I'm actually amazed that you have a 4.8 star rating on Google. I wish our group and the bride-to -be received the bridal experience all of the other ones that rated you high received. We walked into your store without a greeting. We had an appointment and we were just told to wait to the side until they could locate my daughter's Consultant. Shaylynn was my daughter's consultant. She asked my daughter about the Dresses that she had already selected. Shaylynn couldn't find the selection on her tablet, so my daughter brought up the pictures and Shaylynn took pictures of my daughter's pictures on her phone. Shaylynn did a great job picking dresses. However, that's where it ended. My daughter's matron of honor was the one that helped my daughter in the dressing room putting dresses on and off, tying up her corsets, and holding dresses together that didn't fit. When we asked for some kind of bungee to hold the dress together, we were given what looked like two chip clips and a rubber band. This was my daughter's bridal experience. I would think after all these years, David's bridal would step up and become a bridal store that competes with all the other others.. If my daughter chose a dress there, I'm trying to think who would've gotten the commission because no offense Shaylynn was just picking dresses. My daughter's matron of honor did all the work. Luckily, we went to another Bridal shop that actually treated my daughter like a bride. That experience is what we expected and we received. My daughter did say yes to the dress at that shop. My daughter was treated special and as a person not just a face in a building of dresses. Let me end this by saying there was another group at the other bridal shop that had just left your facility who was talking about how awful their experience was at your facility. This makes me wonder how embellished your 4.8 rating is. read more

Went in today to find a bridesmaid dress, Candy helped me find one that was perfect for me! She gave me honest opinions and was so so kind! She told me she was a newer employee and had only been there about a month, I would have thought she had years of experience! On top of that my dress was a very reasonable price. Had a very great experience with Candy and David's Bridal. *EDIT TO ADD* When I went to pickup my dress the manager got my dress for me and put me in a fitting room to see how it fit, she then proceeded to disappear, and I went in alone so I had no one to help me zip it up. I stood outside the dressing room and no one came by to help so I got my dress and left. Was very displeased with my second time there. But still stand by how incredible Candy was on my first visit. read more

I literally cannot make this up. We had an appointment for our wedding party to try on bridesmaid's dresses. I just had a baby and my sons grandma (who has arthritis) came to hold him so I could try on dresses. She went to sit in one of the chairs to hold the baby and the management came and told us not to touch the chairs and that we cannot sit in them because they don't have enough chairs for wedding parties today (there was 4 of us total and we only tried to use one chair) & that people for PROM were here (because ya know that's way more important than someone's wedding, not to mention we booked an appt, prom people were just walk ins) on top of that literally not a single other person sat in those chairs the whole time we were there. Oh sorry someone did sit in it to put their shoes back on. We were then told that we weren't allowed to go and look at any other dresses or touch them. We have to look at a picture in a book and have someone pull the dresses for us. The books pictures were barely an inch and a half big and they were all wearing it in a nude color could barely even see! I never had this told to us at any other David's bridal) but everyone else who came for prom was going through all the racks and taking like 10 dresses at a time. I wasn't even allowed to sit in any of the chairs to nurse my newborn, I was told to stand. I still can't believe it. read more

Prior to coming I told someone I'd be looking here and they said to avoid coming due to "employees being snobby" but my experience was total opposite! My wedding dress was ordered in the incorrect size, and being 2 months from my wedding and Davids Bridal being temporary closed due to COVID-19, I was super stressed out! Julie went out of her way to ease my concerns and ensured me that my dress could be altered at no charge when the stores reopen. Julie was super nice and very attentive and determined to fight for my case. It is so uncommon nowadays to see such great customer service - such a breath of fresh air. The bride and I made appointment for this David's Bridal during "Wedding World" at LMC in Benton Harbor. We drove an hour through a snow storm the day of our appointment. When we got to David's Bridal they had messed up our appointment and wanted to reschedule even though it was their error and we drove all the way through a snow storm. We did have a new girl in training that actually did very well and was very professional. She was great but there should have been management to follow up with any mis guided information. During check out when purchasing my bridal dress I made it clear I was moving to Texas and had some concerns If I needed to change the style of the dress or have it shipped etc. My bride was not sure if she wanted the longer or shorter version. I paid for the longer dress (was told I could switch). Well the bride changed her mind and wanted the shorter version so I called right away. I called the store and spoke with the manager Meghan. It was on 12 days after the 30 day Return policy. I was told now after only 42 days (12 after return policy) the short version of the dress was now discontinued. The manager would not let me return the dress when I just wanted to buy another (shorter/ different style) She said quote "I might let you get a different dress but you have to come in the next few days and the dress as to be the same price as the last one and it is only up to our discretion we do not have to do this" My response was that as long as the bride is happy I am willing to just lose money on the difference of the dress (meaning I wouldn't get any money back and may end up paying more) But was still told that was not an option the new dress would have to be the exact same price and taken care of in a few days and No I could not have this issue resolved at a David's Bridal in Texas. I was not allowed to just return the dress and buy another at the Texas location either. This is a corporate chain. I have worked in management and retail sales for corporations/ private business's for over 12 year and have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources. David's Bridal does have the authority to fix issues like this if they want but they do not.This is a wedding... We are here to spend a large amount of money for a fun and truly special occasion. There is going to be certain situations that occasionally happen (rarely). This was a weird scenario and I can see this company cares more about profits than making the customers truly happy. There was bad communication from this David's bridal from beginning appointments, not accurate information, and unwilling to find a positive solution. This is very poor customer service. Now I am stuck with the wrong dress because of only 12 days and have to find a good local seamstress because I can no longer support this company morals and ethics after being told I could switch the same dress but shorter previously or return it untouched and get a new one in Texas. My other bridal friend had a wedding summer of 2018. She purchased her dress and asked for a specific seamstress quote that she was told was $50. When she came to pick up she received a $200 bill and just cried for days. This is not the first time this specific location has ruined a wedding for a friend of mine and made it even more costly for the customer again during a time that is suppose to be special and fun. I would just caution anyone using this specific location moving forward or strongly recommend to support a smaller business around you instead. You may save money, have fun and have it be less costly without added stress. read more

