My son played violin wonderfully with Paul effman! They went to his grammar school for years but good old covid came and they can no longer come back to his school due to " breath " " covid risk" and their enrollment was too low to return. I paid nick privately for a few months in 2020 but my son was ready to return in person. Id recommend this school, but I hate how they let go of nick. They told me before even tellimg him! I enjoyed his style, as I watched some instructors having children play for concerts and all of them were flat. Id focus on physical energy. If that is there, then no 9ne will notice the quality of the tunes. I know as a ballerina of many years and strong, that faking it will always cover up a mistake or subpar performance. read more

These guys are amazing. I am an adult beginner in saxophone and I bought a Yamaha from them. They were helpful, responsive, gave guidance on things I would need to get started, recommended places for lessons near where I lived, threw stuff in (for free) that I would need but didn't ask for -- excellent place to do business.. I would leave zero stars if i can. I called to ask for a rental and a specific instrument and they told me they had it. After driving 30mins, they told me they didn't have it and that it cost $190 to rent for a year which was not what I was told on the phone. I was told I can rent monthly. Total scam and lies! I hope this review helps others to not get scammed! I also feel sorry for the kid that had to tell the lies becuase he worked there. If you see this friend, find a new job. Went on a Friday to get my daughter's clarinet serviced, asked if they had a rental for my daughter's lessons on Sunday. After explaining the issue, Mr. Effman took it to the back, brought out his dog, Flip who proceeded to roll on top of my feet for belly rubs. After a few mins, brought the clarinet back good to go, no need for a rental. And he didn't even charge me! "Because you pet my dog" was his reasoning. Good shop. If you're a parent with a child who wants to study music, Effman Music should be your first stop. They have their own excellent line of affordable student instruments, but even more important, they offer customer service that's caring and personal in a way that I just don't see anymore. We inherited one of their older model L.J. Hutchen brand clarinets, and my son had some trouble adjusting to it. I called the shop, and Jesse talked me through the issue, asked me to send some pictures, then got back to me and suggested I send it in for an adjustment. The warranty expired years ago, but they only charged me for shipping and gave the horn a complete going over, including some modifications to make it easier for his particular hands. They really want students to be satisfied and successful playing music, and they stand behind everything they sell. Fantastic people! read more
