Due to recent wildfire activity in Southern California, the insurance landscape has changed dramatically since the last time I shopped for Insurance - it's the Wild West out there! Learning the difference between Non-admitted carriers vs admitted carriers... Difference In Conditions Policies + California Fair Plan... Premiums 3 to 4 times higher than I have ever paid before, despite never having had a claim in 26 years... I made contact with and received quotes from four different alternatives, none of which seemed like the right choice for me and my family, nor did any of the insurance professionals I spoke to impress me... Until I stumbled upon John Knowd at Thousand Oaks Insurance! John returned my phone call within just a few hours - and over the course of the next few weeks, spent a great deal of time walking me through my options, making reasonable recommendations based on his experience and my property details. I never felt like "just another number" or as if I was being oversold. Quite the opposite in fact, I was left with a feeling that I was joining a team or a family, who had my best interest in mind, and who responded quickly to any question, comment or concern that I had along the way. While not the least expensive option I found, sometimes in life you just get what you pay for... As usual, the process involved forms, fees and time if going through the DMV. So, my son and I visited our local AAA to see if they could make it easier and faster. It was then that we met Alena Avedisian, one of the frontline Member Specialists. Alena started and completed the process in around 20 minutes. We filled out a form and paid a $15 transfer fee and voila! Finished. Alena provided friendly, competent and efficient service that far exceeded our expectations. But AAA wasn't finished. We inquired about getting insurance as well. So we were introduced to, and attended by, Ryan Cope. We went back to Ryan's workspace and told him about our current State Farm policy and the insured limits we wanted to get. Ryan produced a quote for 12 months of car insurance... that was less than half of what State Farm was charging us... for the same coverage. Done! We paid for the insurance. I told the man I read online that each registered car I had could get the plates, he said no! I only wen to this place to avoid the long lines at the DMV. So I ended up going to the DMV anyways, I asked for the disability plates. They handed them to me Right away. For 2 cars. So the man at AAA was dead wrong! So be aware they may give you totally wrong info. The value of the place AAA on Wilbur that wasted my time is zero for this reason. Maybe they're good at something else, like give you travel maps or something else, but it's not cars and registrations and refused to give me the disability plates I had the right to.

We either spoke on the phone or sent texts. We had scheduled a phone call for 10:00 the morning of January 15th. Here is what the text messages read which were sent the evening before: Jessica: "Our office close at 5pm." Me: " The roofer is running late so we will have to discuss tomorrow since it will be after 5." Jessica: "Okay, that sounds good. When is a good time for me to reach out? " Me: " The times are PST so one hour later in Idaho. 7:30-8:00, 10:00-10:15, 11:45-12:15, Anytime after 3:00." Jessica: "perfect, thank you for sending the times. I will call you at 10 am tomorrow. Have a good evening." The next day at 10:00 am Jessica did not call. I waited a few minutes and called her. I also sent a text. There wasn't any response on my phone. I called again. Later I noticed Jessica had sent an email to me. We had never communicated by email.She sent the email at 9:13 that morning telling me I needed to find a new agent. I didn't receive an explanation. I had an open claim and an agent who wouldn't help me. I was provided with some phone numbers to call so I could change agents and handle my claim.
