I saw there was a clearance deal ad on their website and decided to take my good friend with me to look at wedding dresses. I made an appointment a couple days before by simply going online - very convenient. I got Tanya as my consultant. She asked what style I was looking for and I wanted a ballgown or a-line style, simple but yet elegant with some design. She ask what my budget was and my budget was around $100 to $400. I tried on 4 different dresses and I fell in love with the first dress! At first, the thought of going dress shopping terrified me, made me nervous and I felt very stressed ( after reading all the horrible reviews online about this store and other bridal stores). However, Tanya was VERY FRIENDLY and patient, took the time to listen to what I didn't like or liked in a dress. She also took the time to show me the different types of veils. She left my friend and I alone every now and then (also checked up on us every now and then- as she was also helping another party -which is fine. We got to have some privacy without her being on us all the time which can make people quite uncomfortable.She made the whole experience very comfortable. I wasn't stressed out or pressured by Tanya. She also picked out a couple pairs of heels for me to see how the dress will look with heels on. When I have finally decided to purchase the dress, she rang up my dress at the cash register but it didn't come out as what the clearance price on the tag shows. Apparently the sale was over (they were not aware of it or they miss this one when removing the sale price). However, the assistant store manager, Shanaz honoured the clearance price! Great customer service! The store offers a huge variety of brands and styles to choose from. Great selection. Only down side is they charge $10 for the garmet bag to keep your dress in (which is fine considering I got my dress for a very good deal but if I had purchased an expensive dress, I would be upset if they did not throw in the garmet bag for free which other reviewers on here have said). I think my advice would be to set a minimum amount that people have to spend and they will throw in the garmet bag for free.Even The Bay, the higher end brands- they include a free garmet bag with purchase. Bought my dress in a 6 as the sample 6 fit perfectly, even though I wanted an 8 to be safe, the lady I was with insisted on a 6 because it was perfect in store on me. So I ordered the 6. to my surprise when my order came in and tried it on, it was way too tight! Scary right? So I called in asking if this happens a lot, or if it was common that I could not breathe in my ordered size, I went in to the store and tried it on for them, it was super uncomfortable, way tighter than I remembered but they had the dress in an 8 that they exchanged for my 6! Talk about stress reliever! I'm not a big girl at all, I'm fit also so there is no way I gained weight, my measurements proved it! I just want to say a big thanks to Shanaz! She was so understanding and helpful in providing me with the correct fit, worry free! So glad she could help! She truly is a gem to a bride to be! read more

I've been to David's Bridal for a total of 3 times. My first time was 2 months after my engagement, I was eager to try on dresses with my maid of honor. Unfortunately, I forgot what my consultant's name was but she was really great. I almost purchased the vera wang dress that I was eye-ing, but I did not want to rush into purchasing it because my wedding was so far away still. I told her that I would come back when I was ready. The second time I visited was for my maid of honor because she was also getting married. The consultant she got was Sarah. I was blown away by how experienced she was, how professional she was, and how great her taste was as she gave my maid of honor (also the bride) so many suggestions that suited her needs and style. She also paired her dresses with beautiful veils and accessories that complemented each dress. I told her that when I came back for my dress that I would want her to be my consultant. Fast forward to two months later, I called David's Bridal for another appointment and I specifically asked for Sarah to be my consultant. On the day of, I found out that Sarah was unable to make it to her shift and so they had to find another available consultant for me. I said it would be find because, well, I guess there's no choice. We came all the way from Vancouver to try on dresses in Langley. I waited for about 5 minutes before my consultant came to greet us. Her name was Ola. I introduced myself as the bride and I told her that I had an idea of what dresses I wanted to try. I also mentioned that I wanted to try "this Vera Wang as well" (I said this while pointing at my phone with the photograph) and she replied with, "well, aren't all of these Vera Wangs?"... I was a little bit surprised with her question/response. Actually, I don't know if they're all Vera Wangs! You tell me! You're my consultant. Anyways she went to grab me a few dresses while we walked into where the fitting rooms were. I needed to go to the washroom so I was away for a little bit and when I came back, according to my bridesmaids (they came along with me) that Ola came back with my dresses and she asked, "so.. which one of you are trying the dresses again?" I can't believe she did not recognize her bride (me), which made me feel like I wasn't important at all. My bridesmaid had to tell her that I went to the washroom. During the most of the appointment, she wasn't involved, she just handed me every dress and left me in the fitting room, she didn't offer to help me to put on dresses, she didn't even help un-zip the back of my dress until I asked her to. She also wasn't able to give me any much advice or opinion. While Sarah, took the initiative to help, she was very passionate and very professional. By the second dress or so, I was actually not really in the mood to try on the dresses anymore. But my girls were very helpful in providing me opinion and what looked best on me. If it weren't for my girls, I don't think I would have been very productive for this visit. Then the manager came along and that's when I could see that Ola was probably fairly new to this and was still getting trained to do her job. I totally understand, but I was a little bit disappointed that she didn't even recognize me as the bride at first. On the other hand, the manager (I think her name was Shanaz) was really great and when I finally decided on the dress that I wanted, she walked me through the tradition that they have at David's Bridal and that was to make a wish and ring the bell. When I was paying for the dress she also waived the shipping fee as I wanted to ship it to my home. When we left, all of my girls got goodie bags and we left feeling good, even though the initial experience was not the best. Because I've been to David's Bridal a few times, I give my experience 4/5 stars - overall it was very good. However, if today was my first visit, I wouldn't have been impressed. Worst experience ever. My consultant Maria, should be avoided at all cost. She's easy to pick out, she has RBF on lock and she won't find a dress for you. In fact, my daughter tried on 5 dresses, all of which we pulled. The one dress the consultant brought for her to try on was the exact opposite of what she was looking at. In fact, Maria said, "She hasn't told me what she likes." Well Maria, maybe if you actually saw her try on some of the dresses she did like and listen to her feedback and comments, you would know. I recently had an appointment at David's bridal! The lady Sasha who helped me was very friendly, however I didn't like how she kept pulling dresses that were expensive when I originally had a budget of 500$-750$ but then my aunt said we could go higher. after that she didn't pull any dresses less then 1000$. I tried on tons of dresses and before I was about to leave (and I mean literally walking out the door) she came up to us and said 'oh I forgot we have this dress I think you'll love' which was in my price range and was exactly the style I had been trying on. It was amazing, except half my girlfriends were gone by this point and didn't get to see me in it. I left the store and that same night I decided I wanted to get it. when I called to put it on hold they a lady 'Michelle' said no problem then called me back 10 minutes later to tell me they couldn't hold clearance dresses ( which I thought was horrible service as I was coming the next morning to get the dress) I went the next day first thing and did buy the dress the lady Michelle was a bit snobby and Didn't seem interested in helping me at all. anyways overall I didn't like the service they provided! I did end up buying a dress that I love but if I hadn't loved it so much I would have went else where. District manager asked for my number and tried to call me once, missed her call and she left a voicemail saying she'd try back. Never heard anything and it's been over a week. read more

