I would like to first start my review by apologizing to my wife for not doing this sooner. My emotional reaction due to this place has blinded my ability to write an appropriate response that wouldn't be taken down. It has been a while, however the pain and my now distorted perception of doctors will always be with me. My wife and I had been trying to get pregnant on our own and were not having any luck. After she and I discussed our options we decided we would go to Diaz. After checking some of my wife's levels, Diaz decided he wanted to preform a procedure to check my wife's fallopian tubes. Myself being new to the infertility world, I didn't know fully what that meant, Diaz showed us a picture of what open fallopian tubes should look like with someone else's HSG image. We scheduled the procedure thinking that we were getting the HSG because of the picture shown to us. Later we found out that he was really performing an SIS, which imagery is completely different. After the procedure, I was invited back into the office, and Diaz bluntly stated that my wife's fallopian tubes were blocked. We. Were. Devastated. I asked Diaz to see the results of the testing/procedure he had just completed. Instead of showing us the recently taken images, he showed us the same HSG image from before and said that both tubes on my wife were blocked. He never showed us the actual images of my wife's tubes; he only continued to say they were blocked and showed us the same HSG image (which wasn't even an SIS image, which is what he ACTUAL did). The news of having blocked tubes was crippling to my wife. She continued to beat herself up and blame herself and going down the rabbit hole as to WHY her tubes were blocked. This anguish didn't deter her or our desire to continue in trying to have a child. And so after talking with Diaz (and sadly listening to Diaz) we went forward with the IVF process. We invested in the medicine and started twice a day in her abdomen. When her follicles didn't grow at the speed Diaz wanted, he doubled her medicine. Twice her dosage was increased while only checking follicle size, and nothing else. The office would not regularly check her numbers, and days went by. No additional blood tests or panels were taken. After waiting DAYS for an appointment, she went in and had her numbers checked (finally) and it was shown that she had already ovulated. That round was over and we were out thousands of dollars. All because they didn't schedule her and Diaz didn't check numbers throughout the medication process. Again... We. Were. Devastated. We decided we wouldn't go back to Diaz for any more infertility issues. His neglect of care and passive attention to patient care was very apparent and we were done with him. At this point we didn't fully understand all the damage he had caused, but we knew we were not treated well during the IVF process. After finding a new doctor and discussing our previous experience with infertility, they recommended doing an actual HSG test. We agreed, since we had only had the SIS test with Diaz. After my wife had the HSG test, I was able to go in and personally see... her tubes were open. The doctor had the image up on the computer, and showed my wife's name next to the image and said, her fallopian tubes are open and fine. This was amazing news in the moment, but it turned bitter sweet when we realized, Diaz specifically told us that her tubes were blocked. As soon as we left that doctor's office, we called Diaz to explain to him the news of NOT having blocked tubes. He was emotionless, he stated that his records said that the tests he did in his office were "inconclusive". We reminded him of when we were sitting in his office and crying as he repeatedly said "her tubes are blocked". We reminded him that he was the one who said because of her blocked tubes, we should move forward with IVF. He continued to avoid any direct responsibility. He offered free rounds of IUI's and to take the bills away that his office continued to charge, but he never accepted the devastating toll his neglect brought on. We declined his offer of doing IUI's. With zero trust in him and his staff, there was no reason to ever go to his office again. Thousands of dollars paid to unnecessary medicine and treatment. To additionally prove his worthlessness, when our new doctor received the patient records from Diaz, "inconclusive" was written in a different color ink compared to the rest of the notes. It looked as though Diaz had gone back after our phone call with him and written "inconclusive" multiple times to cover up his prior statement of her tubes being blocked. Our new doctor was able to help us get pregnant with zero IVF medication. We were seen regularly so that ovulation could be tracked. If you only take one thing out of my review, please have it be this: Avoid Diaz and his office at all costs. Go to literally anyone else. read more

