Dr. Torosis and his team are all outstanding and I have had at least three routine colonoscopies…read more(every five years) from him. Each one has been "wonderful" in that his office staff and medical staff are very kind. Dr. Torosis, the anesthesiologists and nursing staff have been extremely gentle and patient with me when I had questions, before, during and after. The whole procedure has been fast and painless and recovery was super quick. It's no fun doing the prep but the next day, when the colonoscopy is done, it's fast and they provide photos and a printout of instructions before you leave.

I have gone to Dr Young for years. My most recent colonoscopy will be my last. I woke up during the…read moreprocedure. I could see the probe going through my colon and watched it for awhile. I could hear his comments. Then he passed. a spot that looked like a sesame seed (I'm not kidding) and I had a salad with sesame seeds on it about 4 days prior. I guess the prep didn't get everything. So I commended on eating the salad. Dr Young went berserk. He screamed at me, "You should be sedated!!!" He screamed at the nurse. Within minutes I was heavely sedated and it took me more than the regular time to wake up. I did not think waking up during the procedure was my fault. I was in no pain. No need to lose it! I was awake of at least 8 minutes and it was fun to watch. What's up with his temper? Screaming at me? Nope.

Extremely disappointed with the unprofessional, rude and unethical quality of service from Dr…read more Harvey Young's office. I had recently scheduled a routine colonoscopy exam for my elderly mother. She had been a regular patient of Dr. Young's for years. We had to reschedule her exam due to a conflict. We notified his office nearly four weeks in advance about the need to reschedule. Their cancellation policy states that patients need to give them at least 7 days notice to reschedule or face a possible cancellation fee. We respectfully followed their cancellation policy. No problem right? When my mother called to confirm her rescheduled appointment, we were shocked at their response. His office said she would have to pay close to $300 in appointment rescheduling fees - even though we had clearly followed their rules. We had cancelled her exam well ahead of time. If she did not agree to paying this fee, his office would drop her as a patient. What type of medical professional does this? Is this how you treat an elderly woman who has been a regular, loyal patient of yours for years? All this for $300? Is this type of behavior even ethical? I am shocked, disappointed and upset at how she have been treated. I am appalled at how his office has refused to honor its own rules when patients have dutifully followed them. No one deserves to be treated so disrespectfully and dishonestly like this. No one!

Dr. Yu…read morewas very knowledgeable and recommended doing gastroscopy in addition due to my ulcer history. The assistant called me and explained in my native Cantonese that she checked with my insurance and found that the gastroscopy was part of the deductible. A large Polyp was found and Dr. Yu showed the pictures after I recovered. He personally called at 8:30 at night a couple of days later to explain that the polyp was in pre-cancer state was I should follow up in three years. I will do just that.

I had my colonoscopy and endoscopy done by Dr. Yu. When he called to give me a report, It was completely out of the office hour: 10 pm. It took me off guard that I did not have all the questions I wanted to ask him back until the next day I saw the report again. When his office called me, I asked those questions and wanted to talk to him. Instead, this receptionist who called answered to my question. I told her that she was not a trained doctor and my questions should be addressed to Dr. Yu. she wanted to schedule another appointment, meaning I had to pay my copayment and charging for insurance. You did not even give me a chance to ask proper questions and wanted to charge me to set up a new appointment? Also, this receptionist needs to be reminded that she is not a trained medical service provider. None of my questions should have been answered by you such as side effects, why x number of polyps but some were cancerous. You should be very careful with medical advice here. Very upsetting experience. for your information, asking additional questions is part of the exam I paid for.

Excellent Colonoscopy! Would receive a colonoscopy from again. (and probably will)…read more I need a colonoscopy every 1-2 years due to my medical history. I like to do it without anesthesia so I can get on with my day. I've had 3 from another provider before having one from Dr. Simpson. Best colonoscopy ever! The previous provider would keep pushing the instrument forward no matter what, but Dr. Simpson would back it out and untwist it before going forward again, and this made a huge difference in my discomfort level. He described it like pushing on a rope, trying to get the rope across the room. If the rope snakes up too much, you have to back off to straighten it before pushing forward again. The lab tech (I'm sorry, I forget his name) was also excellent. He was able to put his hand on my abdomen at exactly the right spot, while also providing counter pressure on my back, so that when the instrument turned the corner in my colon it did so well and efficiently the first time. That's the most uncomfortable part of the procedure, but because of their expertise, it went well. Getting a colonoscopy without anesthesia isn't for the faint of heart. I would describe it as "extremely uncomfortable" but it never rose to the level of "pain" with Dr. Simpson. If you are considering it, I highly recommend him as a doctor. He also followed up with me about my genetics and recommendations that were personalized to me, which I greatly appreciate.

Just wanted to update my old review as I resolved my "GI issues". My old review was way too long…read moretalking about my diet and wasn't relevant. This is the relevant part "Just had a visit with Dr. Simpson and he was extremely thorough in his assessment. Usually doctors spend 15 minutes with me tops but our appointment lasted almost an hour! I was impressed with how he didn't just jump to antibiotics but rather wanted to rule out any major problems instead of just using a blanket treatment that treated symptoms." I've seen enough GI docs to know that if they can't find anything major and simply call it IBS, believe them. Now what is IBS? That's where you gotta go down the rabbit hole and it well after years and years of seeing doctors and changing my diet I can tell you it's psychological. If you dare, look into TMS (mind body stuff dr. Sarno). Cheers

Dr. Lally has been around the GI block and his knowledge of newly emerging technology, new discoveries in disease, and diagnosis is unbelievable. He has never rushed me in or out of the office and even when I thought there was no problem, he felt he needed to get to the bottom of my symptoms. His bedside manner is wonderful, he is kind, caring and concerned. And after doing this for so many years he seems to have an innate sense for a person's condition and symptoms.