went shopping for a prom date dress for my daughter, I'm not going to get into all the long boring details of my experience, but in a nutshell each staff member that I talked to there, we were told a different story. Bought a dress that need alterations and requested an estimate before it was purchased. When it came to the alteration appointment we were told it would be approx.. $60 more than originally told, not to mention two ladies were fitting her, the hem line wasn't straight and then after they pinned her in the back to have it taken it they had to remove the pins and then re-pin her so she could get out of the dress. We were both uneasy about the alterations being done correctly, not to mention the alterations manager that I requested to talk to said there was no way I was quoted that price and that they don't give alteration quotes. From there it just got worse, talked to two other people before I was brought to the sale manager and each person between the alterations person and the sales manager made the situation worse as I made to feel like I was lying about the situation. The dress was $145 and made it clear before I purchased the dress that I wanted an estimate on alterations as It wouldn't be worth it to buy the dress if the alterations were going to be a fortune. With left feeling accused of being a liar I demand a refund for my purchase, which was a fight as well. The only saving grace is that they did refund me my money and seeing the store manager the next day to get my refund she was actually sincerely nice and apologetic about the situation. The rest of the staff that I dealt with were horrible. If you don't mind horrible customer service to pay for a less expensive dress, then this is the place to shop. read more

We were at David's bridal today and I (the maid of honor), was greeted kindly. I was earlier than the rest of the group, and was asked if I needed assistance and was given free range to observe any of the gowns available. This was initially overwhelming. The consultant, Tanya S. Was pretty amazing. She has gone above and beyond her duty. She offered her services to us for 4.5 hours as she did not have any other bookings. Despite trying on approximately 2 dresses the bride was feeling exhausted. Tanya brought one last dress. This was the one. We are so grateful for her attentive guidance and not once did I feel she was coercing us. She offered to get the alterations involved at any point requested. I cannot be happier with our experience there. After we left each of us received a bag of goodies from the store. We were treated like royalty and I am so pleased. I would definitely recommend David's bridal. And would highly recommend this consultant. Thank you read more

