I recently visited Dr. Morgan's office for oral surgery and was very satisfied with the service that I received. Dr. Morgan is a very kind and thoughtful doctor and took the time to explain the procedure to me and make sure that I felt comfortable prior to surgery. In fact, during my consultation before surgery Dr. Morgan impressed me with his ability to put me at ease and explain all of my options to ensure I was comfortable during the procedure and after. On the day of the surgery, everything went smoothly and lasted just as long as Dr. Morgan had predicted! It was as close to a 5 star experience as any sort of oral surgery can be. While he is very kind, some of the staff members aren't as patient or friendly, and I felt like (more than once) my questions were an inconvenience or annoyance. If it hadn't been for such an amazing consultation with Dr. Morgan, I'm unsure I would've proceeded with surgery at the practice. Nonetheless, he made it worth it and I am pleased with how everything went! read more

I would like to take this time to post a raving review on Dr. David Morgan. I was referred to him by my primary dentist for tooth extraction. I have not been handled by a dentist so good that I never felt anything at all. His hands were so light that I did not even notice the job was already done - AMAZING. No pain at all. The office was so good in doing their follow reminders and was on top on getting back to me when I request for change of appointment. I cannot ask for a BETTER dentist and dental staff. I came here to get my wisdom teeth pulled and it was a pleasant experience. I had to get all 4 removed and the surgery was pretty quick about 45 min. I didn't feel a thing and Dr Morgan and the dental assistant were very kind and explained the whole process thoroughly. He also doesn't require follow ups which is good especially since I healed pretty well. For payment, they accept a good range of insurance and they offer payment plans as well. read more

I couldn't be more happier with my experience at this dental practice. I needed to have two teeth pulled but didn't have an oral surgery that I trusted. After looking on Yelp and google I found Dr. Morgan and read his reviews and scheduled an appointment. June 25th was my first appointment. I thought it would be a consultation but Dr. Morgan was ready to treat me the same day. I was not expecting this but appreciated the care of my time. As someone who has anxiety especially with the dentist I did not want to complete the proceed that day. Dr. Morgan was totally understanding of this and stated he would do whatever I was comfortable with. He gave me a few treatment options and went over what the insurance would cover with sedation. Because I wanted to be put to sleep we agreed to pull all 3 at once. I worked with the young lady at the front desk and was scheduled for the July 6th. This procedure was painless and pleasant. Both encounters with Dr. Morgan was pleasant. He was personable and made me feel clam and well taken care of. And we had a few good laughs which is always nice. Dr. Morgan extracted two teeth on opposite sides and locations (one on top the other on the bottom) and removed root from my wisdom teeth extraction that was left by another dentist. It's been a day after my surgery and I feel good. There is minimal discomfort but a bit of swelling which I think is minimal as well. Considering the work that was needed. Was having some discomfort with my wisdom teeth and wanted to have them removed as quickly as possible. I called 2-3 other places and with it being right before the start of a new school year apparently it was hard to get an appointment at a decent time. Found Dr. Morgan and was able to get in same day for the consultation. Staff was very friendly and seemed to establish a good rapport with other patients. They even seem to get along pretty well amongst themselves. Was able to set up an appointment soon after and pick up the medication and oral rinse. Extraction was seamless and had an easy and quick recovery. They send you home with a care bag complete with chapstick, gauze, oral swab, instructions, etc. Stitches dissolve on their own so there's no need to return unless there's a problem. Overall, I'm very pleased with my visit and would definitely refer others to this location for any oral surgical needs. read more

