They also have the worst admin services with the owner only interested in money, they held on to 3 months of tuition and refused to refund anything after telling me they can't keep my kid on their program. When you try to engage with the owner, she goes mute after payment. They do have some nice staff but their leadership, starting from the owner, is woeful, prioritizing money over everything else and summer program is very lame to say the least. I would avoid as much as possible if you want good value for your money. The school is absolutely becoming a shadow of its old self

We recently left the Childhood Center after 6 wonderful years because both of my children aged out…read moreand moved on to kindergarten. The school was always such a happy place for my kids and they loved going. It's a smaller school so the teacher/staff are all involved in every classroom and know every kid by name. There is very low turnover on the staff so your children don't have to adjust to new teachers often. TCC uses an app and updates multiple times a day with pictures/activities, that was one of the hardest parts about moving on is not getting those updates every day. TCC also keeps things fun and stimulating for the children with theme weeks, extracurricular activities (Tippi Toes, Soccer Tots, Jolley Trolley), art, daily spanish class, and occasional music. If the weather is nice they try to give your kids extra outside time and in the summer do fun things like splash day/foam party/snoballs. The preschool program in particular is very impressive as far as learning and curriculum and my kids were more than prepared for grade school. They also have the choice of healthy/balanced lunches and snacks so it is one less thing for parents to worry about. The other families are wonderful as well and there is a great community. Parents are often invited to events for things like Halloween, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Christmas, and several others. The gifts they send for Christmas and Mothers and Fathers day that your child made are priceless and I treasure them so much. They have flexible part time options if you are looking for that. I can't recommend this school enough.

From day one, she was treated with a unique love combined with the structure that all children crave. They are incredible at including parents in the day-to-day life of their kids at school. After attending other schools, I can say that TCC excels at: -Offering outside activities during the school day (music, dance, soccer, etc.) -Parent communication - a detailed monthly newsletter of curriculum, menu, and celebrations -Consistent updates on your child with numerous photos a day -Balancing love and discipline (my child is SO well behaved at school thanks to them!) -A focus on health for students -Involved staff -Most importantly, my child was happy every day and never wanted to leave school We already miss TCC so much and wish we never had to leave. This school is a gem.

Joseph Okafor/ Chandra Reed…read more In early January, my 7-year-old daughter informed us that she was assaulted by her physical education teacher. We initially became aware of a potential issue when we noticed a decline in her grades in that class. Concerned, my fiancée and I had a conversation with her to understand what was happening. She explained that the teacher had been forcefully pressing his thumb against her neck and ears during class when students did not follow his instructions as he wanted. Additionally, she stated that he would prohibit students from getting water. When I asked if this had happened to other children, she confirmed that it had. I reassured her, thanked her for her honesty, and comforted her for sharing her experience. The following morning, my fiancée and I scheduled a meeting with the school principal. We also encouraged our daughter to inform us immediately if anything else happened in the future. Despite the distressing nature of the incident, she had been eagerly anticipating the school's 100th-day celebration and had been planning to wear a special dress. Even though she shared this information with us two weeks after the event, I respected her decision to maintain her normal routine and allowed her to participate in the celebration before making any changes to her schedule. I promptly filed a report with the Houston school police but have yet to receive any follow-up from them. The next day, we went to the school and attended a meeting with the principal. As we entered the conference room, we noticed the coach leaving. During our discussion, the principal acknowledged that she had been informed of the incident by the school police officer. She expressed concern, noting that she also has children enrolled at the school, and assured us that she would conduct an investigation, including reviewing security footage. Weeks later, after recovering from the flu, I followed up with the principal regarding the matter. She apologized for what had happened and informed me that their investigation confirmed the teacher had indeed assaulted multiple students. He eventually admitted to his actions, despite initially denying them. When I questioned whether she had reviewed the security footage, she confirmed that she had and reiterated that the teacher had confess Update he was charged!

I think they said there were 50-60 openings in each of those grades. I did query the one brunette lady from admissions to make sure before applying. When I also briefly explained my child's credentials, she was euthusastic and said you are just what we are seeking. Like you, we were not accepted. Not even waitlisted. I spoke with a half dozen parents that I also know that applied. Same thing. All of serious students. Involved in the community. I don't know about all the seats going to legacies but I only know 2 people in the past that got accepted and both were legacies. What a shame if they are really advertising 60 open seats when they all just go to legacy accept a few. I know they deceived me. I would never apply to St. John's again. Waste of my time.
