I became a patient of Dr. DaSilva when I moved to Davis in 2011. He is an excellent doctor who encourages a healthy lifestyle. His manner comes off as Mr. Rogers, with a positive orientation, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and our best "medicine." He gets to know his patients as individuals. My girlfriend has been seeing him for the same period. She is a scientist, and she respects him and appreciates his insights. read more

This doctor is rude and has horrible communication/people skills. He treats my elderly parent due to proximity and insurance coverage. He seemed very rushed and when I asked a simple question he came back with a rude response. I know not everyone has the emotional intelligence to work under pressure and remain professional, but there are training programs for that. Perhaps Sutter is not too concerned about public interaction skills or bedside manner. It seems most of the prior complaints here address the very same issue. To me, that says something about Sutter as an organization. He does make me happy I have Kaiser and not Sutter however! read more

Sutter. Don't act like you care. The administration of the Sutter system sucks. Care is always delayed. Doctors are egotistical more then any other system. I am doing a write up now on yet another FEW. read more

Seeing Dr. DaSilva was a wonderful experience for me. He was professional, knowledgeable, thorough, gentle, respectful, a good listener and he has a good chair side manner. He listened carefully to all my questions and concerns and he took care of all my needs. He explained everything so that I could understand it. I was overjoyed to discover that he even made a way for me to pursue health care in ways I am comfortable with. I feel he is an asset to the Sutter Health care system. read more

Doctor Dasilva is very rushed and does not complete any of the necessary paperwork you may need to have properly. He has to be one of the worst internal medicine doctors I have ever experienced. Dr. DaSilva was more concerned with my mask that i wore into the office being CDC approved then how I was doing. Even after I put on the mask he had his assistant provide me; he was still going on about it. After I told him that I just lost my house, could care less about if my mask was CDC approved or not, and was there for a Dr. visit he proceeded to walk out of the room. When he walked back in and found out I wanted him fired he walked me to reception then told them I needed another Doctor. There needs to be some accountability to treating a patent this way; he put in my after patent summery that i requested a cancelation; what a joke. read more

Don't go to Sutter Medical Center if you have anything beyond a very simple situation. I talked to Dr. Dasilva who was more interested in vocalizing my health care situation, than in caring for me. He was very nervous and seemed to be in a very extreme rush, about his demeanor. He did not prescribe any of the medications for my urgent symptoms at all. Thankfully, I will be going back to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care System, where the doctors take their time with you, and leaving the Sutter Health Care Medical group in Davis well behind me, in the past. read more

I wouldn't give him 1 star if possible! This man was THE worst doctor I have ever come across in my 58 years!! I had a near fatal car crash in 1997, received a small but effective brain injury, broke my back, injured my neck, injured both legs and was in a coma. After all of that...I became a fibromyalgia sufferer. I started seeing a wonderful doctor at Internal Medicine and had a beautiful doctor/patient relationship with him for many, many years. He moved on to a more detailed field of medicine and introduced me to my next favorite doctor whom I adored! He cared for me for years until he sadly passed away on the table during heart surgery. I was next placed in this idiots care. I had gotten to know the staff very well in all my years as a patient there. I dealt with him as my doctor only because at the time we had planned on moving and I did love the staff. Da Silva was the strangest doctor I have ever experienced!! He had issue with my pain management and suddenly wanted me to cut down and eventually stop my pain meds. Any chronic pain patient knows how frightening the thought of living in costant pain is after it being mamaged and not abused for many years. While we were weaning me down from my meds, I had an appointment that I wasn't able to make due to a horrific family incident and Da Silva called me at home at 8pm that night and said he was not going to honor my pain contract anymore. I asked if I could ask why and he told me it was personal! I was shocked but still thought he would continue with my low dose of methadone...No! He gave me nothing and did not care!! His staff was shocked and disgusted!! They apparently pleaded with him to not do that to me. He declined but never did say why. I was extremely ill for weeks from the sudden withdrawl...went to the E.R. 3x and the doctors there were all very compassionate! On one of my earlier visits with Da Silva, he actually said to me that the DEA might knock on my door one day!! I asked him why would they do that? I've never abused my meds and who do they think prescribed my meds? He is a horrible person and a horrible doctor! I had a family member with me at each appoimtment and they all thought he was creepy!! Good luck if you have him as a doctor! His jello handshake should have been my first clue! read more

Terrible primary care physician, Dr Dasilva is never prepared when you come and see him. He knows absolutely nothing about his patients. I saw him yesterday and he said I violated my pain management contract because I never picked up a prescription that I could not afford the co-payment for this sleep aid was a 100.00 a bottle. I can't afford that monthly cost and I stated that to him and he just shrugged his shoulders and said there's nothing I can do you can see another doctor. I asked him am I supposed to suffer now because I have severe insomnia and he said I guess it's out of my hands. What kind of doctor allows his patients to suffer without ant alternatives. I asked him to give me a cheaper prescription to no avail. I've been with Sutter doctors for 15 years or more and never had a doctor so uncaring and always rushing patients out the office. I see numerous complaints on here about this doctor and it looks like nothing is ever done about it. UNACCEPTABLE read more
