If negative stars were possible I would be posting negative every way possible. I purchased a Lennox top of the line heat pump to replace a working furnace and central air conditioning unit that was very old and not very efficient. While they were installing some new heat ducts they collapsed part of my drop ceiling. They tried several times to repair with tape and wire and finally bought some cross bars and fixed it to an acceptable status. From the time the unit was installed the cooling did not work correctly and was very costly to use they attempted many repairs all summer long and then when the heat went out during the cold and they had to come out not once, but twice to figure out that the unit it's self was bad. So I made do with emergency heat until they could get back a few weeks later with a new unit. While all of this was going on one on the employees backed into and damaged my stairs. I took pictures and reported it to the manager. The employee did not tell me about the accident until the manager contacted the employee and told him to apologize. The manager told me that they had insurance and the stairs would be repaired. It happened that the stairs had just been painted the day before the accident. Months later a young man shows up unannounced and put some screws in the stair case and while complaining about a big sliver in his hand from the damaged railing he asked if that was good enough. He did not replace the splintering wood. Where he had installed screws he had split some wood and made the railing weaker and he did not even paint to cover up his shoddy work or the damage. And lastly after the unit had been in for about 10 months or so I notice a gas odor. I had noticed that my gas bill was higher than I thought that it should be, but it was a new system, so I did not know. Well, the gas odor got stronger and yes, there had been a gas leak all of these months. David White Services sent out a technician and he found the leak at the new unit, but he could not get it sealed and he did not have the materials needed to repair it, so my gas was shut off for a couple of weeks until they got back to do the repair. That meant that I had to make do with no cooking stove. I approached the company about repairing my stairs and some compensation for the lost gas.......oh, and they even showed up without tools so I loaned them mine, ALL of this and they respond to my request by sending me an email telling me that they had fulfilled their contract and would do no more. If I were an employee for this company I would be ashamed and as for the management their customer service and pride in their company is severely lacking. I am astonished by the excellent service from the Athens OH branch of David White Services. I was attempting to repair my own older model furnace myself, but the blower fan was not budging on the motor shaft. I called at least 8 other companies and asked if I could just bring the blower assembly to their shop, and have them pull and replace the motor while I wait in my car (Covid concious) and my local David White Service was the only one that would consider it, tho they told me I had to go to the Athens branch (45 minutes away) and specifically told me to talk to Tim, the service manager of that branch. I gave Tim a call, He said he could in fact do this for me, and verified he had a motor with the correct specs on hand. I drove to Athens, happy that I should be able to have my furnace working as tonight was going to be below freezing, and pretty cols all day as well. I dropped off the blower, waited in my car about 40 minutes, and Tim brought out my parts, apologized for the long wait but apparently that fan was REALLY stuck on the motor shaft, and, it turned out that though the motor he had the correct specs, it turned out that it was just a little bit larger in diameter and could not fit the mount. He had spent a lot of time trying to find another motor that would fit with no luck. He apologized profusely for having me drive all the way there and telling me the motor he had would work, and not being able to go home immediately with a assembled ready to install blower assembly. He said that the best he could do was to order a part from his supplier and have it in the next day, and I could pick it up then, and he would only charge me his cost plus tax for the motor and nothing for all his great effort to try to get me fixed up the same day as planned. I fortunately asked if I could do the hour drive to his supplier and pick the motor up myself, and he said actually that would work, He ordered the motor with his special pricing, let me pay him his cost plus tax, and gave me the information I needed to get the part. I thanked him relieved I could still have a warm house tonight, tried to at least give him a reasonable tip for all his efforts, which he refused saying basically that he hadn't really accomplished anything for me other than remove the motor (that would likely have been impossible for me to do). Long story short I only had to do a fair bit of driving, pay special pricing for the motor itself, and go home and install the much higher quality than original motor, and I am now sitting relaxing, the heat in my home quickly climbing to my comfort zone. This man, Tim, deserves a gold medal for going out of his way to help me, and mind you he felt really bad that though he had done far beyond what any other company would do, he couldn't deliver exactly on his promise and got me the part for less money than I could have purchased it myself. Even though things didn't exactly go as planned, I still had a working heater same day, and saved more than the gas and time worth on the entire deal. Great job Tim and thank you! I rarely see anywhere close to that sort of integrity and service mentality and ethics in today's business world! read more