I went in to David's Bridal this weekend with my sister and her bridesmaids to pick out dresses. This store was recommended to us because they, apparently, have a large selection. I was completely unimpressed. If I had taken my sister there for bridal shopping I would have been devastated! Our appointment (that we booked weeks ago) was for 12 which is when they open. We had to wait until 12:30 before anyone even came over to speak to us! We asked twice what was taking so long and they claimed they were trying to organise their consultants. I'm not an expert but I would assume if you have appointments already booked shouldn't you match consultants BEFORE YOU OPEN? When we were finally graced with 'service' the lady walked over and said "I'm with another bride so just go ahead pick out some dresses and let me know if you need anything". (So, I guess we'll just do all the work then?) Besides the fact that I didn't find it very fair that even though I booked so far in advanced we were double booked with someone else and CLEARLY not a priority at all. When we finally picked up some options (out of a very limited selection) we went into the dressing room - NIGHTMARE! It was packed so full of people that we couldn't even hear each other speak let alone see ourselves in the mirror! We tried on a couple dresses and thankfully narrowed them down to a couple, one of which was the one my sister had looked at beforehand on David's website. We had to track down our consultant to ask for our sizes so we could all try the dresses on and she returned with a variety of sizes we didn't request. We picked one of the dresses and had to make random guesses about what size we would be as our consultant was nowhere to be found for advice. Then we went to pay. That was another ordeal. Their computers froze twice and had to be re-booted. It was another half an hour standing there just to process our payments. This isn't necessarily their fault and it wouldn't have bothered me but after what we had experienced up until this point it just became par for the course. I do not recommend this store to anyone! There have to be other stores with similar prices and selection that would actually appreciate that people are going in and spending A LOT of money and would like to be serviced properly (as opposed to NOT AT ALL!) We bought my sister's wedding dress elsewhere (thank goodness) and they provided us with the special bridal treatment that should be expected and it wasn't overly expensive! I don't think David's Bridal has any excuse to brush aside customers the way they do. Unacceptable! The only reason we bought our dresses there was because a) we had driven all the way there (from Vancouver) and b) it was the dress my sister wanted. If it was up to me I would have turned around and marched right out of there and tried to find the same dress at a place more appreciative. All the bridesmaids had to go out and have some wine just to destress from a day that should have been lots of fun. Bottom line - do some research and find ANYWHERE else with decent pricing. This is a letter I wrote to David's Bridal after an unpleasant experience. Talk about putting a damper on such a happy moment. It took two weeks of me calling and e-mailingbefore I finally spoke with someone. They said they were sorry and that they would speak to the staff in question. My suggestion is, if you do go to David's Bridal insist that you deal with Melissa only, even when it comes to your dress fitting and picking up your dress. Melissa is amazing, friendly, and proffessional! February 10, 2013 To Whom It May Concern, A few months ago I went to the David's Bridal in Langley and had a wonderful experience being taken care of by Melissa D. I found the perfect gown for my special day and felt that I was in good hands with Melissa. However, that is where my good experience with your chain has ended. Today I went in to try the dress that was ordered in for me.The manager of the store, Michelle took care of me. She marched me in the back to a changing room, hung my dress (that was still in the bag) on the hook and left. My friend and I just looked at each other and were not sure what to do.After waiting for a few awkward moments we decided to just get on with it and try on the dress. I took the dress out of the bag and noticed that it was all wrinkled (to be expected as it just came out of the bag) and that there were little wisps of material sticking out everywhere. My friend helped me slip into the dress while Michelle was enquiring, "Are you ready yet?" A few moments later I stepped out horrified because we were unable to zip the dress up. This was surprising as the dress I had tried on was a size 18 and we were able to zip it up, yet the size 20 it was impossible for us to do so. Michelle was unable to zip it up herself. She went and got Luna and it took both of them to zip up the dress and to hook it up. It was incredibly tight! I found it difficult to breathe and my rib cage was very constricted. Michelle said everything she could to convince me that this was the right dress and that it fit me well, rest assured it definitely did not. Upon Michelle's request Luna then took my measurements while I was wearing the dress. Long story made a little shorter, Michelle unhooked and unzipped me. As she did so my friend noticed that Michelle broke the loop for the hook of the dress. I hung the dress, gave it to Melissa and I put on my clothes. I told Michelle that I was beginning to get angry and that I would only deal with Melissa. I found that Michelle was rude, did not listen to me, and was treating me like I was less than intelligent and trying to convince me that an ill-fitting dress fit me perfectly was absolutely insulting. Melissa was sent in with the measurements that Luna had taken as well as the measurements that she had taken herself when she took the order. The difference between the two sets of measurements suggested that I had increased in bust size by 2" and 4" in my hips. I explained to Melissa that something was fishynwas going on and that I had not put on weight as all my clothing fit the same. I told her I had asked for her because Michelle was rude, abrasive, etc... Melissa was very apologetic for the way that we had been treated. It was not Melissa's fault and she had always treated my friend and I with respect and that is why we asked for her, we knew things would work out with her assistance. At this point my friend suggested that I try the dress that was on the mannequin again. A few moments later I saw Michelle and Luna walk in from the main part of the store and walk into the sewing room. I waited for 7 minutes for the dress to be brought to me. When it finally came I put it on with the help of my friend. There was no problem zippping up the back and It fit exactly the way that I remembered it, just slightly snug. Michelle came in and said, "How does your dress fit?" We told her that the dress from the mannequin fit better than my dress. She told us that the dress I was wearing was the dress that was ordered for me. In ten minutes or so, it would not have fit me any differently. We were given the other dress and we took a look at the tags in the dresses and the dress that I was wearing that fit was a 20 and the other dress was an 18. The size 20 dress was wrinkle free and had no frays while the size 18 was full of wrinkles and had some frays (just like the original dress that I had tried on that was too constricting). The only explanation is that the tags had been changed so that the mannequin's dress, which fit better, was resized to a 20. Besides the unprofessional manner in which Michelle treated us, her rudeness, her incapability of listening to her customer, and in the end her dishonesty, I can honestly say I will never suggest David's Bridal to anyone. My dress experience was great but when I called to order my veil they put me on hold where I waited 20 minutes before I hung up and called back. They'd forgotten about me. I gave my credit card info to purchase the veil and she put me on hold again ...that took another 15 minutes. She didn't know the answers to any of my questions and when I'd ask a question she'd just sit there and say nothing, I thought I was hung up on 3 times! I couldn't believe how difficult they made it for me to spend money at their store, it was unreal! I'll never recommend this place to any of my girlfriends getting married soon, much rather deal with people who want my business. read more

