Dave was an absolute gem to work with. Went above and beyond to get my exhaust work done. Craftsmanship was wonderful and the service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended. Hate dealing with repair shops typically but this shop was a pleasure. read more

We took our classis 1931 Chevy in for a new exhaust system. Dave performed inspection and made suggestions based on our concerns. He did the repairs to our car himself. We are extremely happy with the results of his meticulous work. His staff was professional and courteous. We will be recommending him to all our friends, and business clients going forward. No job too small, excellent service, and community oriented. Called Dave's regarding a small repair, the response "sure come by anytime after we open" Slid in, repair addressed quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. The assistance was greatly appreciated! read more

Maybe 30yrs ago this was the spot to take ur car, now it's a complete waste of time. Overcharged for shit work that didn't even fix anything and didn't even notice the real issue at hand. Keep some dignity, and hang up ur hat dude, what a joke. And this clown charges $200 an hour!!!! only in sonoma. Anywhere else this dude wouldn't last a month. read more

Very friendly and competent service. Devin could not have been more helpful. Prices were reasonable for the extensive work I needed done. I was very happy with Dave's and recommend them highly. read more

I took my car to Aamco in Santa Rosa because of a rare sound that would come from the front suspension and was quoted $1,500 to replace the entire front end. I brought it to Dave's instead and told Devin the whole story. He had the techs check everything and my car is fine. Money in the bank. read more

Once again, Dave continues to astonish and over deliver! This shop exemplifies customer service. We had to drop off our trailer because the brake and turn lights didn't work. He told us to bring it in and he would get to it as soon as possible - probably a couple of days. Instead he was able to get to it late that evening and we heard back by the end of the same day we dropped it off. Dave and his team are kind, generous and thorough. High, high recommendations for this well located Sonoma auto shop! read more

We love Daves Muffler Shop, he is honest .... Dave and his employees value there customers . We have taken 2 of our trucks to his shop, we were given an estimate, we approved the estimate the work was done .... hidden fees, good mechanics, great customer service lots of calls received keeping us well informed. Daves Muffler Shop is the only mechanic shop in Sonoma that we didnt have to come back. We would recommend this mechanic shop to anyone who needs a good and honest mechanic. read more

When I brought my truck to Dave's in 2022 I was new to Sonoma. Dave's was recommended. My brakes were smelling terribly and I just wanted to make sure everything was ok. Devon was so nice and helpful. They even drove me back to my house, and then returned my truck to me. I drove the mechanic back to the shop which gave us an opportunity to listen to the truck and discuss repair items. Dave's assessed my truck for $0. and said that no repairs were needed. How refreshing to find an honest shop! This goes a long way to keeping me as a customer. And, when I have a bad experience, everyone will know! read more

Nice counter person who will intake your information to find out the service needed. They are knowledgeable and are helpful to fix the problem. They were able to fix my problem and were completed in a reasonable time at a fair cost. read more

Decided to put a shield on my Prius' catalytic converter. Checked with Dave and he had the part in stock. I was in and out the next day. Very friendly and professional service read more

Dave and his crew have that old school Sonoma feel. I have been taking my classic to them since I got it 3 years ago and I would not entrust it to just anyone. Dave is affordable, trustworthy and always let's me know upfront what the costs will be before they begin the work. I highly recommend Dave and his crew for all your automotive needs. Devin who works the front always takes the time to explain to me in detail what needs to be repaired. I really appreciate this. read more

Driving my 2000 Ford F-150 over to Napa and the tailpipe falls off of the muffler on the highway. Dave's Muffler & Brake come highly recommended. Dave with his Expertise and Craftsmanship installed a brand new muffler system. I am most impressed with attention to detail, new fabricated hangers, bead welding, bending of the custom fabricated pipes and sturdiness of the system. The old girl has a new set! Nice Job Dave thanks. read more

I was on a road trip from the Phoenix area to Sonoma to visit and had some issues with the wear on my car (1997 Explorer). A friend of mine recommended Dave's. I went there and they couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I was on there for two days so they checked my car the first day. They identified several issues in addition to the normal 3,000 mile maintenance. They ordered the parts needed and installed every thing the following morning. I was good to go at noon. On the ride home it was clear that they had been accurate - a persistent low level rattle was gone, a tendency to drift right was gone and overall a quieter ride, GREAT JOB!! read more

