The guitar tech at other shop kept trying to fix the electronics in my guitar, It kept failing. 3 different times I brought it into the other shop, and each time the tech there said it was something different. So after the 4th time, something went wrong with the electronics, and $150 later, I decided to find another shop. Enter Centerstage Music. I met Greg. he was friendly and helpful. He took the guitar apart right in front of me and said let check out the wiring, it might not need anything(He was trying to save me money on electronics, instead of trying to sell them me). I stopped him and explained after getting the run around from the other guy I just wanted to replace the electronics just so I didn't have to worry about them, plus it was an upgrade. He understood. In less than 18 hours he texted me it was ready to pick up. It was priced more than fair. He had me plug into one of the many cabinets that he had available and made sure I was happy with the voicing of the pickups. Let me tell you this thing sounds amazing. Not only are will they work on your gear, but they are mainly a rehearsal space and recording studio. I'm, not the typical guy who writes reviews ever(I wouldn't waste my time writing a negative one about the last place), I don't why, I just felt the need to write this one. The only thing I bought him was a Fender hat which he liked and he'll grow into, maybe he'll go through a little punk rock stage or something when he's older. My son had a great time looking at the guitars, basses, drums, and acoustic instruments. I fell in love with an olive green bass but I'm still trying to learn the pink one that was given to me as a gift before I buy a second bass and right now I'm storing my stuff in my son's room until I can afford a place of my own so there's no room for a second bass. This store does seem a little bit more disorganized than other guitar centers I've been to but not entirely bad. He started at a 3/4 size but it was slightly too big after a month or so on playing on it, and they easily switched us to a 1/2 size. Awesome! Everyone who works here is beyond friendly and helpful. Recently, my son accidentally broke the bridge on his cello. I called, thinking this was going to cost $$$ but it was covered under our rental agreement! Whew! Luckily my son wasn't going to forgo some allowance to chip in on this. I dropped it off mid-morning and it was ready the next day. I brought in the broken bridge and the guy working there (I forget his name!) custom made a brand new one. If you want friendly and reasonably priced rentals, this is the place to go. They also have lots of instruments for sale - string, keyboards, guitars, ukes - anything you need! And you won't find nicer people anywhere, of that I'm sure.