Sooo I went to David's bridal and spent just 2 and a half hours and bought both my gowns (wedding and reception) off the rack along with all my accessories. That part was awesome but bases on their terrible customer service I wish I chose another store. The customer service I received the day of was both good and bad. I had a nice salesperson named Georgie (at store #405) but many other consultants kept butting in and offering suggestions without knowing anything I was lookin for and just wasting time. The strangest was one consultant that looked about 250+ lbs and kept trying to make me try on shapewear, which I did not want or need. That's a great way to boost a brides confidence. After buying my dresses I went to alterations for the bustle, the woman Amy told me that I could have the dress back in four weeks. I was like "just for a bustle?" I was hoping to have it sooner so I can bra shop, etc. She said I could have it sooner of I pay her $30. What a weird system! After spending so much money in such a short shopping trip I couldn't believe she was going to penny pinch me. I left the store and no one thanked me for my purchase or any of the normal things you expect in retail. Then I returned 4 days later for my dress and an awful woman named Lara was working in alterations. I asked her "if I lost weight, because I have been, how long would it probably take to get taken in?" And her response "don't lose weight" and walks away. Super helpful! So I tried on the dress and the bustle had these super ugly dollar store huge clear buttons on them and I asked why they are so visible and ugly? A nice alterations girl looked very troubled and ran to the back to find pretty satin buttons and had me wait 15 minutes for her to change them. I'm guessing they use the cheap buttons in an attempt to pinch a few more pennies unless someone complains? While I was waiting for the button fix I heard Lara take a call from a bride wanting her dress a day early, Lara made it sound like it was SUCH a big deal and was sighing and sounding like such an exaggerative tool, while the nice alteration girl kept saying "tell her no problem, tell her its ready" etc etc. When Lara hung up she exclaimed "oh my god she's so crazy". I can't believe she talked about a customer this way. Then finally I filled out a customer service survey I was directed to online at the bottom of my receipt. I spent ten + minuted explaining the terrible customer service experience and at the end of my survey it says something like 'if you would like to be contacted about your experience please email us at..." so I emailed them and some completely untrained "corporate customer service rep" named Heidi replied that she can't see my survey and offered no help, or apology aside from "I'm sorry you feel that way"...which is a condescending way of saying they're not wrong. I work in retail, all complaints are met with listening, apologizing (for the service they received not for them "feeling that way"), SOLVING and finally THANKING them for their business. This is standard and even their head office people don't know the basics of customer service. If you have a real problem with your dress they won't help you in any way. Go to a company that appreciated your business, that isn't trying to penny pinch you and most importantly, that you can trust for such an important purchase! read more

I was not really impressed wi my overall experience with David's Bridal. I wasn't really expecting too much from a department store bridal salon, but I guess as a bride I was hoping for a little more. It was busy and the consultant was balancing at least one other bride. I was left alone in the dressing room to fend for myself in a sea of tulle and lace. My maid of honour had to jump in to help me. It got to the point that I was ready to drop everything and leave because I was so unhappy with the experience. The store manager had to step in and she did manage to find a nice dress, but I was too overwhelmed to say yes to anything. If you're looking for decent priced dresses and don't mind the department store environment then David's Bridal is for you. read more

I went during the evening on a "quite day" for my booked appointment and there was only one girl working. The consultant was in between brides and I rarely saw her. I had to get my matron of honor to help me in and out of my dresses and the rest of my group pulling dresses for me. If I had waited on the consultant I would have only tried on two dresses at max. Very understaffed and I didnt get the feeling that I was important. read more

I was there on Sunday 26/10/2014 the front desk girl look so unhappy and miserable she has no customer skill! very rude. She even declined to provide me me with an Ipod. she told my stylist was going to go over the dress with me!! didn't make sense. Very poor experience. My niece had made an appointment and when we showed up we waited around 15 minutes to be helped. We were introduced to our consultant who told us she was looking after another party at the same time. She did NOT listen to a thing my niece told her. The couple of dresses she did actually bring were either over the price we had told her, or were not what we asked for. The bridesmaids had an appointment right after for their dresses, and we were pointed to the bridesmaids dresses then promptly forgotten. The consultant only came back one time so we ended up deciding not to get their dresses there. When it was time to purchase the dress, we were informed they were out of the white plastic bags so had to buy a bag. I was floored. What kind of place charges you for a bag after spending that much money on a dress? I will NOT be back and would not reccomend this place to anyone. read more

I recently bought three bridesmaids dresses from Davids Bridal. One, I ordered online and had no problems with, as it was from Davids Bridal in the states. The second I bought at the beginning of January, and only just picked up two days ago (April 20). Once I got home, I took the dress out to show a family member, and I right away saw a snag in the silhouette neck portion of the dress. I called Davids the next day, as it was late by the time I got home, and they told me to come in and talk to the manager (40 minute drive, plus bridge tolls). However, when I got there, all they told me was that there was nothing they could do, that it was too late to order a new one, as the wedding is in June (ehm...had you maybe gotten the dress 2 months ago, there would have been time...), but also that there was nothing they could do to fix it there...they told me to where a chunky necklace...Oh! and they gave me $20 off, after I paid $150 for the dress. I had to buy a third dress with them (the same night I picked up my second) for another wedding, and even that process was extremely difficult; we had to go on two different occasions because they messed up on booking, and the first time we went, our stylist couldn't be bothered to give us 10 minutes of our hour and half appointment; us bridesmaids ended up going and finding the brides dresses and helping her into them. The service has been absolutely horrific at this Davids Bridal. I will not shop at this store again; I have had nothing but bad experiences, and do not wish to have anymore. They have taken what is supposed to be one of the most enjoyable events of a wedding, and turned it into a complete and utter headache, for bridesmaids and brides alike. read more

