Wonderful little chocolate shop in the Plant Street Market in Winter Garden. I stopped by here after a meal to pick up some amazing macaroons. They have so many flavors to try and they're decorated wonderfully. It was just before Valentine's day, so they have pretty ones for the holiday. They also had a cute Stitch one. I ended up up getting a box with 5 flavors - Red Velvet, Mango and Raspberry were a few of the flavors. I got them as a gift for my daughter and she LOVED them. She said they were some of the best she has had. She particularly enjoyed the fruit flavored ones. Located in the Plant Street Market is a small dessert shop! I was so excited to try it because all of the mini cakes looked so delicious! I ordered a Coconut Bread Pudding and an assortment of 5 macarons. For the macarons I got Tiramisu, Birthday Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cotton Candy and Coconut. All were absolutely amazing. I was most excited for the Coconut Bread Puddling and wow what a disappointment, it was drier than the Sahara Desert and had no flavor. I was thinking about returning it but instead I threw it away. Maybe it was sitting in that case all day? I don't know but it was terrible. I'll be back to get some more macarons but I won't try any more mini desserts. read more

An absolute must try when you visit the Plant St. Market. They are just about in the middle of the building and have easy to see signage hanging from the ceiling. The chocolate case runs down the side and they also offer gelato. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. If you aren't sure what to try, be sure to ask and they can make recommendations based off your taste. You can also do a 4- or 6- pack box and try a few options to see what you like. The key lime tart and the chocolate peanut butter tarts were to die for - not too sweet or overpowering. They were perfectly balanced and super delicious. Well worth the $6-7 per tart. We decided to visit this market since we were in the area. I was very excited to see all the beautiful things they had to offer. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. the macaroons were all stale. Biting into them felt like eating a hard chocolate chip cookie. Having lived in France for a few years, I'm well aware of what a macaroon should taste like. I purchased 5 pack and was extremely disappointed considering the price. Not one resembled the taste they were advertised to have either. I also purchased two domes. One raspberry and pina colada. A chocolate covered bacon and a smores stick. The young girl was refusing to give me a box for our items as I live 48 minutes away and could not carry them in my hands. I paid and After agreeing to the box, she said nastly " I'm not giving you a bag though". Then she could not even figure out how to close the box with all my goods Inside. I had to do it myself. While the chocolates are generally good, I thought I'd try something different and got the peanut butter dome. For over 8 bucks, it was highly disappointing. First, it was stale and the crust tasted like refrigerator. Second, it had a large apricot jellied filling which was not mentioned and did not work well with the rest of it. Lesson learned, stick with the chocolates if you're getting anything. read more

This place is great! I went on a mission for hot cocoa bombs for my daughters after the holidays. They also had macaroons and so everyone is a happy camper. Awesome chocolates especially the truffles - I am a true chocoholic and enjoy fine chocolate. I recommend you get a 12 piece or larger sampler to truly appreciate David's work - I have traveled the world and sampled many fine chocolates and his are on par with the very best. I actually met David Ramirez last Friday at his Central Florida Parkway location. My brother lives in the area and we stay at The Grande Lakes resort regularly. I have been meaning to stop in to sample his chocolates and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. Was at the Plant Street Market on 10/14/23 and I saw they had gelato, my wife's favorite. I ordered a pistachio gelato and I swear to god it looked like they barely put a spoonful in the cup. They asked if I wanted a 2nd scope for $4.25 and I politely declined. Paid and started to walk away, watched my wife take her 1st taste and watched as a sour look came over her face. I knew right away it was bad. I tried it, and it had a very gummy freezer burn taste, no taste of pistachio whatsoever, I immediately went to return it, they offered to get some "fresh" from the same batch. I politely declined and said I wanted a refund. To their credit they were very gracious and gave me a refund without balking but there needs to be some sort of quality control before you start to dole it out to the customers. read more

This is quaint Chocolate Shop is nestled within the Winter Garden Plant Street Market. For a small space they offer a nice selection of Chocolates, Macarons and Gelato. I decided I couldn't pass by without taking a few items home. I chose three chocolates and three macarons. I loved the little tray that the chocolates were packed in to keep them from breaking in transport. The same goes for the nice box the macarons were nestled in. If you have every tried to travel with macarons, very often they are so delicate they end up crumbling, but these all made it home intact. The customer service was fair but I wasn't overly impressed. She didn't try to interact with us too much and we were the only customers at the time. When I was finally able to take a taste of the chocolates I was very impressed by the flavors I tried, especially the Lemon Blueberry piece. Very bright in flavor. The macarons were delicate in flavor, but I found the filling a little softer than I am used to. But overall, if I found myself at Plant Street Market again, I would probably try other flavors. My favorite of the flavors I tried was probably Coconut. Bonn Appetite! read more