I have had the best experience here! Came in for a catalytic converter repair a few month ago and they were so nice to help explain everything to me, and set me up with a next day appointment. I just went back recently for a ABS light. I will go to them for everything! read more

Great service, entirely honest, very reasonable prices, just a good place. My truck went in with an initial diagnosis of a fairly expensive problem, Dave's called me the next day to tell me the actual problem was something entirely different and cost less than 25% the initial estimate. The truck runs great and I can't say enough good things about this shop. read more

I found the Mercedes auto repair of my dreams. I've been taking my truck to Daves Muffler, who has expanded to auto repair. When my mercedes wagon needed service I called Dave. The wagon needed b, d, and e service and it was clear the brakes needed to be done. He did the full b, d, and e, replaced the front brake pads and sensors, the lower ball joints and changed the brake fluid, using all mercedes parts, all for $900. Anybody knows at the dealer this would have been $2k. Dave Rules! read more

I backed up over a rock, which caused my muffler to start rattling and grinding. It was put back into place at no charge. I was very happy with the service at Dave's Muffler & Brake. I will definitely come back. Devon at the front was very nice and helpful. read more

My car didn't pass smog, so I took it here. They charged me $500, and it still failed the smog test, in fact emissions were actually HIGHER after taking it to them. Got the catalytic converter replaced by a different auto shop and it solved the issue entirely. Went back there and they refused to admit that they should've just put in a new catalytic converter and wouldn't refund any money. Stay away, they're scammers. read more

Dave is awesome. Great work. Great place. Affordable and honest. I'd recommend anyone to go there first.

These guys are great and honest. Had an exhaust leak on my RV. Was bracing for the sales pitch of all the work I would need. I was told it looked like some loose nuts on exhaust manifold and 30 minutes later, it was fixed for $30. Wow! If you want an honest, straight shooter shop, Dave's is one of the few left. Use Dave's and you won't be disappointed. read more

Horrible spot, bad service, couldn't tell a tire from a doorknob. Charged for service that didnt need to be done. Stay away.

The rest of the Yelpers who 5-starred this place didn't steer me wrong! So far, 3 visits with 2 cars with multiple (strange) issues and I feel confident that Dave and his crew are all top notch. I wish I hadn't had so much car trouble over the last 6 months, but I am SO glad that I found Dave's! You guys are great :) read more

Couldn't be happier with the work Dave did, after having a dealership look at my car and tell me I needed a new exhaust I took it to Dave's. Not only did he save me money by finding I only needed a weld fixed and not a new exhaust he went above and beyond by also fixing another weld he saw was going bad and would need repair in the future. Saved me money and a future headache. 10/10 read more

It's hard to find a decent place around Sonoma to get an oil change. I've been taken advantage of in the past, charged for repairs that I'm pretty certain weren't a problem at all, but I know nothing about cars. Recently every light on my dashboard had been going off, "Check oil-filter-tire pressure-tire maintenance". I still had 500 miles left before an oil change was required, but better safe than sorry. I was delighted to find a business close by that mentions oil changes in their add. I took my car there yesterday. Devon at the front counter was great. They got my car in quickly, took a screw out of a tire and patched it up (remember the tire maintenance light?) Got the oil and filter changed and now the lights are all off and my car is purring like a kitten. And I paid less than I thought it was going to cost me! I didn't get a chance to meet Dave, but I'm giving a thumbs up to the rest of the crew! read more

Sonoma wouldn't be the same without Dave's Muffler, brought in my 2006 Chevy Tahoe to put some Super 10's on it, and did it within one hour while working on two other cars at once. Always a polite staff, and good vibe, and always a beautiful showcase of cars out front. read more

Dave's Muffler is a true gem! Their service is excellent, and prices are more then fair. They've helped me with difficult requests, but they're really best at being proactive on the overall health of the vehicle. Dave's mechanics are great and work hard to make things happen on time. I recommend Dave for all jobs...take your car in for diagnostics and he'll tell you what you need! read more