Update: Went back for FET #2 and I'm currently 11w3d pregnant from another successful procedure. This facility is amazing. I love the staff. They are so kind, thoughtful and genuine. This Yelp is beyond overdue, however, I honestly couldn't bring myself to find this page and write a review before today. My entire ordeal with this office is one of nightmares. I am going to try to keep this brief, so that it gets read and not skimmed. I was seen as a new patient here and my results came back that I had a low AMH count. More tests were performed, one of which was a SIS, which I was told was an HSG. The test was beyond painful, so it was stopped and concluded that I had blocked fallopian tubes. Both of them. I got dressed, while in an immense amount of pain and my husband and I sat down to talk to Dr Diaz and his office manager about options. We were told both tubes were closed and that IVF was the recommended treatment. My husband asked to see my results and instead we were shown other images of other tubes that were closed. I asked the doctor, "Based on my results, if I were your daughter, what would you do?" He said IVF. Over the weekend I was Googling the heck out of blocked Fallopian tubes and found that a major reason for blocked tubes are untreated STD's. I was mortified and angry with myself. I beat myself up all weekend and cried and cried. I called the doctor for clarity on a Monday and he said, "oh no, sometimes these things just happen." He was very sweet at this point. I felt reassured that my past hadn't ruined my future, but I was still extremely upset. I was reassured that IVF was the only option and we hung up. I started my round of extremely costly medication, shot myself in the stomach 2 times a day and visited them every other day for blood panels and ultrasounds to see how things were shaping up. When my numbers and follicle size wasn't increasing, Dr Diaz jacked up my medication to astronomical heights. Once when I went in I let the team know I was lightheaded and sure enough, my blood pressure was through the roof. Not one person cared and they jacked my meds up again. I was not given a follow up appointment for THREE DAYS and when I came in on the FOURTH DAY, my numbers had dropped significantly and thus we had to cancel the round of $6000 worth of medication. The reason for the drop? My estrogen had dropped because I had ALREADY OVULATED AND THEY MISSED IT. Fast forward to two months later. I had the courage to try again and visited another doctor in the same area who is AMAZING. She requested my chart notes from dr Diaz's office and received a measly 5 pages of information. One of which stated, (and I can barely write this it hurts so bad to have been this deceived by a doctor) that my test results were "inconclusive" and I should have an HSG. It should be noted that HSG is not offered in their office. So either someone missed referring me out for a second test, or Dr Diaz plain saw dollar signs between my PPO insurance that had some fertility coverage and the expensive purse that I carry. This new doctor tested me the next day by doing an HSG in her office and lo and behold, BOTH tubes were open. My mom and my husband were both waiting outside for the news and everyone cried when they saw the screen. My utter joy came crashing down when the realization of what happened at Dr Diaz's office hit me like a ton of bricks. We sat in the parking lot, called Dr Diaz's office and asked to speak with him. He answered and I let him know what happened. He has OBVIOUSLY been through similar patient complaints in the past because his poker face could be both felt and heard through the phone. I sobbed and asked how he could do this. My husband wanted to be refunded for some of the costs we incurred by their gross misconduct, to which Dr Diaz replied, "how about you come and try IUI here at no cost." To me, this was him admitting fault. And why on God's green Earth would I ever want to step foot in to his office again?? My husband then pressed the issue of a refund after we were still receiving bills from THEIR office to which he replied, "well, what if I make our bills go away?" And with that, boys and girls, the bills went away... To add insult to injury, about a month later we received a dismissal from his practice, signed personally by him. On a happy note, that same month we found out we were pregnant, after only our SECOND attempt at an IUI at the new doctor's office. The moral of this story is simple: Don't ever step foot in this office, and ALWAYS follow insurance protocol of trying IUI rounds BEFORE jumping to IVF...especially if it is forced upon you by a lying, deceitful doctor with a God complex and an incompetent staff. read more