I just had an amazing experience at David's and found my wedding dress! Completely unpretentious and relaxed environment full of beautiful dresses. I booked my appointment for a Wednesday evening, so I'm betting it wasn't as busy as it would be on a weekend. They're open until 9pm, so there's lots of time after work. There were a couple other girls trying dresses and we all had our own consultants. I had Tallya L., who was super sweet and helpful. I felt like I had all the time in the world to try on as many dresses as I needed. I had a list of specific dresses from the website and Tallya was able to grab those for me, along with a couple I saw on the manikins that I liked. I was allowed to pick shoes and a veil from an area of the store to wear with the dresses, which was very helpful and my friends were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted, which was great for looking back when I was making my final decision (some other shops don't allow photos!). I narrowed it down to two and tried both on again before making the decision. I felt no pressure to pick and purchase a dress, but at the end I was in love with one of them and decided to buy it. The manager and another consultant came over to congratulate me and shake my hand. I got to ring a bell and make a wish and it all felt very special. Bonus there was a Cactus Club across the parking lot to have a celebratory drink at afterwards. All in all a wonderful, relaxing, fun experience! Best of all, the dress I loved was under my budget! Lots of options in all price ranges and styles by many designers, including Vera Wang! I also left my dress shopping a little late and there were lots of options for getting dresses in sooner than other shops. Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews! Very much recommend going here, especially if you're tight on time and budget! They also have multiple sizes of each dress so you can try one on that is your size, or close enough to it that you get a better idea of fit. read more

Do not go to David's Bridal unless you want to be ignored! (I would have given 0 stars if that was possible) I thought that I would begin my bridal gown search at David's Bridal, as I had heard that they had a number of different dresses at a decent price so, I set up an appointment to start my search. Upon arriving for my 12pm appointment, I filled in my information and was informed that a consultant would be with me shortly. The person at reception called for a consultant, Tanya, and asked her to take my appointment today, to which Tanya said, "I'm with someone right now. Her bridesmaid search is turning into a bridal appointment." She then told us that she would be 5 minutes, as she was finishing up with someone else. This 5 minutes turned into 20 minutes. We were left standing at the front of the store for 20 minutes before Tanya even bothered to come help us. She brought me to the dressing room, took my measurements, then asked about the style that I wanted for my dress. I told her very specific things I was looking for, most importantly that I wanted a mermaid style dress. She set off to grab me some dresses and when she returned, I was disappointed to say the least. She had brought back frumpy dresses that were in a number of different styles, none of which were mermaid. I had her take all of the dresses back, except one that I thought I might just try on to see how it looked. Tanya left the room saying that she would be right back with more dresses. Apparently, "right back" meant that she was going to leave me in the dressing room to lace up my own dress and help another customer instead. My sister decided to help me get into my first dress, 30 minutes into my appointment, since I was being ignored by the consultant. Tanya had left some more dresses outside for me to try and NONE of them were in the style I asked for. If someone asks specifically for MERMAID, why would you continue to pull A-line or empire waist dresses? Because Tanya was nowhere in sight, my sister and I decided that we would pull our own dresses. We were able to find a dress with the right bodice, but not the right bottom. My mom was so upset that we were being brushed aside during the appointment, that she went to find Tanya and ask her why she was not helping us. Her response was that she would be "right there because she had to ring in a customer" (the one that didn't actually have a bridal appointment). When Tanya finally came back, she sheepishly apologized and asked if we wanted help cinching the dress. At that point, we were completely over this appointment and didn't even want her help so, I just got ready to leave. When I came out of the dressing room, Tanya apologized for not having many dresses. She stated that they don't really have any mermaid style dresses or any dresses in a size 0 or 2, which is what I needed. Why wouldn't you tell me from the beginning that you don't carry any mermaid dresses, when that is the style that I know I want? She completely wasted our time. My daughter and I came from the Sunshine Coast recently to find her a wedding dress. We had a wonderful experience there as it was a very exciting time for my daughter to find her perfect dress. The young lady that helped her LAURA... was just great,we weren't the only ones she was helping to find the brides their perfect dresses and she was able to accommodate everyone just so. The whole experience was awesome (except one little thing...as we walked into the store the young lady that was at the desk wasn't the most professional and not to friendly) As the mother of the bride I also found a great dress for a wonderful price. I went to David's Bridal witth my sister, the bride to be. We had an appointment first thing in the morning. The gal helping us was fabulous, her name was Tanya. She asked my sister questions and actually listened to her. She brought out combinations of what my sister asked for and one of them actually ended up being the dress. We knew not to go at a busy time because of my wedding dress shopping experience a few years back somewhere else. The reason they did not get full stars from me is because another employee (a manager) kept coming over and interrupting our time with Tanya. She would ask myself and the bride questions just for the sake of looking like she cared because she never remembered anything we said. And then as we were closing the sale she insisted we buy some "coffin" box for the dress- and my sister said 'no thanks, I plan to use my dress again for my work.' Then the manger went on about how important it is to preserve her dress while it wasn't being used, showing me she clearly never heard a word we were saying (This is only one example of many). I had to stop her because I was getting frustrated. And had to get the sale finished before the manager said anything else that would ruin the wonderful experience Tanya gave to my sister and my mother. read more

