Due to recent wildfire activity in Southern California, the insurance landscape has changed dramatically since the last time I shopped for Insurance - it's the Wild West out there! Learning the difference between Non-admitted carriers vs admitted carriers... Difference In Conditions Policies + California Fair Plan... Premiums 3 to 4 times higher than I have ever paid before, despite never having had a claim in 26 years... I made contact with and received quotes from four different alternatives, none of which seemed like the right choice for me and my family, nor did any of the insurance professionals I spoke to impress me... Until I stumbled upon John Knowd at Thousand Oaks Insurance! John returned my phone call within just a few hours - and over the course of the next few weeks, spent a great deal of time walking me through my options, making reasonable recommendations based on his experience and my property details. I never felt like "just another number" or as if I was being oversold. Quite the opposite in fact, I was left with a feeling that I was joining a team or a family, who had my best interest in mind, and who responded quickly to any question, comment or concern that I had along the way. I was told by Maria that Ms. Sawyer had relocated to Idaho. After posting a negative review on Google, Ms. Sawyer began communicating with me regarding my claim. We either spoke on the phone or sent texts. We had scheduled a phone call for 10:00 the morning of January 15th. Here is what the text messages read which were sent the evening before: Jessica: "Our office close at 5pm." Me: " The roofer is running late so we will have to discuss tomorrow since it will be after 5." Jessica: "Okay, that sounds good. When is a good time for me to reach out? " Me: " The times are PST so one hour later in Idaho. 7:30-8:00, 10:00-10:15, 11:45-12:15, Anytime after 3:00." Jessica: "perfect, thank you for sending the times. I will call you at 10 am tomorrow. Have a good evening." The next day at 10:00 am Jessica did not call. I waited a few minutes and called her. I also sent a text. There wasn't any response on my phone. I called again. Later I noticed Jessica had sent an email to me. We had never communicated by email.She sent the email at 9:13 that morning telling me I needed to find a new agent. I didn't receive an explanation. I had an open claim and an agent who wouldn't help me. I was provided with some phone numbers to call so I could change agents and handle my claim.
