He also recommended styles that fit with my hair's texture and length, and what looks best for my face. I like that they also don't oversell you on the products they use - they know the products they have are on the more expensive side. The service you get here is great - there's someone to help take your jacket and put it away, and the brief head massages you get while they wash your hair is heavenly! What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.

The online booking system doesn't even provide a bang trim option. I get prioritizing full cut and colour apts for the money but, from a customer service perspective this is terrible treatment. Allan aggressively razored my hair, removed an unbelievable amount of density, and created short, choppy layers that I never asked for. Throughout the appointment my hair was positioned in a way that prevented me from seeing what was actually being done until it was too late. Now, over 8 weeks later, my hair is still a disaster. The ends are frayed, shredded, and breaking. It genuinely looks as though a weed whacker was taken to it. My hair had thickness, length, and health before this appointment. Now it looks damaged, uneven, and lifeless. Yes, he refunded the haircut. But a refund does not give me my hair back. I would have gladly paid thousands of dollars to avoid this experience altogether. What makes this even worse is what happened afterward. When I left an honest review describing my experience, Allan attempted to pressure me into removing it. After I repeatedly requested that no video of me be posted, a video was uploaded anyway. Instead of showing any understanding for the damage caused, I received emails telling me I should be happy with the result. Imagine being told to be grateful after your hair has been completely destroyed. I have never written a review like this before. In fact, I rarely leave reviews at all. It is beautiful, the people are nice, and the vibe is not too trendy like you can find in some shops across town, but it is not outdated either. So I saw a Groupon and some great reviews for this salon and went ahead to book an appointment. The salon is clean, easy to find, very open and well lit. You immediately feel comfortable. My stylist was the lovely Marjorie, the sweetest Irish girl you'll ever meet. She took time to discuss my hair and what I wanted and she made sure I was comfortable with everything at every step of the way. She even happily took photos for my before and afters!! I ended up cutting over 14 inches for Locks of Love and thanks to Marjorie, was completely comfortable and very very happy with the cut. She gave me choices and suggestions and wasn't afraid to let me know when something else would work better than what I had in mind. She's experienced and also wonderful company. I would recommend her for everyone!! I am now happily rockin my new style and the best part is that I love it because Marjorie took the time to make sure of everything before taking the scissors to the hair! This place is definitely not one of those places that discuss you or rush you away because you have a Groupon.
