Once in a while I did encounter a kind doctor who took their time to really understand my health concern. I've since tried NYU and Mount Sinai and have had a much better experience at both.

This is a couple months overdue, but want to share since finding a good primary care physician can…read morebe challenging. Unfortunately, this is not a review to say that you have found one. I went to this office when I was having some GI symptoms back in November. To begin, I knew that they needed to perform a basic lab test and when I needed to provide the sample during the 45 minute wait, they brushed it off. Then when they took my vitals, I asked what they were, and the MA refused to tell me, only saying that "the doctor would tell me," which only added to my stress. Upon meeting with the NP, she was not inclined to discuss my symptoms or potential causes, instead kept snapping at me b/c I was anxious. She interrupted my visit to have me talk to a social worker b/c I was anxious(which, after having symptoms for over two weeks is pretty normal) who basically accused me of seeking out antianxiety meds. I'm a nurse-all I wanted to do was be informed about my medical condition(including my vitals) I never asked for anxiety meds! Their behavior was making me more anxious! In any case, I followed through with an outpatient ultrasound and awaited my lab results. When the labs returned that I had an infection in my stomach on a weekend, I waited for them to call me on Monday to inform me and prescribed antibiotics. I gave them until 12 and proceeded to call them multiple times. When I finally reached Dr Myers, she snapped at me that she hadn't seen me, and that I needed an endoscopy. I asked her if she was going to be prescribing antibiotics, since she could CLEARLY SEE that I had an infection, and that this what was needed. She refused and said, "I'm not giving you anything, you need to go to a gastroenterologist." I pointed out that not treating a medical condition that she had results for was malpractice, and she hung up on me. I did seek out medical care elsewhere, and was prescribed the medication that was required for that infection, which (surprise, surprise) resolved. However, even months later, this experience horrifies me. Dr. Myers violated the first rule of practicing physicians-"First, do No Harm." How could a physician refuse to treat an infection? My treatment was delayed by several days due to the office not notifying me of my results, and her not prescribing antibiotics. I ended up taking my labwork to CityMD, who had NO PROBLEM prescribing the medication that I needed BASED ON THE LAB RESULTS. My advice would be if you need a general checkup for work/school and this is the ONLY place that your insurance will cover...I would still go somewhere else. It's New York City-she's not the only option! If, God forbid, you actually have a medical issue that requires evaluation and treatment, RUN past this place and go to ANY OTHER doctor. Go to the ED if you have to. You have a better shot of getting treatment from your dog than you do from Dr. Myers and her team.

The Dr.'s at this practice, Dr. Myers and Dr. Sargeant are two of the nicest doctors I have…read morevisited. I was patient of Dr. Myers for years before she needed assistance with her overflow and transferred me to Dr. Sargeant. I have had increased medical activity recently and noticed that Dr. Sargeant over-looked quite a few red flags that needed to be brought to my attention. As a result, I have since moved on to a new practice and have been met with extremely unprofessionalism in trying to gain copies of my medical records. The front office staff of this practice is comprised of a bunch of unambitious women who's only goal at work is to leave once their shift is complete. They are unprofessional, rude and a few of them are actually smokers which I find odd, especially since they take cigarette breaks in front of the practice. If you are in need of having medical forms filled out or basic (BASIC) medical attention and don't mind having to visit an over crowded, unprofessional office, you will have no problem here. But if you are looking for a dr. who will actually pay attention to, not only what is on your chart, but to what you're actually saying when speaking to him, this isn't the place. So funny, the last time I was in Dr. Sargeant's office he had me sit for a minute while he continued reading CNN online. whatever

We've seen a few different doctors (sometimes we aren't able to see his PCP) and everyone is very knowledge, cordial and kind. The nurses are all great and attempt to calm my son down who get a a bit nervous as he's only 2.5 (he started seeing his doctor at 18 months when we moved to NYC). At times during afternoon visits when they're busier the wait time can be a little long but that's fine. We are patient and things work out.