I made a Yelp just to write a review on how AMAZING Dr. Morgan is! I recently had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted which I was sedated for. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful with my nervousness of being sedated. The healing process was going very smoothly and pain free until I got a dry socket. I was super nervous about having to wait until Monday because it was a Friday night and I know they are closed on weekends, but have no fear Dr. Morgan was here on a Saturday at 10:30am! Dr. Morgan and his staff are fantastic! My entire family has been seeing him for the past 5 years for various procedures despite the 45 minute drive from my house to his office. During all of our visits, we have always had a positive experience. His staff is always helpful and friendly and has remained the same (no turn-over is a clear sign that they are happy to be there). Between us all, we've had a total of 12 implant procedures, 3 bone grafts, 4 wisdom teeth removed, 3 complex tooth extractions and orthodontic related surgery. Dr. Morgan always takes his time explaining procedures and answering questions thoroughly. He is a master with proper numbing and after care pain management. His assistant is great at helping to ease any pre-procedure anxiety and is able to answer a lot of questions as well. Billing has always gone smoothly and Jessica is very thorough at explaining all the costs and payment options. The office is always very clean and his appointments begin as scheduled. I think there has only been one time when his prior appointment was running late and I was immediately notified of the 10 minute delay. read more

I was referred to Dr. Morgan by my dentist after an infection and inflammation appeared on my right jaw. He prescribed a stronger dose of antibiotics and within 4 days my swelling was significantly reduced. I scheduled the tooth extraction on the 15th January 2021, and the procedure was completed within 20 minutes. The healing process is going very well so far.. The only recommendation I have, is for his Assistant. She repeatedly stated "No Smoking" three times. First and foremost, I am not a smoker and when I completed the COVID Questionnaire, I checked the box confirming that I didn't smoke. In addition, I informed her that I wasn't a smoker. Unfortunately, many assumptions are made based on biases, prejudices, based on our skin color. Please inform the Assistant/Staff of the after care instructions and Do Not Assume patients of color are all smokers. Thank you. read more

Dr. Morgan was such a unexpected great find for my daughters surgery. Love his demeanor and bedside manner. He is an excellent surgeon and takes care in everything he does with his patients. Worked well with my daughter's orthodontist as well. Love him and would recommend to anyone who needs jaw surgery. The drive to Alexandria from Herndon was well worth it each time. Here is her story. During my daughter's senior year of high school, she went to Tisseront Orthodontists. She has had problems with her bite since she had teeth. This is the second time she had braces. Dr. Tisseront suggested that she should have lingual braces (braces on the inside of the teeth) it was great, no one knew she had braces! But it still wasn't enough to fix her bite. He suggested she may need jaw surgery. After New Years in January she had double jaw surgery. The recovery of it was uncomfortable, but sooo worth it. Dr. T and her surgeon Dr. Morgan have done a tremendous job and make a great team. She got her braces off last week and we can't believe she is finally finished with her teeth. I highly and thoroughly recommend Dr. Morgan. I was a patient of Dr. Morgan's for about a two year period. As I was undergoing braces to fix bite and other issues, my orthodontist recommended Dr. Morgan for wisdom teeth extractions and orthognatic/jaw surgery. My first consultation with him went great. In just a few minutes, I felt comfortable asking questions and voicing my concerns about both procedures. He was calm and comforting and very informational throughout this time, and 10 minutes into the consultation, I felt very safe and reassured that this was the doctor that I wanted to stick with for the next two years. My wisdom teeth extraction was excellent. I had 4 extractions, but was in and out of the office in about an hour period. The post-procedure instructions were very clear. I did not have any obstacles in recovering and was back to normal activities within the day (did take it easy with exercise and eating per instructions). In the year that followed, I had a few appointments with Dr. Morgan to figure out the jaw surgery as it was a major surgery and had to also coincide with my orthodontist's instructions. These pre-surgery appointments went smoothly, and Dr. Morgan made sure that the molds of my teeth were perfect and to his standards. He was also very mindful that I lived about an hour away. The day of the surgery, Dr. Morgan arrived and was very calming and reassuring to both my family and myself. The surgery took a few hours and he made sure to communicate with my family as I was waking up from the anesthesia. The next day, Dr. Morgan checked up on me and provided us with clear instructions for how to recover (he had already done so prior to the surgery, but he made sure to do it again). And then I was discharged smoothly. Three days after the surgery, where the swelling was at a peak point and I was not handling it well personally, Dr. Morgan had me come in immediately outside of our scheduled appointment to check up on me and to ensure that I was okay. After arriving to his office, he quickly addressed every concern, ensuring that this was part of the process, and that it was mainly mental (the swelling combined with the weakness post surgery, and the medications); in all, he helped get through the toughest moment post-surgery. I visited Dr. Morgan every week for a 2 month period to ensure that my recovery was going well (per his instructions), and each time, he listened before he did what that appointment was for. At first, I communicated with a whiteboard and marker, and slowly, verbally; he was very patient in this as well. Two months after the surgery, Dr. Morgan took off the splint I had in my mouth, checked my bite, and cleared me to begin eating normally. At first, I did not want to get this surgery. However, I am thankful I did it, but I am most thankful to Dr. Morgan for making it such a calm and informed experience. Definitely recommended! Review also posted on Google! read more