I have been to MANY chocolate shops and nothing has come close to perfect as David Ramirez chocolates. It's not only the chocolates that are perfect, but his macaroons as well. When I say I have a sweet tooth, I really mean I do.. so much that it is my dream in life to jump in a pool of chocolate and lick the chocolate off my hands. One day you'll see.. haha David Ramirez chocolates stood out so far from the rest of the chocolatiers by many milestones in terms of flavor, texture and flavor composition. Let me explain. Sure there are many flavor combinations that are not new, but the way he composed the flavor, is unique. For example my favorite the red velvet. Red velvet flavor is not new obviously and many chocolate shops have this flavor and it is usually cream cheese with chocolate. But his red velvet was a chocolate with red velvet cake crumbs inside. Absolutely took me by surprise and the best part it was freaking delicious!!!!! It's stuff like that that we're unique in his chocolates. He has some unique flavor as well like guava cheese. It literally tasted like guava cheese but in chocolate form. I have no clue how he did it. The chocolates with alcohol certainly had a kick to it. I definitely tasted the jack Daniel's in jack Daniels chocolate lol. Pretty strong. These are chocolates synonymous with perfection. Also I never really cared for macaroons. Every time I had one before, it was just whatever or dry and extremely small. But my gosh David Ramirez macaroons?!!! Sign me up!!! Beautiful size and not flaky or dry at all. This has made me a fan of macaroons. Most importantly, it was absolutely absolutely delicious. Among my favorite macaroons was red velvet and cookies and cream. Possibly some of the best customer service I've ever had from the worker, Mason. We walked past this little chocolate spot in plant st market. If you walk too fast you will miss it because it's not listed on their website! We went to just look, but struck up a beautiful conversation with him about how all their chocolate is handmade and PAINTED! When I tell you I haven't had chocolate this good since Belgium this is a MUST STOP! We tried the snickerdoodle, chocolate almond, peanut butter, and a tiramisu macaroon. Holy cow! This place was great. We tried them at the Winter garden location and loved every single piece of the 12 pack that we bought. my favorite would probably have been the key lime. How can you go wrong with that while living in Florida? It's a little pricey at $2 per piece, but definitely worth it. I will absolutely be back and recommend this to anyone that would like name brand gourmet chocolate. And then the gal Manning the booth was great and excellent at providing recommendations and even gave us a couple of samples to try. The Pina colada was incredible but it was the last piece that they had. I will definitely be back and ask for a box for my birthday next month. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. We were in the Plant Street Market and my kids wanted a treat. They love macaroons so when they saw those I knew what we were buying. They were offering a 3 for $5 treat so one of the kids did 3 macaroons and the other did 1 macaroon and 2 chocolates. The both said how delicious they were and scarfed them up. Their favorite macaroon was the birthday one with sprinkles (not sure if that was name, but it did have sprinkles). The heart chocolate just melted in your mouth. Asked for milk chocolate, most of the chocolates in the box were bitter and dark, including several that were described as dark on their own website. When I emailed them to inquire about it their response was that the website was run by someone else and the descriptions were incorrect. Talk about gaslighting! This is apparently the smaller outpost of the chocolate shop owned by the pastry chef of the Rosen Shingle Creek resort. Found within the relatively new Plant St. Market, which is like a local co-op market/farmer's market featuring butchers, small restaurants and local shops. It's quite nice. As for the shop itself, it features reasonably priced chocolates in large variety, with a majority being dark chocolate confections. They were quite good. Also, the service was friendly and helpful. Unlike, apparently, the main shop there is no coffee, but they do have gelato which we didn't try. I particularly liked the dark chocolate Absinthe Licorice, as it combined chocolate with the black licorice flavor I enjoy -- although your mileage may vary. My wife's preference was for the 80% dark chocolate ganache. read more

All I can say is BACON! When you take the time to chocolate cover bacon you have thought it out well! This is hands down one of my favorite treats. Lord knows I don't need it, but if I must might as well have chocolate with my bacon. It does sound crazy but it's the best. My other favorite is the chocolate covered Nutter Butter topped with bacon! Yes indeed, they went there! More bacon!