I do not have too many positives when it comes to David's Bridal. On my appointment to find a wedding dress, the sales lady was with me for about ten minutes before she ran off to another girl, because she'd been double booked (and apparently that is a common thing, and she said the staff should have told me when I made an appointment, that it would be shared.) I picked out the dresses, she helped me into one, and that was it. She had to go, and really came back only once to grab a few more dresses for me, but it was quite a hassle to get her attention and I actually considered carrying them into the change room myself. Thank goodness my Mom was there, because I would not have been able to even get into the dresses otherwise, because the saleslady was gone. I felt quite ignored on that appointment, and found my dress elsewhere. I did like a dress here, but it wasn't THE dress. I did come back here after trying several wedding shops for bridesmaid dresses, and we did find our bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal. That day, the assistant was lovely and friendly, same thing with the manager, from whom I bought my shoes and a bracelet. However, upon discussion over lunch, my bridesmaids and I agreed that their dresses were at David's Bridal. We phoned to ask the staff to hold them (we would need to order in a different color, but still wanted to view them once more. The ones on the rack were final sale and the wrong color). On the phone, no problem-they'd hold. We got there and were treated with the rudest assistant I have ever met, saying they cannot hold the dresses and she did not know who'd done it. I tried to explain we'd been there that day and who we were, and was met with contempt. We did still order the dresses, but wow. I am sorry to say that when I was phoned to be alerted that the bridesmaid dresses were in, the woman on the phone requested in the rudest way "If you could pick them up in the next five days, that would be great." The tone of voice I was spoken to by the assistant was extremely rude, and also I was unimpressed that they phoned on a Sunday night...by Friday to pick up? Thank goodness I work in the restaurant industry so they have weird hours. I picked them up for my bridesmaids, but then encountered the same girl when I went to pick up the dresses. I wish I had gotten her name because she belittles the customers in a way that is unbelievable. Apparently one of my bridesmaids put her name on the dress instead of mine, and the assistant was so annoyed over that it was unbelievable. She asked me rudely "What is that card for?" that I showed to show the dress model (I don't know, no one told me if I needed any kind of ID - no, you just walk in and pick it up. Great, but a little scary..) Customer service here is a major issue. read more

She really listened to my needs and did a great job selecting dresses within my personal style! I purchased my wedding dress thanks to Sasha's careful attention to detail! My experience at David's Bridal was a great one! They were extremely helpful and patient and they totally made you feel like a princess! The only problem that i came across is that they had ordered the wrong size! I mean, the style was correct, the size was correct but they did not indicate "w" on the order (which I needed as I am not a tiny girl). In all fairness the girl who placed the order was new at the time. I picked up my dress in October and did not try it on until a month ago. I was mortified and could not understand why the dress did not fit me properly! I called the store and spoke w/ Shanaz who had to hear me in tears on the phone. She was so awesome that she asked me to bring the dress in that day and she ordered me the correct size asap! She was so wonderful and helpful that I totally recommend everyone to ask for Shanaz!! The dresses were very reasonably priced. I was looking for a Mother of the Bride dress. The service was over the top BAD! I was there on a Wednesday night. If my girlfriend and daughter-in-law had not been there I would not have been able to find the correct size or fit for the dress I bought. We had to look for the girl that was supposed to be helping us. She completely ignored us and did not even offer to zip me up or anything but showed up when it was time to take my money. I wish I had taken the time to read the "filtered" reviews on this site before booking an appointment at David's Bridal in Langley for my sister, I wouldn't have bothered!! We drove 4.5-hours for our appointment and left angry and disappointed. We booked well in advance, it was my sisters first time trying on dresses, she looked at their website in advance and wrote down some styles she liked. When we got there, they were understaffed and had double booked our consultant. To say she gave her other appointment more attention than us is an understatement. We were ignored for 15-minutes at a time. After my sister tried on all the dresses she had written down - ALL of which I had to help her get in to as our consultant was no where to be found - we asked her to pull any other dresses she could think of that were similar to the style my sister likes. She came back with 3 dresses which were NOTHING like the style she wanted - then took off to help her other customer again, leaving us alone for 20-minutes with 3 dresses we didn't even bother getting in to. We finally asked a different consultant, who was working with her own customer for some help... she was quite nice but couldn't help very much as she was giving her attention to her bride, as she should be... When our consultant finally returned to check on us we told her we were leaving and would not be giving our money to this store because of how neglected we were. She was unapologetic stating that it wasn't her fault they were understaffed today. We left very disappointed. GO ELSEWHERE!!!! This is not the wonderful dress-shopping experience that every bride-to-be looks forward to, the service here is TERRIBLE!!! They also do not have individual changing areas so you can focus on how you look - its just like any department store change room where you're next to 3 other brides and their entourages. And they also don't have those round pedestals for brides to stand on while they look in the mirror. Overall, a gross experience. read more