I had jaw surgery (BSSO) with Dr. Morgan to correct a problem with my bite. It was a major inpatient procedure done at Reston hospital, and I had post-op visits at both the Alexandria office and the Reston office (which is under another practice). The surgery went really well, and the recovery has been as expected. I'm happy with my results both in terms of the functional and cosmetic improvements. Thanks to Dr. Morgan, I now have a perfect bite! I met with Dr. Morgan a number of times from initial consultation, wisdom teeth extraction, surgery planning, actual surgery, to post-op visits. Each time, he has been extremely patient with me, answering my endless questions. I think it's rare these days to find a doctor who is willing to spend the time to address your needs, and not simply rush to his next appointment. During my stay at Reston hospital, two nurses complimented on Dr. Morgan's surgical skills in front of me - while Dr. Morgan was not around. The first person was a nurse in the OR, who talked to me before I went under. The second was my nurse in the overnight/recovery room, who took care of me after my operation, who also mentioned that she's sending her own son to Dr. Morgan for the same surgery. It really struck me that two people gave such positive, completely unsolicited feedback about a surgeon (behind his back). My wisdom tooth (erupted) removal, which happened last year, was also pretty smooth. It was done at the Reston office, and the entire procedure took less than 20 minutes (including the time to administer anesthisia). I remembered being pretty nervous -- I had wisdom teeth removed before, but it's never pleasant to see someone yank a tooth out of your mouth -- and I recalled Dr. Morgan and his assistant cracking jokes to calm my nerves. I took two advils after I went home, then was pretty much back to normal. I have not had problems with long waiting time at the Alexandria office, of the times I've been there. It probably helps that many of my appointments were right after lunch hours, so there weren't many patients before me. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Morgan enough! I have been putting off the oral surgery because my dentist office (in-network) was trying to charge me $1200.00 for anesthesia/surgery. I work in billing so I know my plan very well and know this was not correct. After fighting with my dentist office several times, I gave up. I spoke with my co-worker who recommended Dr. Morgan! As soon as I called, Jessica was very friendly and informative on getting my records sent over and setting me up for a consultation. During my consultation, Dr. Morgan explained the entire procedure throughly and answered all my questions. He has great bedside manner, and got me in quickly for the surgery. As soon as I discussed costs they knew my plan and knew I only had to pay $40 because of my plan, not the $1200 my dentist was trying to charge me!!! I didn't even have to tell them! Earned lots of brownie points on that part. During the anesthesia I was a little nervous but the nurse (I forgot her name) was very nice and good at making me feel at ease. That day normal pain, NOTHING like the pain I was expecting, more like uncomfortable in the mouth. Day 5 today and still no swelling or any complications. I had such a great experience with everything that my husband is now set up for surgery! I will recommend this office to everyone! read more