One of the most unprofessional company's I've had the displeasure of dealing with. I was the one who had to do the leg work to actually get them to accept the job they quoted me on. I had to call the company back multiple times to get the appointment set up after they took half the cost for the job upfront. It was a constant game of the run around. The company has extremely poor communication and they don't work together to offer even a remotely reasonable experience for having work done through them. The day the contractors were supposed to come out 54 minutes before the job was due to start I got a phone call saying they would be a couple hours late. That alone is bad management and poor quality service. But even after the couple hours went buy no one showed up. They didn't show up until over 4 hours after they were due to be there. This caused the workers to stay past 5pm to complete the job they full well knew about and the time needed to complete. My wife's entire day was held up because of there inability to show up on time and complete the job in a timely manner. I called into David whites services and just got a slew of excuse from a lady who is apparently in charge. She said she appreciated my feedback but basically due to contracting reasons nothing will change. They quoted me to replace my ac unit at over 4800 dollars which I was going to do in the spring but I will certainly find another company to do that. I even explained to her that due to there poor management there loosing that job and me as a customer. She seemed to dismiss it and not care. And I began to explain that I don't know how a business can treat people they way they do and she straight up hung up on me. I never cussed or raised my voice and I kept it completely professional. Please seek other hvac company's out first before going with this company. I wouldn't recommend them for anything with there disrespect for the Customer and tardiness with endless bottomless excuses. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been a loyal customer of theirs for approximately 15 years in the Athens area. I have had multiple systems installed and serviced by them. After poor customer service on a service call by the tech a few weeks ago, I called about the problem and scheduled a return service call. This time the tech was a no call - no show. Day wasted. They rescheduled the service call a second time. Again a no call - no show. I called asking to speak to their senior manager. I was told the Service Manager had left for the day. This was 3:30 PM in the afternoon. I was told he would return at 8:00 AM the next morning. I expressed my extreme displeasure in their service and left explicit instructions for the manager to call me by 8:30 AM. 8:30 AM came and went with no call. If this is how they treat a loyal customer I will take my business to a competitor from now on. read more

My furnace was working good, but it was time to have maintenance. So, a David White service call was arranged for 12-21-17. The service call went so well, the furnace stopped working at all. The dope that came out apparently shut something off & forget to turn it back on. So, Friday, 12-22-17, we called the David White Services repeatedly & only got recordings about their high call volume & that they will return the calls. Which they didn't. Tomorrow is Sunday, 12-24-17 & I seriously doubt if they'll be in then. Monday is 12-25-17, Christmas Day. And I know we'll be out of luck then. The temps are supposed to be in the single digits the next few days. Thanks for nothing, David White Services. read more

I have purchased two heat pumps off of this company, both have gone bad and cost me over $500/month in electric bills before the problem was found and "fixed". Recently had a coil replaced and they forgot to put a plug in the secondary drain so I had water all over the basement floor. They had to have known it was missing because they covered the drain with insulation. The other drain was configured so the water had to drain Uphill first. Forget the service agreement!! No problem will be found even though you tell them that something isn't working right each time they come. It will only be fixed when the service agreement lapses and then, oh boy, a big bill and problems found. Called them today to tell them what another company found and they talked over me while I tried to explain the problem. Called me defensive and HUNG up on me. They do not like assertive customers. I don't think they would have hung up on a man, I was not shouting or cursing, only telling them my dissatisfaction with the way the repair was done. Will NEVER do business with them again. Not good customer service to hang up on your customer and tell me that I'm in defense mode. Really? I paid them $800 and didn't receive a 25 cent plug to keep my basement dry. read more
