Smile Loft Dental at Hillandale - This is the picture of my crown that they would not assist me with fixing at a discounted price.

If you've ever wondered what it feels like to buy a used car while lying flat on your back under a bright light -- this might be your place. I was presented with "urgent" procedures on teeth that had never previously been an issue. The insurance estimate I was told to expect? Somehow that detail only came out after the drilling had already begun. The promised follow-up call with the quote never happened, but the paperwork appeared very promptly once the work was done. It's hard not to feel like the treatment plan was driven more by production goals than patient care. Longtime patients deserve communication, honesty, and conservative treatment recommendations -- not surprise invoices. Sadly, I'll be finding a practice that prioritizes teeth over revenue.

However, the new receptionist at the front is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a crown done less than a year ago and it literally broke in the middle of the crown leaving a whole in the middle. The new staff would not fix it or make any accommodations to assist me. They wanted me to pay full price. The office manager took the attitude of oh well there is nothing we can do. I will never go back. Do not use the Smile Loft in Hillandale, Spring. I actually found a new dentist and they were willing to give me a discount.

So yes, I HAVE to leave a review for this place. As a veteran who has experienced years of subpar healthcare and dental care, I am truly amazed by the exceptional service at Tomenko Dentistry. From the moment I walked in, the experience was top-notch. Raquel greeted me warmly and immediately put me at ease. She's incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything she was about to do. Any questions I had, she answered confidently and clearly (& I had lots of questions ) She's already one of my favorites! During my cleaning, I had the pleasure of being cared for by the hygienist with beautiful white hair and an accent (I wish I remembered her name). She was so thorough and clearly passionate about her work, making the experience both effective and pleasant. Dr. Tomenko herself is nothing short of a genius. She discovered a fractured tooth that no one else had been able to detect. She approached the situation with careful precision, taking conservative measures to ensure I avoided unnecessary pain or procedures. She took her time with me, which is something many providers don't do, and made me feel valued and cared for. During my crown procedure she made sure I wasn't in any pain. It took a couple extra shots and more time for me to be numb and pain free. She takes pain seriously and makes it a priority for her patients not to be in any pain if she can avoid it! The office is pristine (a huge priority for me), and the staff is incredibly organized with excellent communication. It's clear the entire team takes pride in their work. I'll never leave this place! Even though I initially considered switching due to their weekday-only schedule, I've realized this practice is worth taking PTO for. Your teeth are important, and Tomenko Dentistry is the kind of place where you can trust that your care is in the best hands. I've even overheard other patients laughing and expressing gratitude during their visits, which speaks volumes about the positive atmosphere here. This place is a gem. Don't settle for less--choose your dentist wisely!

The staff is nice, and courteous, the facilities are clean, and there has not been any major errors (Thank God)! But, One time I was told I had a cavity, so I was asked to make a follow up appointment, there were no appointments available but 2 weeks ahead and during a week day. Coordinated with work to get there, when I got to Stellar Dental the Dentist said I did not have a cavity so I shouldn't to be seen. (I'm not a dentist but that was weird) Another time, I arrived to my appointment to find out that Stellar Dental was no longer in the same location, there were no signs, I was not notified, nothing. I called them, it was hard to get a hold of someone other than the machines. Eventually, another staff from another office in the same building saw me, and told me Stellar Dental had moved. Once I was told they would send me an email for a referral and I had to call 3 times and ask them for the referral before I finally got it. Overall, that took about 45 days. Very Important! Stellar Dental sends appointment confirmation texts and emails. The confirmation text message says: "reply YES to confirm your appointment, and the email says click here to confirm your appointment" so you reply and click thinking your appointment is good to go. Nope! You have to reply to the text, reply to the email, and call them back when they call to confirm, or your appointment will be given to someone else. Stellar Waiting time varies from 15 minutes in from your appointment to an hour before you are even seen, so keep that in mind when planning the time you will spend there. Even if you arrive 10 minutes ahead of time and it is just a cleaning. I have seen Dr. Gotora once and it was a positive experience.

I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office due to misleading billing practices…read moreand lack of professionalism. At my first visit, the office took my insurance card, my referral from my primary dentist, made a copy of both Dental and Driver license, yet I was never informed that they do not accept DMO insurance. This information should have been clearly disclosed upfront. Instead, I was later billed an extremely excessive and unexpected amount, which feels deceptive and unethical. I was also charged two separate bills for a "deep cleaning", spread across two different days. In the amount of $839.00 for a cleaning. I have never experienced a deep cleaning requiring two appointments, nor was this explained or justified to me in advance. When I questioned the process, the doctor who attended to me was very angry with me and said, "And so If you are bleeding" This approach appears to be an intentional way to increase charges rather than provide standard care. Overall, the office demonstrated a serious lack of transparency, communication, and professionalism. Patients deserve to be fully informed about insurance acceptance and costs before services are rendered. I would strongly advise others to ask very detailed questions and get everything in writing before proceeding with treatment at this office. The ironing part of this ordeal is that this dentist submitted a claim to my insurance company What is more concerning, the office knowingly submitted my claim as a PPO instead of a DMO, despite having my correct insurance information. This resulted in me being billed an outrageous out-of-pocket amount, far beyond what I should have been responsible for. Submitting an incorrect plan type while still billing the patient is unacceptable and unethical. In addition, I was charged two separate bills for a "deep cleaning," spread over two days, without proper explanation or prior consent. I have never experienced a deep cleaning requiring multiple days, and this appeared to be another tactic to inflate charges. Overall, this office demonstrated a lack of transparency, professionalism, and ethical billing standards. Patients should be extremely cautious, verify insurance acceptance in writing, and request detailed cost breakdowns before allowing any treatment. Furthermore, I called the Dr. Soolari office about claims they submitted to my dental insurance company. The receptionist told me they only submitted 1 claim, that is a lie. The office submitted a total of 3 bills to my insurance. I mentioned to her that additional 2 claims were submitted and that I have copies of the claims. And I asked her why the office didn't submit the referral that I gave them on my first visit. She said they have it and that they will submit it. This is a practice of deceit and lack of transparency. A total of 3 claims has now been submitted to my dental insurance and yet I was still charged for a total amount of $2,364.50. Dental implant that doesn't fix and sit properly in mouth I was told it's a temporary, after paying over $1,500.00 (One thousand five hundred dollars).
