted to see if they had anything that we would like. The manager gave us the COVID-19 rules and regulations and then said the store "wasn't set up for browsing" but we could look at a display of maybe 15 dresses directly in front of the door. There wasn't anything that really caught our eye, so we quickly got bored. We were then facing the other dresses that were on hangers to the side, to look from a distance and she approached us and told us again that the store "wasn't set up for browsing". After this we promptly left. There should be an "appointments only" sign on the door OR the store shouldn't be open to the general public at this time. Literally, the worst experience I've ever had inside of a bridal store ever. If the store is too bad off to browse, it should be closed. We will not be back nor use David's Bridal for any aspect of our wedding. Don't bother going here if the pandemic is still going on b/c they won't let you look at anything without an appointment where they can follow you around and badger you to death.
