Apparently the extra x-rays were for my insurance. I really like Dr. Maxfield and the staff. I thought it took longer with my tiny cavity than when I'd had a root canal. They did have to go through my crown and take it off, order a new one. Today I was early and had to wait 35 minutes which is very unusual. We have been loyal clients for many years. Finally switched to a new dental office and by the time they saw me, I needed a root canal because of the filling done by West Pasco Family Dental. Yet, they still continue to send me bills. And I have yet to hear back from Dr. Nielsen who did a poor job on my filling. They will make an appointment for you, then not notify you that they cannot see you on that date because they so not have a hygienist scheduled. so they try to push your appointment months out regardless of how much pain you're in.

They did a filling (which ended up cracking shortly after). In doing that it did not fit well and pushed the tooth in front of it so tight that I couldn't floss. Over time I had to keep going in to get it adjusted so I could floss. Although this is fixing the work I've already paid for, they'd charge my insurance at times. Once it was loose enough to floss, that resulted in my implant next to it having issues, so now I have to pay $1600 for something THEY DID! I even paid some out of pocket expenses and when I checked my bill, they were charging insurance stating that I had a filling but of course insurance wouldn't pay it because that's an implant and no tooth is there. I should not be charged, nor should my insurance, for work I've paid for already and they need to fix. When I asked they'd say, well there isn't an expense to you. Um yes there is! I still pay for that insurance and because they did that I didn't have enough left in the year to cover a new implant crown I have to pay for....again....because they screwed it up! The front office and dentist both told me I should receive a refund for $175. Ofe then tells me that refund went to other charges on my account. Yeah the dishonest filling you charged me for! Their communication is horrible, professionalism is lacking, and ALWAYS check your statements with this place. I have yet to receive my refund and don't anticipate it will happen. I'm highly debating taking this to court for the simple purpose that it's wrong and they need to know they can't do this to people. The dentist and hygienist turnover rate is high here. Moving to corporate was not a good choice for this place. Do not go to West Pasco Family Dental!

My wife and I recently moved to the Kennewick area from the west side and were looking for a local…read moredentist. I called Ideal as they were recommended by my Physical Therapist who said she has been going there since she was a teenager. I explained to the receptionist that we had just moved here and were looking for a new dentist and wanted to get our teeth cleaned. The receptionist said, "no problem, we can get you scheduled and taken care of" which she did. I gave her our insurance over the phone so they would have the information for our visit. The call was on October 25th and our appointment was scheduled for October 31st at 1:00 PM. We showed up for our appointment about ten minutes early and, after a short wait, we were taken back for what we believed would be a checkup, X-rays and cleaning. That was not the case. After the routine checkup and X-rays, the dentist came in for a brief consultation and presented his plan for treatment. We were then escorted to meet with the finance person. We were told that our insurance would not accept the treatment done by Ideal and that we were liable for over $800 for the X-rays, exam and consultation. We left in shock. We are both in our mid 70's and on a fixed income. I would have thought that Ideal would have known the issues with our insurance before we came in and would have informed us of what to expect. We went back to our insurance, and they agreed to work with Ideal. We got the cost down to $652.00, still more than we have ever paid any dentist. We did find out, shame on us, that the issue with our insurance is due to the fact we went outside of network. But I still would have thought Ideal would have informed us of this ahead of time. $652,00 and we still didn't get our teeth cleaned.