Seriously if you live in alexandria and you need a wisdom tooth taken out or any kind of jaw surgery this guy is the best. I had 1 wisdom tooth taken out 4 years ago and it was so painful and the dr was mean and not very concerned with my pain. Dr. Morgan has the best bed side manner he is so friendly and easy going and very professional. His staff is all so sweet and and friendly! I went home and felt great! I mean I had 3 wisdom teeth out so it's going to take a second to heal but the side that has only 1 tooth taken out is feeling like nothing ever happened. Very bright and clean office! Long overdue update that I've been meaning to write for a long time - the healing experience from having all of my wisdom teeth could not have been easier. Each day for the first few days after the procedure I woke up fully prepared for the pain to kick in (I have a very low pain tolerance) and to see a chipmunk looking back at me in the mirror. I called Dr. Morgan's office at 2:45 and they set me up for an appointment at 3:15. I made it to the office and was greeted by a super friendly staff as well as the doctor. Awesome! I am terrified of the dentist, so when my husband finally forced me to go in for tooth pain, I was petrified. I was referred to Dr. Morgan from my dentist. He stayed after hours to look at me. I needed a wisdom tooth pulled. Dr. Morgan told me exactly what to expect, and was very personable. The entire staff was very personable and helpful. I was having some pain issues the other day and called the office. Within a half hour Dr. Morgan called me back and we talked about options. I am very impressed! Dr. Morgan is just the oral surgeon I was looking for and am very happy with the treatment I am receiving at his office. After two bad experiences with DC oral surgeons I decided to try a local doctor and am so glad I did. The total cost for the procedure is much less and rather than paying $1,700 out of pocket just to make an appointment like the first DC dentist demanded, I have only paid $150 out of pocket so far. Dr. Morgan's staff was willing and able to handle the co-ordination of benefits which nearly guarantees him full payment, I had the EOB before I left the office on the first consultation and was able to book an appointment later that week. Both of the DC oral surgeon's offices refused to coordinate benefits, which I believe is a requirement for being considered in-network with my two dental insurance carriers. Dr. Morgan was very kind and helped to ease my concerns about the implant procedure. It was relatively painless and I experienced no problems after the surgery. He was much more concerned about the after care plan than the other two dentist. I was given a dental rinse in addition to antibiotics and pain medications, I followed his instructions and all went as expected. I highly recommend Dr. Morgan for any oral surgery procedure and actually am looking forward to my next visit. read more

I had my 2 lower wisdom teeth taken out today by Dr Morgan. The whole process was painless and comfortable. I went under IV sedation and pretty much don't remember what happened. It felt like it was all done in 1 minute. Dr Morgan had to put my IV two times (pretty common for me though) because the first vein did not flush properly. However, both times I barely felt the needle. He was also very friendly the both times I had met with him, first for the the initial consult and then second for the actual extraction. The office staff are great too and I didn't have to wait much at all. It's been 12 hours now since my tooth extraction and I have no swelling and no pain. I was given 800mg Motrin which I bought the day before the surgery and Vicodin (which I have not needed/used) on the day of the surgery. I left the clinic this morning still a little groggy so I was not able to give proper thanks. So thank you Dr Morgan and staff! Tldr; pain free extractions, no swelling, Dr. Morgan is great at what he's doing so I highly recommend his practice. read more