I am giving a 3 star rating because I was very happy with my dress buying experience, however, very unhappy with the alterations process. I would recommend this business for finding your perfect dress! The sale staff were very sweet and helpful. The alterations team even came and showed me what my requested additions would look like. I left very pleased and excited. Unfortunately, I would not recommend utilizing their alteration services. The first alteration appointment was a fitting and went smoothly. The second alteration was intended to be a bustling appointment. When I tried the dress on after it was hemmed, it was 3+ inches too long and very uneven. We had to completely re-hem the entire dress. We still fitted the bustle. When I returned for my final fitting - the third appointment - the dress was still too long and uneven. The bustle dragged on the ground and the right side was still longer than the left. I expressed my concerns to the seamstress (a different person than I had met with before). After I told her the bustle was too long and the dress hem still didn't appear to be right, she simply handed me the clipboard and asked me to sign for it. I continued to express my concerns and she blankly stared at me and said nothing. She did not provide any solution other than to sign the clipboard and leave. It was so frustrating to speak to someone and have them say absolutely nothing! When you pay $1000 for a dress and $500 for alterations, you are expecting to leave with what you paid for. I was never contacted regarding my dissatisfaction. Again, the sales team I met with was wonderful! Such a bummer regarding alterations, though. read more

As a Matron of Honor-to-be, I took my Bride-To-Be here as a first choice to look at gowns. I purchased my daughter's prom dress here and had a great experience, so I was expecting the same result this time. Not the case. Our sales girl briefly told us her name (which was so fast that we lost it), and asked what the Bride had in mind for styles, colors, sizes, etc. After browsing around and finding very few to try on, we followed her back to a dressing room. Here, she explained that they have the customers wear undergarments under the gowns. She asked the Bride what her size was and gave her a corset and showed her into the dressing room. After giving us the ill-fitting corset, she disappeared for 15 minutes, leaving us sitting in the dressing room with no corset to wear and no sales girl to get a different one. After finally returning with numerous different ones that went up to 10 sizes bigger and still ran too small, the Bride wore one that just barely fit enough to put a dress over. When the Bride was able to start trying on her chosen dresses, we both came out expecting the sales girl to be nearby to give some input on the fit, possible alteration options, etc. She was nowhere to be found. All 3 times. The Bride ended up giving up, feeling humiliated and ignored, and got dressed. She didn't bother with the last 2 dresses she had hanging outside. After she came out with her street clothes on, the sales girl was finally standing outside the door and asked if she found anything she liked. "No thank you" was the reply she was given, and we walked out. As we were leaving, I made note with the lady up front as to our dissatisfaction. All she could say was that she was "sorry". read more

I recently went here to help my cousin pick out a wedding dress. Our "stylist" was so rude and was rushing us through the whole appointment. When I suggested a dress I was told by the stylist "we are only picking dresses she loves as we are on a time constraint". First of all, anyone who has gone wedding dress shopping knows that you try all sorts of dresses even ones you may not LOVE on the rack. They are all so different on you. Second of all, if you're on a "time constraint" what the hell did we make an appointment for? My poor cousin felt so rushed and overwhelmed she only tried on 5 dresses and wanted to leave. She was near tears. We also tried suggesting other styles and we were told " I already looked there's nothing " by the stylist. Aren't the stylists supposed to pull a lot of different things to try on? It was the worst experience and we won't be going back. I made an appointment somewhere else the minute we walked out the door. read more