I'm only rating this a 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars. The entire ordeal was really awful! Not just unpleasant, but actually AWFUL! Just a warning, this is going to be a long rant! It all began with us arriving at 2pm on time for our appointment and them ignoring us for 15 min. before finally telling us that our consultant was running late. Ya thanks, we kinda figured! When she finally arrives, she does not even acknowledge that she is 15-20 min late. She does not smile or be even remotely friendly. She rushes us over to the change rooms, makes some comment about there being a lot of us (is 4 really that many?) and then points to one change room and says "that one is yours". She then leaves without a word. We are left there to assume she is hopefully bringing us some dresses to try on. She arrives with a bunch and shoves me into the change room with one dress. Inside that room she then is so rough and rude that I almost slap her right there. She ends up scratching me several times trying to get the dress on and done up, all the while glaring at me and scolding me for bring so many people, "What were you thinking?" she says. I brought my mother, my soon to be mother-inlaw, and my maid of honour. Is that really a lot? I mean come on! If there is a limit then someone should have told me when I made the appointment! She is incredibly rough with me and I end up with my hair pulled and scratches all over my arms, chest, and back. She yanks off my strapless bra at one point without even a warning. I really felt violated. She also, did not listen to a word I was saying. I told her I was looking for a simple dress, something light and flowy. She keeps bringing me heavy, lace dresses that are covered with sequins. And then gets increasingly frustrated when I tell her they are not what I am looking for. At one point, another women trying on dresses, looks over at one that I am wearing and says "Oh I really like that dress! That is so pretty!". My consultant immediately retorts with "Oh you are too big for this dress. It doesn't come in your size." Like wow! That is so harsh and so tactless! The poor women looked crushed and immediately fled into her changing room. Luckily her consultant was quite kind. At the end of the appointment, I had tried on too many stupid dresses that were not even close to what I was looking for and this horrible consultant had not smiled once or said anything even remotely kind. She then rushed us out without saying much. My group was just as traumatized as me and we were all pretty quiet the entire trip home. There is no way I will ever be back! But on top of that, I don't even want to go dress shopping anywhere ever again! This horrible consultant took what was supposed to be a really beautiful day and turned it into an awful nightmare! I cried when I got home. I know its stupid and I tried to shrug it off but I was exhausted and just felt so abused! I was all scratched up too! Plus, I didn't even find a dress that was remotely close to what I was looking for! I mean there are like hundreds if not thousands of dresses in there. Thanks for wasting my time and actually making me really upset! I can't believe any bridal shop would employ someone like this! I would be surprised ANYONE would employ someone so awful as this consultant! Just want to warn other people! Hopefully you can avoid having this happen to you! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!! My gf went to look for Wedding dresses and the lady who helped was beyond rude. Tried to talk her out of the style she wanted...was miserable, etc. Jump forward a few months, my husband went to pick up my Bridesmaid dress, gave them my name...they told him my name wasn't in the system. Then they "found" my dress...he brought it home, it was the wrong one. I called and they told me he didn't give them a name, my question to them was "why did you give him a dress then". Next day, he returns my dress and picks up "my" dress. Wrong again! I called to complain and they told me they had 2 dresses under my name...different colors, different sizes. My husband returned the dress and I decided to just leave it until we went back in for my gfs fitting and we would get all 5 dresses at the same time. I was told I would get free alterations and a note was to be put under my name. Jump forward another few months. Went in for my gfs Wedding Dress fitting...they bring out THE WRONG DRESS! After 10 minutes of panic they finally find the right one. We decided to just get all 5 Bridesmaid dresses. They tell us they only have 3 of the 5...and that I apparently picked mine up, after 5 minutes of arguing with the ladies there they finally come to the conclusion that I did not pick up my dress (duh!). They then proceed to tell me that I am LYING and I was never told I would get my alterations for free and the best thing they can do is a store credit for a PORTION of the alteration cost (ya, no thanks!)....no skin off my back since my gfs Wedding dress alterations were over $450 and it was to take in a bit in the waist and to bring it up 1/4 inch. I will never in a million years recommend getting your Wedding Dress, Bridal Party Dress or even Grad Dress from Davids Bridal, Langley BC. The worst customer service I have EVER dealt with...that goes for everyone there...not just one person in particular. read more

Hi my name is Alex I went to Davids Bridal not thinking I would find the perfect Dress from the reviews on here it really scared me to even attempt to walk into the store! I arrive in was greeted by a nice receptionist Elle and quickly place with my bridal consultant Michelle. She already had a Bride but was still amazingly able to accommodate us! She ask me questions about date of Wedding indoor or outdoor as well as my vision was. I had a large group of people with me with very strong opinions but It didn't upset or deter her. She would take me in the change room to get my true feelings about dresses I had tried. finally she pulled the perfect dress for me! I was in love and felt beautiful! So everyone that made terrible reviews it probably unfortunately the pick of the draw I was just lucky to received above par service! Thanks Michelle and Davids for my wonderful experience! The experience was very pleasurable and professional from start to finish. Every time we were there the staff was friendly and very helpful! The dress came in on time and was perfect! Like other raters, I found that most of the staff wasn't overly friendly and my appointment started late despite us being early/on time. I wasn't overly impressed with David's bridal and was feeling quite discouraged until I met my consultant Tanya. Although I give the overall store a 3 out of 5, I would give Tanya a 10 out of 5 and would recommend her to any bride! She was extremely knowledge and kind, and made my dress buying experience absolutely amazing! I am glad that Tanya and her manager were a part of my wedding experience! read more

If you want to enjoy yourself and think wedding dress shopping should be an enjoyable occasion stay far, far away from David's. I made an appointment about 3 weeks in advice for a bridal fitting. The morning of the appointment, I couldn't remember if I made it for 1 or 1:30 ( I had appointments at several bridal shops that day) so I called to ask. The lady I spoke with said asked my name and informed me that my appointment was at 1:30. When I got there at 1:27 with my entourage in tow they said they had no record of my appointment! Regardless they said they would squeeze me in and that they "believed me" that I had in fact made the appointment. They said this as if they were doing me a favour by keeping the appointment that I had just confirmed a few hours prior. I was ignored for half an hour, then I was told by my stylist who was also assisting 4 other brides that I should limit my dress selections to 5 because I wouldn't have enough time to try on more than that. After 45 minutes of waiting around (and choosing my own dresses off the rack which are stored in gross yellowing plastic bags that resemble body bags) I got my dressing room and started trying dresses on. Thank god my bridemaids were there to take my fdresses out of plastic and pass them in and out of my dressing room. I had about 12 inches of space outside of my dressing room and there was a train of people constantly walking in front of me and my mirror. All in all it was a terrible experience. I found the selection to be really traditional bordering on matronly. The samples are all in terrible condition, dirty with rips. Would NOT recommend going to David's on the weekend. It is like the Walmart of bridal shops. read more

