2017 home in Rowlett. dealt with many problems interior and exterior due to poor construction and workmanship. David Weekley construction mgr literally cussed us because we wouldnt recommend to friends and family. Now exterior four ft retaining wall wall that holds up elevated lot is collapsing and Weekley says "not our problem" even though they supposedly have ten year structural warranty. I should have read all the negative reviews before we bought this house. worst experience ever. read more

Homes are beautiful! However do not use their recommend loan officer for their incentive. Unfortunately Jason can not read a paystub. They will pre approve you and tell you how easy you are to work with and even give you an additional 5k off the home price! All because YOU as the buyer made it so simple. Unfortunately because their recommended loan officer couldn't read a pay stub and approved us initially, ultimately he said no. So we sought out another loan. During the time we sought out another loan, we received a check back in the mail only returning 10k of the 15k we put down. No explanation no anything. Just a here is a check. Ultimately we were approved for the loan and would have put purchase the home we originally wanted, but due to the actions of Clay Bagley At David Weekley we purchased another home Mantua. BUYERS PROTECT YOURSELF WHEN DEALING WITH CLAY BAGLEY OR STEPHANIE (I'm bumbling through why we are stealing 5k from you) Jones. We were asked to update this post by Stephanie Jones. We did receive all our earnest money back weeks later after constant phone calls and emails and ultimately letting Clay know we would contact corporate. Never any communication. Just a check back. We did reach back out to buy purchase the home. But we never received a call or return email. Which is funny because months later the lot is still available. But we HAD TO BEG for more time as we sought approval elsewhere. As of today no one has purchased the lot. If David Weekley or any employees of David Weekley would like us to remove or edit this post, please reach out. I'd love to add more to this story. read more

Stephanie, Aubree, and Katie. My dream team! From the beginning, I mean day 1 as I'm barely putting the car in drive after touring DW homes in Pecan Square Northlake, Stephanie showed amazing customer service and care. She was extremely prompt in returning calls, following up, and getting us everything we needed in a timely manner. Add to this her amazing guidance, advice, and ability to break things down. I was hesitant not to use a realtor and Stephanie really pulled through. Our design center experience...truly exceptional. Katie was knowledgable, fun, and wonderful to work with. We told her what our desired outcome was, and she steered us to exactly what we needed in every aspect of the house. She was quick to suggest upgrades where they were needed, or would provide value for the extra cost, and where we should dial back. I never felt she was trying to push me into anything and I trusted every recommendation she made. As with any new build, the builder is one of the most critical members of the team. Aubree was phenomenal!!! I couldn't ask for a more complementary builder to my inner-OCD. She noticed things we would have never thought about, was consistent in following up with the trades, and kept us on timeline...timeline was a true feat considering we bought during COVID-19 and a lot of people I knew were building had been experiencing delays. Even after our move in, Aubree did not abandon us. For anyone who has built, or hasn't for that matter, you should know that some times you'll have things that you simply can't catch before closing. Window sills that let a little rain through have to wait until the first rain. Things like that. Aubree was very quick to get these addressed, was very patient, and was super helpful in helping us get transitioned to our warranty. In total, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The right location and the right elevation being checked on my checklist, I would definitely choose DW for my next build....which I plan do do in 3-5 years (economy permitting). read more

Building a home is a completely new experience for my wife and I. We found a terrific subdivision in Highland Village and decided to take a look. The Sakes team, Heather and Gina could not have been nicer or more helpful. Upon touring the model, we decided to take the leap. The process has been smooth and supportive all along. Well, today the bar was was raised again. We had our design consultation with Cindy and, if there's anything not positive...we have to wait and patience has never been one of my virtues. Anyway, Cindy is SUPER talented and is only rivaled by her professionalism and attitude. My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic morning going over our selections. We highly recommend DWH for anyone looking to build their dream home, as working with them is a dream! read more

Don't buy David Weekley homes. It was raining in my walls and I had water damage. I told them that the flashing was missing by the windows which let in a lot water over the short life span of the House. The reply I received was that this was a maintenance issue even though the exact same houses on the street had flashing. The house wasn't even 4 years old and this is a maintained issue? As of today they tried to fix it, but we are still getting moisture inside the house and David Weekley is still telling me it's a msintainence issue. #dontbuydavidweekley read more

David Weekley is proud of its reputation as offering a great experience with excellent service and quality in "building exceptional homes". But what we experienced was the opposite. We had several problems with our home, including a drainage problem which they took one year to fix after several complaints and conversations. We also had a leak. Within months of buying our house, there was a periodic dripping noise from an interior room but there was no sign of any leak. Then after about a year there was an obvious leak and when the David Weekley warranty person came to evaluate, they said it was caused by the recent hail storm and/or our roofer who replaced the roof (even though I never brought that up). It was clear his primary goal was to make sure David Weekley would not have to fix anything, which was clearly his only goal with our drainage problem. I told him there was a periodic dripping noise right after we moved in and he said it that was caused by the wind. Also, an independent inspector told us that the originally installed roof was done with cheap materials and poorly installed--which was a surprise because of David Weekley's reputation. Of course, our roofer said the same thing--in fact, he said a good brand new roof should not have a leak due to a single hail storm. Also, in each of first two winters our heater has stopped working. I have never experienced my heater stopping to work in my previous houses. I asked multiple HVAC companies and they said that a brand new HVAC should not have that happen. Of course, when I asked the HVAC company why it happened--they said there was no specific reason the first winter and the second winter they said because I should use a Honeywell filter instead of 3M filter (basically that I should use a specific brand). Even if that is correct and reasonable, why would they not know that and tell me at any time before since they have been out multiple times before. Keep in mind, this is the same HVAC company David Weekley uses for all of their homes. So we had a drainage problem, a leak, and our heater has gone out every winter (not including other minor issues). If you are considering David Weekley, make sure you remember that reputation can be misleading and if you do buy their house don't try to be nice about any issues and make sure you document everything and notify them in writing in a timely manner because after you buy, their primary goal is to minimize the cost of having to repair anything. read more

David Weekley Homes sucks as a corporation. They may build a nice home but are terrible at keeping their promises to their home buyers. If you purchase a home from them just be aware that you are getting what you see. Anything said or promised beyond that will be difficult to realize from them. read more

Cant begin to describe all of the various issues we have had with our house, Id like to personally thank David Weekley for the most recent disaster. One of your brainiac contractors installed the check valve on the drain line for the hot water heater pan backwards. Now I have lots of ceiling repair to look forward to. NEVER again. read more

Bought a Weekley home in Craig Ranch. 5 star experience before, during and after the sale. No one I know with a new home has had this great of an experience. Thank you all. Great job! read more

BUYER BEWARE: Would not recommend this builder. David Weekely has outlived their past accolades and awards. In our experience, they continue to not live up to their prior reputation of quality and service. We had a terrible build experience that now continues into warranty. Perhaps David Weekley is overbuilding in the DFW area and no longer has enough quality contractors and sub-contractors accessible. We have had issues with workmanship, builder errors, property damage, no shows, timeline slippage and poor communication. We continue to miss work to accommodate this seemingly endless cycle of do overs and with nothing more than a "we're sorry". Yes, indeed. read more