We showed up to the store to try on bridesmaids dresses for my friend's wedding. The sales associate was unable to find her in the system until we were about to leave and asked her to make a completely new "account." Most of the employees were rude. When my dress finally came in after a 20-week order, they wanted me to pick it up within a day or two. Because I was out of town for several days, that would have been impossible. They told me I absolutely needed to pick it up by a certain time before I would be back in town. My advice to this store: Learn how to treat customers. There are ways to handle the situations you rudely dealt with in a polite way that leaves the customer happy. Each employee I encountered failed to do this. I will absolutely never go back to this store, and recommend the same to all of my friends. read more

The experience a bride has with purchasing a dress is an experience that can never be duplicated or corrected after it has been made. I know that my fiancée practically left in tears after picking up her dress. There will never be a second chance for David's to recover from this. From David's faltering at assisting my fiancée with trying on the gown after purchasing and receiving the gown and exhibiting a flair of dismissiveness and a disposition of "call me if you need me" while walking away; reflected a tremendous amount of callousness to the quality of service that is expected from a bridal store. The quality of treatment became progressively worse while my fiancées wedding party needed assistance with their dresses and undergarments to accompany their dresses. The initial two visits went well but the following visits caused us to revoke any level of confidence in Davids Bridal of Mishawaka lending any form of service, support or that feeling of being special to my fiancée and her wedding party's experience. We have canceled alterations at this location. We were told that we were required to provide payment for alteration services prior to the work being performed. I have had a number of items tailored and the tailor has never asked to be compensated prior to delivering the finished product. I am weighing dollars to donuts that Davids Bridal will remove this post or provide an anemic rebuttal or explanation for our above mentioned experiences. I am adding this excerpt to note that all the undergarments fit well without any issues but the dress was still a size too small based on measurements. There was indisputably a careless and vagrant error in the selection and ordering of the correct size of the dress for my fiancée. When we were able to discuss this with the store manager we told that the dress style was not available any longer but my fiancée could get store credit and choose another one. This was emotionally shattering. We had looked at a number of other boutiques for dresses and my fiancée had her heart set on this dress. It was "The Dress!!". Due to David's Bridals ineptness at ordering the correct size, we have to be subjected to unwanted alterations in the back of the dress. This place is not a place where a bride can or should say "Yes to the dress." If she wants to have a happy memory that will be everlasting. read more

Victoria cut me off mid conversation with one of my girls to tell me I didn't need to try on more dresses in a certain style that I had picked bc I wasn't liking similar ones... I feel like that should be my decision to make? Overall I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable and was holding back tears because of how I was treated. Went to store to try a bra to wear with bridesmaid dress, associate put me in a room with no mirror. She never came back to help so I went ahead and decided to purchase bra. First they tried selling me the one that everyone tries on. Hell No! So they go to get me a new one. Needless to say after I get home they not only gave me the wrong bra but the wrong size. I was worried I wouldn't find the perfect dress today but my consultant Kate helped me find the perfect dress. I tried it on in a larger size and then she ordered it to be shipped to the store in my size. She explained that once it comes if anything isn't to my liking I can exchange it for another dress of equal value in the store. I have a couple friends dealing with the exceptionally rude staff at this location. One is the bride and a few are bridesmaids. The bride was trying on dresses and was flat out told by a VERY RUDE associate that she "could not wear that dress with that tattoo on your back" RIDICULOUS! A person let a lone a bride should not be ridiculed for their body in a place that is supposed to be helping them look their most beautiful on the most important day. Another friend a bridesmaid in this wedding was getting fitted for her dress. Once she got it on the zipper would not move and was clearly broken when there was more than enough room for it to zip. When she informed the clerk at this store that the zipper was malfunctioning the clerk snidely said "are you sure you're just not too big for it?" then proceeded to walk over to another associate give my friend sideways looks and start giggling to each other. I'm sorry, but that is uncalled for. She was lucky my friend has self respect to not listen to her because i would have thrown down in the middle of the store. As i can see by the reviews on this website EVERYONE HATES THE STAFF AT THIS STORE. Maybe David's should do something about this. My sister a year ago was going to buy a very expensive (into the multiple thousands of dollars) dress at this store and the staff so was rude and talked down to her that she pulled her business and went somewhere else. I had a wonderful experience here at David's! Whitney was amazing. She moved quickly, but didn't rush us at all. She saw a few pics of what I wanted and quickly had multiple styles ready to try on. She was great with accessories, but not pushy. She was eager to keep me under my budget. Very helpful! She even brought the staff seamstress out at the end to talk to me about potential alterations. I ordered my dress and I ordered it in white. when I received it...it was in Ivory. I also ordered my daughters dresses here and ordered both the same size. when I received them I was so concerned with trying on my dress I didn't think to check the size on the dress. When I got home I realized they had given me the wrong size. When I called they rudely told me that all sales are final. they have made 3 mistakes already. My bridesmaids also ordered their dresses from here... I was told that because I had purchased my dress here that they would receive an additional % off their dresses. They did not. When I asked the lady about the discount she rudely said that they were already getting the dresses on sale what more could I want. When I would call to check up on the dresses for my bridesmaids I had on lady tell me to chill out my wedding isn't until December.
