Mike came for the first round to work with our contractor to discuss the needs of the new kitchen, including GFI updates, kitchen island outlets and pendants, new LED recessed overhead lights, and under cabinet lighting and floor heating. They also made recommendations based on new codes coming into play over the next couple of years so that we would be compliant. That kind of attention to detail was most welcome. John, the Master Electrician who came to the house later, easily guided two young apprentices over 2 days of full-on work. John was amazing, listening to my questions, assisting me in last minute decisions, and making certain the customer was happy. John was very insistent in making sure we were happy and pleased with their work. His knowledge and background was priceless while I worked through the list of my wants and needs, he was very patient too, as I asked endless questions. They put in long days and protected our home while working cleanly and efficiently. It is rare to find such superior expertise these days, and I am grateful that Daigle Electric is willing to bring on young people into the trade and teach them properly.

I highly recommend Daigle Electric for professional and top-notch electrical service needs. We…read morecalled Mike who promptly provided a quote. His team, led by John, returned a few weeks later to provide the service. We had outdoor lighting, a transfer switch and a tv electrical box installed. They were so professional and fixed recent work done by a different supplier. It's so challenging to find someone to trust but now we did. Thanks!!

I had a bucket list of items that I needed help with. I got ridiculous quotes from other electricians, $2200, $2600, $2500. Marty came by, looked at the job and had decided the best course of action what to just do Time and Materials at his hourly rate. It saved him from underestimating/overestimating and I could manage the costs fairly. Items completed: 1. Deck Post light caps: Caseta switch installation. Also diagnosing some incorrect connections (I had made incorrect connections previously). Wiring an incomplete LV wiring run to complete a 'missing' section of lights. 2. Under deck puck lights: 15 Amp box and 2nd Caseta switch installation powering puck lights 3. Troubleshooting Magnitude MLV Transformer (found bad caseta switch and worked with Lutron support to diagnose and get replacement) 4. Installed heat tape on troublesome (ice/snow) roof section I got everything done for roughly $600.00. (I bought all the materials in advance ~$100 worth and did some "brain dead" stuff myself (like running 14/2 UF wire through existing conduit). In any event, I was thrilled with T&M as was he. I believed I saved roughly $1500 by spending an hour or two myself and having Marty come in for the rest. I think I found my new 'go to' electrician in my area. Fair, honest and hard working.

We were tight on cash and he took the time to set up the quote/ project in phases. I loved the long term plan* with EVERYTHING priced down to the penny, NO SURPRISES! Now how refreshing is that? It's been about a year since he finished "phase one" and we've gone all out ADHD on our home improvement projects, but when we finally make it back to finishing our smaller electrical projects, Marty's our man! *disclaimer: OBVIOUSLY prices will change as time passes! I will fully expect Marty to re-calculate the bottom line as we move through our future projects. THE POINT IS, you'll know upfront!

If you're considering using Paul to install mini-splits, I hope you'll read this review first…read more Installing a new HVAC system is a big investment and here's why I cannot recommend Paul Mesmer. While Paul's pricing was competitive, incorrect planning ended up costing us much more than we planned for. It's been a year and a half since the install of our HVAC system and it still isn't functioning properly. Paul has been avoiding our calls and is unfortunately not taking responsibility for our system not working correctly. We've been very patient with Paul but unfortunately he just won't take ownership for getting our system to run the right way. He has sporadically stopped by to "check an few things" but never fixes the issues. At this point, we will most likely have to install additional equipment to make up for inadequate planning. Here are a few things that were very disappointing with our mini-split install... - During hot days, our AC unit will not keep our house cool. We have thermostats that record the temperatures in the house and on hot days, our second floor ducted mini split can't maintain a temperature lower than eighty degrees. It isn't able to cool down to the set temp of seventy-two degrees usually until 6am the next morning. Online I found some helpful calculators that indicated the second floor unit Paul installed is far too small for the square footage it needs to cool. This was also recently corroborated by a HVAC professional (Paul is an electrician, not a licensed HVAC contractor). The unit cooling our second floor needs to be about as twice as big as the one Paul installed. When I gently mentioned to Paul that our upstairs was 800 square feet and that the unit might be too small, his response that "it's not 800 square feet." A tape measure and some basic math says otherwise. Paul then let us know that a BTU sizing calculator (which he's never been able to show us,) says that what he installed should be sufficient. When I asked him why the unit wasn't keeping the upstairs cool, Paul stopped responding to me. The irony is that the larger properly sized unit isn't much more expensive than the undersized unit. Paul simply didn't plan this correctly and won't help making things right. - Paul didn't correctly plan for the placement of the return vent and used a closet ceiling for this instead. Since there's only a small gap of the bottom of the door for airflow I asked if this would be enough for the unit (which requires a lot of airflow). Paul indicated that this wouldn't be a problem... but it was. This caused very erratic temperature swings. We had to spend $500 to install a louvered door to increase the flow to the return which fixed the temperature swings. - Paul relied on the Thermostat in the mini-split unit in the attic to monitor the temperature. This caused additional wild temperature swings. At the same set temperature our house would fluctuate ten degrees in temperature being far too cold during the day, and way too hot at night. Paul told me that this was normal. Does that sound normal? He then offered to fix this along but this came with a new estimate for over a thousand dollars to do so. I had to spend about a half day installing a properly placed thermostat that now controls the temperature very well. - During the installation, Paul's crew damaged a few pieces of furniture and drywall in the house. We also noticed cigarette butts in the attic after the install. With cellulose insulation, this could have been a disaster. In summary, working with Paul hasn't been a very good experience and we unfortunately can't recommend him. What I would recommend for anyone considering a new HVAC mini-split system is to get several quotations reputable certified HVAC companies. Paul was cheaper than these companies but as a colleague of mine once told me, "cheap is expensive."