I came all the way from Vancouver and my consultant Tanya was worth the drive! She was amazing in every way. She was kind, very attentive and had great ideas on how to make the dresses special for me! She was so sweet and patient with me, since this was my very first time trying on dresses I had no idea what I was doing or really looking for. She helped me narrow things down. She had so many great tips, from undergarments to extra bling and creative neckline and back additives. For all those reviews that say David's Bridal does not give good customer service, Tanya went above and beyond for me, giving her other appointments away so that she could focus on me!!! Also, the manager on duty (who I can not remember her name, sorry!) was hilarious and added a lot of fun to the appointment. Tanya was also very upfront and honest about pricing and how much alterations or extras would cost. She never hesitated to get a quote for me from a seamstress. Although, I can not comment on how the alterations and whole purchasing of the dress goes, I can say that if you are looking for a great, knowledgable consultant that gives you the attention you deserve, Tanya is your lady. In October I had to visit this store to order a bridesmaid dress, I was told I should make an appointment so I did, when we arrived we were a couple minutes early but I checked in saying I was there. She checked to see my appointment then kind of rudely said oh your appointments not for a couple more minutes so you can either sit down or wander the store then went back to her conversation with someone who was standing with her, so we did now keep in mind I had a 4 year old and a 4 month old with me. So we wandered a bit sat down for a bit then as time ticked by I was noticing walk ins getting to try on dresses mean while I had waited over 45 minutes. So I found the dress already picked out from the bride myself and we asked if I could try it on because we had been waiting so long and no one ever approached us during our wait. When we mentioned I had an appointment the girl seemed all puzzled if we checked in and I said yes we did (now a new person than we did check us in) Eventually we got it done but now that my dress is already in I get a phone call saying you either have to pick up the dress in five days (umm hello.. You never mentioned this at the store) or we will ship it to you. So I phoned to ask to have it shipped because I have no time to drive to Langley to attempt to get it in five days.. The phone called ended abruptly once they got the info they needed it was just okay we will have to sent to you click. Thanks for the great experience.. I'm kind of happy I choose to go else where when I was getting married for dresses because so far I would never recommend anyone to go only because customer service leaves a lasting impression and you just feel as if your just another number vs a valuable customer. After the first crappy experience I was contacted by the District Manager through Yelp. The email she gave me didn't work, and I had to call and leave 2 messages over the span of 4 days before she got back to me. She offered an appointment for bridesmaids dresses but I'm getting those made. She then offered an accessory appointment with one of the senior stylists. I told her I'd look into it (I wanted to check their prices because we're on a limited budget and I didn't want to fall in love with something I can't afford). I got back to her a week and a half later and told her the prices were out of my price range (seriously $150+ for a veil?!) so I would pass on the appointment. She read it and ignored it. Not even an "ok". Just nothing. This whole experience is actually making me question my dress and whether I want to wear it. Not that they care, as long as I paid them for it its apparent they don't care. Never, ever going there or recommending them. read more

This store is extremely helpful and has a wonderful atmosphere! I went in with a budget and dress style in mind and my consultant, Zelna went above and beyond to 1) help me stay within my budget and 2) find the dress of my dreams. I ended up spending $400 LESS than anticipated, while finding the PERFECT dress. I live in Ontario, and had to return home before my dress was scheduled to arrive. As promised, they called to notify me of the arrival and shipped it to my doorstep. I had the dress in hand about a week after it arrived at the store. There is a twist though! I opened the package to inspect my dream gown, to find a small yet very noticeable stain one the bust (bummer!!). After a few phone calls and explanations, we were able to come to an agreement of me shipping this dress back, no charge and the Langley location ordering and shipping me another new dress. (Thankfully my wedding is a year away!) Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone involved was a tremendous help and very understanding of my needs. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I walked in not expecting to find anything I wanted to try and and low and behold, I did - as did one of my bridesmaids. We asked to try something on and were told that we had to have an appointment. We were not offered a time that someone would be free until I asked. They spoke to me like I was a hooker off the street. A lady then took the dresses from me and started to put them away, before finding out if I was going to make the appointment. While waiting to make the appt, the phillapeno(sp?) lady came up to me and said, "Fine, i'll take you but you WON'T get ANY of my attention!". I tried on a dress that I fell in love with, and tried on a second and she was right outside the door and asked, "Are you done yet? I have another client!" - I quickly rushed to get changed knowing I found the one I wanted and she walked to the counter with me as if she made the sale! As we were walking to our car, she pulled out in front of us in her mini van! She didn't have another client! She just wanted to go home!! I left there SO offended and shocked that they treat customers that way - it's a shame that I found a dress there but I'm glad I finally got one! My girls found their dresses too but we are buying them somewhere else. David's Bridal in Langley does NOT deserve any more of my money!! I get better service at McDonalds! read more
