When I had a follow up with the prescribing physician I'd let them know my time is valuable and I would not be going back to that place. I've been to numerous PTs, to the point that I actually became quite skeptical about the efficacy of PT as a practice. Having recently had bilateral rotator cuff surgery, and after having walked out of another local PT appointment due to their lack of understanding of the issues, I decided on Peak. Dan Fishman, Bill, and Roland keep meticulous records; proof of an actual protocol was evident. I'd never experienced this before with any PT. Since working with them in early January, I have rehabilitated both shoulders to a point that the are functional. It's been grueling and time consuming, but the results are the proof. I never leave reviews, but it bears communicating: One of the staff members at the desk gave me…read moreincorrect information (that NY State mandates 10 appts without a referral- that isn't true!), and when I tried to decode that she decided to argue with me continuously (including giving more incorrect info) AND literally took the opportunity to call a bunch of people and speak badly of me in FRONT of me at the office- only some of it was in English, I can only imagine what she was saying otherwise. I just called again (there aren't many PTs covered around me), and she again took the opportunity to argue instead of make up for her mistake. At this point I feel there's no chance of receiving quality care here, specifically because of her attitude. If I went here, I'd also have to see her- and she makes me so uncomfortable I'm deciding not to receive care. Incorrect info aside, it's the willingness to fight and put me down that really disturbed me. I think she's the sister of the owner, so expect her to be there a long time. Finally, IF I had listened to her incorrect information I would be on the hook for out of pocket PT (she kept insisting I could come in without a referral, even though my insurance told both of us that wasn't the case.) I hope the practice takes this review seriously-- I'd like to think that at least the PTs take their oath not to do harm seriously.

I felt so much better right away! At the start of our appointment, I felt like when I explained the pain I was feeling in my shoulder he really listened to what was going on. He took the time and care to really hear me out. The pressure was spot on (pun intended) and he worked out knots I didn't know I had. Recently I have added to this regiment manual muscle therapy for my scoliosis from John Potts, LMT for several months. Under John's guidance I have participated in a weekly exercise class and received a chair massage with the purpose of increased strengthening of muscles on the "weaker" side of my body and breaking up scar tissue that has been "binding up" those muscles. The positive effect of John's work on my back, allowing it to move more freely, has been remarkable. John seems very knowledgeable about how the various parts of the body are meant to work, and very encouraging as I attempt to follow his exercise instructions when home. He has been patient in allowing me to progress at a reasonable pace that fits where I am at. It took me decades of work that included repetitive motion to become so twisted in posture, so my progress is slow. But the manual muscle therapy has been been a good boost to the treatment I started 4 years ago and I am thankful.