I am 35 years old and my husband is 33 years old when we decided to pursue medical help after "trying" for 2.5 years. And as of now I am on my 20th week of pregnancy through IVF. We found Dr. Diaz through Yelp recommendations. After reading on 3 other infertility doctors in the OC area, we decided to go with Dr Diaz based off of the results and service as reported by other reviews. Our first impressions of Dr Diaz was a good one. He was polite and made me feel very comfortable. Not only did we trust him with all his experience but he was willing to educate and explain everything prior to doing anything. He gave us all the options and explained each different procedure as well as the anatomy and physiology and how each procedure affects it. We never felt rushed and he let us come up with our own decision after fully educating us. We eventually decided on proceeding with IVF. The office staff: Maria, Norma, Beth, Cindy, Mike, and Miha were always inviting and caring. We felt that they were passionate about the roles they each played toward their patients. Everything occurred step by step at a reasonable pace, we never felt overwhelmed with the whole process. Even when there was a hiccup preceding implantation when we found out that I had endometriosis and underwent minor surgery to remove it we were never overwhelmed. Dr Diaz and his team were always a phone call away and always willing to help us when we needed it. I am grateful for their support. It also helps if your husband is also always available and present at every step of the way like mine. If you're willing to work with people with great attitudes and can get things done, this is the place for you. P.S. One extra tip is to make sure you know what your insurance covers so that you know what to expect, (even though the staff will guide you through it as well prior to performing any procedures). Dr. Diaz is a pioneer in this profession and he has a wealth of knowledge. August 2019 our baby girl Meadow was born. She was healthy and beautiful. I love Dr Diaz, Beth, Cindy, Denise, MAria, Norma was front office she left so Malkia took over. I love how detailed explanations of each visit how much the embryo was growing and how it is growing in such a easy way to comprehend. I found out I have rolling veins, Norma, Beth and Cindy were able to get blood drawn while other offices couldn't get my blood. They have such sweet, calm vibes that I love and wish I could take them with me to all dr appointment to show others how it's done correctly. We have been trying to conceive for 4 years. We have been to 3 different doctors with no luck until we met Dr. Diaz. Happy to say I am officially 3 months pregnant!! Dr. Diaz is extremely thorough, he asks for all your previous medical records and will sit down with you and go through all your options. He is very diligent and gives a step by step as he goes through each procedure. His staff is absolutely fantastic, every single one of them. I really felt "taken care of" from my initial consultation to my last celebratory ultrasound. Mike, the financial officer, gave us a break down of all expenses I would incur (this helped us financially plan for the year) Beth was my right hand and kept me updated on all test results and was always available (day or night) when something unexpected came up. I have been working with Dr. Diaz and his office since 2007. I have been very pleased with the care, patience, and attention I received. In 2007 I had some of my eggs frozen there and when I couldn't afford the extra dosage of medicine I needed, they found donors for me for it. When I screwed up the protocol on my own by injecting the wrong medicine before my retrieval, their thorough protocol caught it, saving me from having wasted my money and my round of eggs. I was very dismayed later when I met with doctors on the East Coast in 2010 (after moving there) who termed egg freezing far out or avantguard. I had called West Coast Fertility's clinic in a panic at that time and they talked me through it all.... they have been superior in terms of service and working with me. I have stayed with them now long enough for their technology to catch up and for five more of my eggs to be matured in their labs. This was my Christmas gift of news last year. I have also stayed with them long enough for the practice of egg freezing to have gotten removed from the experimental list as a medical procedure. After three very early term miscarriages in the last year trying to have a baby on our own, I am now ready to try using the frozen eggs. I was very grateful when I learned that the mock trial they did with me earlier this year is not something all fertility doctors do. In my case, it revealed a protein problem, which we are now trying to fix with a new protocol for a mock trial. Without these mock trials, I would have wasted my two chances for pregnancy with my own eggs. They have been very easy to work with as I have to work with them remotely. I have been nothing if not pleased. I am very sorry for the women's experience above in the other review, but felt I must counter it with my superior experience with them. read more

