Daigle Electric - Kitchen remodel

Daigle Electric

This is a follow-up to our previous review, post renovation. Daigle Electric returned to our house…read moreto do massive amounts of electrical work for our kitchen renovation. Mike came for the first round to work with our contractor to discuss the needs of the new kitchen, including GFI updates, kitchen island outlets and pendants, new LED recessed overhead lights, and under cabinet lighting and floor heating. They also made recommendations based on new codes coming into play over the next couple of years so that we would be compliant. That kind of attention to detail was most welcome. John, the Master Electrician who came to the house later, easily guided two young apprentices over 2 days of full-on work. John was amazing, listening to my questions, assisting me in last minute decisions, and making certain the customer was happy. John was very insistent in making sure we were happy and pleased with their work. His knowledge and background was priceless while I worked through the list of my wants and needs, he was very patient too, as I asked endless questions. They put in long days and protected our home while working cleanly and efficiently. It is rare to find such superior expertise these days, and I am grateful that Daigle Electric is willing to bring on young people into the trade and teach them properly.

I highly recommend Daigle Electric for professional and top-notch electrical service needs. We…read morecalled Mike who promptly provided a quote. His team, led by John, returned a few weeks later to provide the service. We had outdoor lighting, a transfer switch and a tv electrical box installed. They were so professional and fixed recent work done by a different supplier. It's so challenging to find someone to trust but now we did. Thanks!!

Finally, an electrician that doesn't play games. One person operation with full accountability and…read morea 'let's get it done' attitude. Good communication either through email, text or phone. I had a bucket list of items that I needed help with. I got ridiculous quotes from other electricians, $2200, $2600, $2500. Marty came by, looked at the job and had decided the best course of action what to just do Time and Materials at his hourly rate. It saved him from underestimating/overestimating and I could manage the costs fairly. Items completed: 1. Deck Post light caps: Caseta switch installation. Also diagnosing some incorrect connections (I had made incorrect connections previously). Wiring an incomplete LV wiring run to complete a 'missing' section of lights. 2. Under deck puck lights: 15 Amp box and 2nd Caseta switch installation powering puck lights 3. Troubleshooting Magnitude MLV Transformer (found bad caseta switch and worked with Lutron support to diagnose and get replacement) 4. Installed heat tape on troublesome (ice/snow) roof section I got everything done for roughly $600.00. (I bought all the materials in advance ~$100 worth and did some "brain dead" stuff myself (like running 14/2 UF wire through existing conduit). In any event, I was thrilled with T&M as was he. I believed I saved roughly $1500 by spending an hour or two myself and having Marty come in for the rest. I think I found my new 'go to' electrician in my area. Fair, honest and hard working.

Linscott Electric - Heat pump/mini split condenser

My electrician has just retired and I needed one to do the electrical for a mini-split condenser. I…read morewas given Andrew's name by my HVAC contractor. Andrew answered the phone -- literally! I didn't even have to leave a message and wait for a call back! (The other guy I called never even returned my call.) He was willing to come within a couple of days to check out the job and provide an estimate -- he was there the next day. He was extremely responsive via text regarding the permit and when he would be coming. He was on the dot on time. He was also polite and respectful with asking for my preference about him wearing a mask. On his way out, it occurred to me to ask him a question about a concern I had about an old outlet. He came back in to check it out and was willing to replace it right then, and taught me how to know when one should be replaced. I found two others in the house while he did that one and he was willing to replace those, too, in spite of having another job scheduled after mine. I expected to have to pay him extra for that work, but when I got the invoice, he didn't charge me extra because apparently the big job he came for didn't take quite as long as he'd expected. I was super impressed by his honesty and his work ethic. Andrew's officially my new electrician!

Andrew has won a client for life.
