The RN at the reception desk, Diana S., did not provide the level of professionalism or courtesy I expected. The Urgent Care staff gave me a referral paper with my son's information and instructed me to hand it to the Emergency Department staff. When I handed the paper to her, she did not look at it and instead began asking me questions about my own medical history, including my allergies. My infant son was right next to me in his stroller, and I had to interrupt to explain that he--not I--was the patient. Had the referral paper been reviewed, it would have been clear that I was the mother and my infant son was the patient. The most upsetting moment was when a gust of wind blew the referral paper onto her side of the desk. She picked it up, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the trash without saying a word. Since Urgent Care had specifically instructed me to hand that paper to the Emergency Department, seeing it immediately discarded without any explanation was shocking. As a mother bringing my infant to the ER, I was already scared and worried. This interaction made me feel deeply disrespected. Patients and their families deserve to be treated with basic courtesy, especially when they are seeking emergency care for a sick child.

DO's are just as much doctors as MD's and should not be discredited. 5 years out of medical school (if true) doesn't mean anything as far as how good of a doctor someone is. After a simple move--picking up a pair of pants--my back went out completely. I was in excruciating, incapacitating pain. While sitting offered some relief, the transition to standing was unbearable; it felt like my whole back was lighting up. I reached out to Dr. O'Connor, and he got me in quickly. Using his years of experience and specialized tools, he worked on my back--bending, twisting, and carefully adjusting my spine. After about an hour of his targeted treatment, the pain was simply gone. It was absolutely amazing. This isn't the first time he's saved me, but this lower back incident was the most severe. After the nurses asked us the general questions, the doctor came in. She just told my wife to take ibuprofen for her burns. She said to cold compress when we get home. She didn't offer any ice bags or any other methods to ease the pain. My wife had to ask for other types of pain management methods. After that, she offered a shot to help with her pain. I feel like we could've just stayed home instead of paying our co-pay. This was the only place in our area that opened past 7pm. We probably wouldn't come back here.