A friend of mine suggested the WCFC. He and his wife had two successful IVF procedures and encouraged me and my husband to give them a call. It was the best call we've ever made. He is a good doctor however he has too many patients. His staff is sometimes polite and sometimes not. They are definitely not shy in asking for payment however there are more polite ways of asking for payment. Also, the wait time is 30 - 60 minutes. If you have 30 min + to wait and wait and wait then he is your doctor. It is rediculous to late patience wait for a long time. Apologizing for patience for waiting is not good enough. read more

I love this office. I did a lot of research before choosing where I wanted to freeze my eggs and I'm glad I spent all that time comparing doctors because it really paid off. I'm not someone who thinks doctors who appear on TV have credibility. I know it just means they have a good publicist or are photogenic and not that they are a good doctor. I can honestly say that Dr. Diaz is an amazing doctor. He has been doing this for a very long time. He became fascinated with fertility during his training at Harvard in the early 80's and I can tell by speaking with him that he reads up constantly in this field and stays on the cutting edge. Unlike other doctors who don't take the time to explain what is going on, he loves talking about it. He definitely did not jump on the fertility bandwagon because it's a growing industry. In fact he told me that another doctor asked him to join her in giving a presentation to potential clients because she keeps getting questions about the science behind it that she can't answer. Are you kidding me? She's performing these procedures but needs him to explain the science behind it? I'll take the doctor who understands the why he's doing things the way he's doing them. I have done two egg freezing cycles with Dr. Diaz and am about to do my third. This office began freezing eggs long before other fertility offices and has a lot of experience with it. If you compare the success rates of live births from frozen eggs between this office and other offices, you will be astonished. Everyone in the office is friendly but more importantly, meticulous, organized, knowledgeable, on schedule and easy to get a hold of. It doesn't feel like they are herding people in and out. They know my name, remember my medical situation and have never made a mistake. Another thing, they really about their patient's outcomes and take joy in successes. I was not there to get pregnant myself but I've been there when the whole office was on cloud nine because of news of a successful birth. They're very solid people and it's increasingly difficult to find that in and era where medical professionals are becoming detached. These procedures are ordeals and a bit scary so I'm glad I have a doctor I trust. read more

Staff is absolutely amazing. Especially Beth. She truly cares about you. I unfortunately was mislead and they wasted 5 weeks of my time. I mentioned my weight (I'm overweight) at the consult and he said I was fine. My weight was never brought up again besides the 2 minutes I brought it up and asked if it was going to be an issue. I was scheduled for a hysteroscopy, with anesthesia. I had an ongoing cough for a couple weeks that was still lingering the day of my procedure. When they administered the anesthesia they said I started coughing and was struggling to breath...due to my weight, so the procedure stopped immediately. I left the procedure extremely confused and distraught. 3 days went by, still had not heard from anyone on what exactly happened. I called and asked to speak to dr Diaz 2x and they kept saying they will call me back. I felt as if they were avoiding me. I finally here from Beth and she concluded dr. Diaz wouldn't work on me until I lose 40 pounds because now all of the sudden there is a BMI cut off. (Which was never brought up ONCE). I coughed under anesthesia because I WAS SICK. Also, I had no idea I was supposed to disclose I was sick....and what's even stranger is dr. Diaz heard me coughing in pre-op and asked how long I had the cough. He didn't even seem phased. Flash forward now and I've been under anesthesia twice with my current fertility doctor with absolutely Zero issues. I wasn't going to write a review, because I really loved the office staff. But I felt compelled because I really feel in my heart that Dr. Diaz mislead me and was not honest from the start. He also didn't have the dignity to call me himself and explain to me that my weight most certainly was an issue. I don't know about you, but I want a doctor who cares about me and is willing to take the 5 minutes out of his day to call me and explain to me why he is not willing to proceed on such a delicate situation. read more
