Don't be turned off by the old orange awning or the low-tech website, this place is wonderful.
As soon as I walked in, Annie knew what the right cut of dress would be for me (although was kind enough to guide me into figuring it out on my own!) She and the other staff were pleasant and helpful, and I ended up with a beautiful, high-quality, custom-made, buttery Italian-silk wedding gown for the same price the other stores were selling cheap, awful, low-quality factory-produced dresses. The dress is outstanding and the material looks and feels so luxurious, especially by comparison to the other dresses in my price range ($1000-$1200) that I'd been trying on.
I was offered the option of paying $100 on top of the price of the dress to have it made to my custom measurements (rather than getting the nearest size and then paying for alterations), and that $100 also included the bustling, hemming, and all alterations - what a steal! The bustle actually stayed the whole night, too, despite conga lines and plenty of dancing - I thought they always ripped out. These ladies do good, high-quality work. The dress was modified to my requests, too: given a touch of a sweetheart neckline across the top, a corset-back (highly recommended for pre-wedding weight loss or stress bloat!), and detailing adjustments. They were able to make exactly what I wanted.
I also purchased my veil (and garter) from Annie, and she knowledgeably led me to the right style for me, just as she did with my dress.
Finding your dress can be stressful, and many of Vancouver's wedding stores are full of style but little substance. Despite the name, this place is full of substance. I was dubious when I first walked in to Style Bridal, but ended up having nothing but repeated great experiences throughout my shopping and fitting experiences - I highly recommend them! Ask for Annie - I greatly appreciated her knowledge and talent. read more
