    Meh!
    Kenya M.

DA catered my companies picnic today and I was disappointed. After hearing such amazing reviews, I just knew we were in for some finger licking good food. Well, that's NOT what we got. The burgers were well done on the outside and raw on the inside. I bit down into my burger and saw nothing but blood! We notified one of the workers about the raw burgers but he seemed very confused. Language barrier maybe?? The chicken was smothered in sauce but lacked flavor. It also could've cooked a little bit longer as it was a task getting the meat off the bone. Raw chicken will kill you so we trashed it. The macaroni salad was tasty but the potato salad was bland. Everything was a hot mess on the tables. The staff was uninterested in making things look presentable or throwing away the 6 empty ketchup bottles on the condiment table. Unfortunately, DAC left a bad taste in my mouth- literally.

Chicken cutlet in a wrap with jack cheese, jalapeños, bacon, honey mustard, and Mike's spicy sauce (custom made for kero ;))

We were hired to create two balloon arches at this venue within the same week. During our first visit on a weekday, our experience was excellent. The maître d' was welcoming, respectful, and made sure we had everything we needed. He explained the venue's expectations regarding the floors and walls, and treated us professionally from start to finish. Unfortunately, our second visit on a Saturday was completely different. As soon as we unloaded our vehicle and arrived upstairs, the owner, Peter, approached us with a noticeably cold and unfriendly attitude. Instead of introducing himself or welcoming us, his first comments were asking who we were there for and warning us not to scratch the floors or walls. We politely explained that we had just worked at the venue earlier that week and had already been informed of those guidelines. He walked away abruptly, then returned and said he was "just doing his job," offering what felt like a half-hearted apology. Throughout the setup, we felt uncomfortable and closely monitored. At one point, while I was bringing additional supplies in from the car, I noticed him watching me and then pulling a staff member aside to whisper something. The interaction left us feeling unwelcome and singled out. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that every other staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and genuinely pleasant to work with. They treated us with courtesy and respect, which made the contrast even more noticeable. As vendors, we expect to be treated professionally while doing our jobs. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome despite our previous positive experience at the same venue.

They have sharp floors that are grated. We stayed while it rained and made sure we were on the 3rd floor for coverage, but it doesn't matter. The rain comes through, we just wanted to sit and have coffee. There's a light you cannot turn off, and the heating/cooling system is on every balcony so even if you turn tryouts off you hear everyone else's. You might as well have no balcony. But it's still worth the visit. Such a great hotel but the balcony's are awful. And no privacy, can see the people above you and below you. It's honestly just for show. Other than that I'd stay again and not get a balcony room. I think it's to deter smoking but it's not even cozy, it's sharp, and not private. Great view but there was a wedding so saw everyone on the balconies and can hear and see everyone, they need to be designed to be functional not for show.

We wanted to sit in the lobby, but there was trash at the fireplace. The lobby was unclean ie the couch, table, fireplace area. There was no coffee or cream in our room. It took 40 minutes for them to come up. They brought cream and sugar and no coffee. We called the front desk twice to rectify this issue. There was a phone in the room that did not work and no phone cord, which is a huge safety issue. There was yelling and slamming doors at 6am outside of our room in the hallway. There was also no body soap in the shower, when we showered this morning. We will not be returning, as this was another disappointing stay.

We get booked all the time on behalf of Mike (who's awesome btw). The staff is courteous and absolutely amazing! The space is two floors a large dance floor and multiple rooms to set up your party, 2 bathrooms, and a VIP riser. This past weekend we did a surprise birthday, complete with open photobooth. Two weeks prior we had done a huge Halloween party (150+) people---the venue set up space for a fortune teller, face painter, large buffet, glow-in-the dark t-shirt section all at request of the client. So if you're looking for a great venue to throw your next party, bridal brunch, anniversary, or just a night out with a few hundred of your closest friends please go check this place out! The rooms were so cold that my guests had to wear their jackets the entire time. Their solution was to use several small space heaters throughout which didn't do anything to warm up the rooms and only managed to continuously trip the circuits and shut out the lights. Also, do not use their in house catering. I wish I knew the name of the caterer they used because they would deserve a review of their own. The penne vodka was so spiciy you could not eat it. Normally the pasta would be one of the first things to go so you know it was really bad - it was barely touched. How do you screw up the pasta? Thankfully I had ordered a couple of extra trays of food because there would not have been enough food otherwise. Not sure how they calculate their food portions or maybe Mike just needs to review my food order with the caterer to see what was ordered vs what was delivered. Because definitely something is off. No complaints about the staff. They just couldn't overcompensate for the bad experience.

The service was very friendly and appreciated throughout the entire night. The cocktail hour was one of the better ones I attended. There was a raw bar, taco station, pasta station, sushi station, etc. My favorite items tried were the sliced beef and chicken in a waffle cone. The beef was cooked to a medium rare temperature and extremely flavorful. The chicken in a waffle cone was a great balance of sweet and spicy with a good amount of chicken in the cone. The sushi was decent at best, while the stuffed rigatoni was tasty too. The raw bar was a little underwhelming as I was not a fan of the raw oysters, but I did not try everything so maybe I just had a few poor ones. The first course of the night was the estate signature salad. It contained arugula, baby greens with julienne apples and an aged white wine vinaigrette. It was topped with caramelized walnuts and manchego cheese. It was a well put together salad. All the toppings complimented one another nicely especially the cheese and vinaigrette. For an entrée, I had the chateaubriand. It was roasted in a cabernet sauce and garnished with caramelized scallops. There was also a side of asparagus, carrots, and potatoes. The asparagus was fine, but the carrots were too hard. The potatoes were not too bad either, very creamy and packed with rosemary I believe. They actually asked for a temperature, which was unusual at a wedding. I asked for medium rare, and it came out a touch over, but not too big of a deal. It was a nice sized portion with just enough flavor. I also tried the salmon Oscar, which was topped with lump crabmeat and a cream sauce. The salmon and crabmeat were both too dry unfortunately. There needed to be more seasoning present as well. I also tried the chicken caprese, which was stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pesto served with roasted cherry tomatoes with vodka sauce. This was another solid tasting dish, great layers from the filing in the chicken. Finally, I also tried the spinach and ricotta stuffed eggplant with a tomato-basil sauce. This was another satisfying dish and was not too heavy like I thought it might be. This had great flavor. Will I go back? Yup.