Probably the best medical/dental-related experience I've ever had. I am writing this review only 6 hours after my wisdom teeth procedure (I had all 4 taken out). I came in for the consultation a few weeks back after receiving a referral from my dentist. Dr. Morgan examined my teeth and answered all of my questions/concerns and gave me recommendations for the actual extraction. One thing I really appreciated, was that I was never "scolded" for waiting so long to take action, which is something Doctors always seem to do in my experience...(I'm 25 now by the way, I know this is typically done for people at a younger age.) After that I went through the cost analysis with Jessica (I think thats her name.) She was very friendly and thoroughly explained each expense on the bill. I was also given all of my prescriptions to fill in advance at the pharmacy. Today I arrived bright and early and felt pretty nervous. I had never been sedated before and googling "Wisdom teeth experience" the night before was not a good idea. Dr. Morgan and his staff did an excellent job putting me at ease. They hooked me up to all of the machines, inserted the IV into my arm, and injected the drugs. That was the last thing I remember... A few hours later and I feel pretty good! I've been working with Dr. Morgan and his staff to have some extractions done for awhile. I say awhile because I had some unknown unrelated conditions that surfaced the first attempt. I appreciate Dr. Morgan's patience, clarity and chair side manners. Jessica has been there both times and is absolutely a delight too. Delight is not a word one typically uses when referring to extraction experiences. They are a well oiled machine there - they offer a level of care other healthcare facilities should strive to achieve. It is now the day after the extractions and I am feeling much better than I expected. I have been educated by Dr. Morgan and his staff exactly what to do if that changes and have been provided a packet of reminders to help out. No stars if I could. Saw this joker in January 2016 to have a wisdom tooth extracted. At the start, his assistant put in what's called a mouth prop to keep my mouth wide open. Other dentists will tell you it's the responsibility of either the dentist or their assistant to warn a patient not to relax and close one's mouth with the mouth prop still in. No one gave that warning. Result: Morgan extracts the wisdom tooth and walks away, I relax my mouth, and the mouth prop cracks an important molar (not a wisdom tooth). Saw him soon after when the source of my new pain was still not certain and he admitted such a thing could happen. After I established the prop-caused crack was in fact the source, Morgan refused to take responsibility. Soon after, a domino effect slowly unwound from both the crack and the unbalance it created, and the last few years I've gone through dental hell. read more

Dr. David Morgan is without a doubt amazing to say the least. I started I guess what I would call an "oral journey" a little over two years ago. To give you a little background. I needed braces, wisdom teeth pulled and oral surgery to correct my under bite that could not be fixed with braces. When I had my consultation with Dr. Morgan I had every intention to do multiple consultations with other surgeons. Jaw surgery is a major surgery so I wanted to make sure I that had the best. Once I met Dr. Morgan all intentions of other consults were out the window. I knew immediately after talking to Dr. Morgan that he was the right surgeon to reconstruct my bite. He was VERY honest, direct, caring, and confident! He was also willing to answer any of my questions even when I literally came prepared with a full list. He and his staff also have a great sense of humor which made me feel very comfortable. To start Dr. Morgan removed my wisdom teeth. This was minor compared to the jaw surgery that we planned to follow a year later. Dr. Morgan did a great job, which helped me feel a bit more at ease when thinking about my big day. Over the year Dr. Morgan and my orthodontist would communicate every now and then to make sure the straightening of my teeth would align up correctly with my new bite. Once they both felt comfortable with the way my teeth were lining up we started prepping for jaw surgery. Finally, the day of surgery came. Dr. Morgan brought a mold of what my bite would look like and answered any last minute questions my family and I had. Seven and a half hours later my surgery was complete! After the surgery I checked in with Dr. Morgan once a week so that he could make sure my bite was still aligned and that everything was healing the way it should. After about six weeks he told me that I didn't have to do anymore checkups as he and I were happy with the results. Dr. Morgan and his staff were super professional, and made me feel at home. Oddly, I was actually kind of sad when told I didn't have to schedule another check in. After such a journey they started to feel like family! Okay maybe just good friends LOL. It has now been a few months after my surgery and I can honestly say that I am thrilled with the way my bite has healed. FYI, this type of major surgery takes months to heal. Since the surgery I have found that I am much more confident because I love my new bite! My apologies for the long post, however, jaw surgery is a BIG deal! I hope this post could potentially help others when making a decision to have this surgery. Dr. David Morgan and his staff are amazing. I just got 4 wisdom teeth removed from Dr. Morgan. He is amazing! He is very thorough at consultation and tells you what to expect and how to prepare. The office tells you exactly what your out of pocket cost expense will be as well. My surgery went very smoothly with local anesthesia. I went home and had some complications such as dry socket. I was in a lot of pain on day 5 so my husband finally called the after hours number on a Saturday after Xmas. Dr. Morgan was kind enough to see us the same day after couple hours in his office.
