It is just the right size for a small town like Nashville I can see how everyone would want to shop there as they offer most anything a person would need in the way of groceries. It is so cute Kroger should really do some advertising about it. It's a real hidden gem.

Bought a verizon refill card they didnt scan it right came back to the store.they refused to help…read moresaid i had to take care of it.i called about twelve numbers got no where and went back in.i was quite hateful by this point and guess what the assistant manager told the worker she couldnt help she had her back to me didnt know i was there she was playing on her phone .she gave me a local verizon store number .by this time im late for work but the card was my 73 year old mothers. So i left and everyone in that store heard my anger on the way out .i have a step daughter who is a walmart manager and i know each store has a number if they arent to lazy to help.went to get gas at caseys general store and guess what they helped me get my mom the credit on the dollar general error.verizon reported this to management cause guess what this is not the only complaint towards the dollar general in steeleville il.i hope more report them cause they wont be selling the cards anymore.so no i wont be buying one single card in the store.you wonder why no ones at the cash register and you have to look for the workers well next time look in the office if management worked maybe the cashiers wouldnt need to be hunted down

The store was in good shape compared to some others. No trash or merchandise on the floor, the menswear department was tidy and there were no "holes" in the stock when I was looking for things. ALTHOUGH, last time I went in there I was sorely disappointed and the meat department. I don't know if it was incompetence or laziness.....I asked to have a 5lbs bottom round sliced at 1/4 inch for jerky. The guy asked if he could do that to another employee and I explained (I shouldn't have to) that I've had it done before. This is the butcher area of the meat department......a lady walked up and tells me it will take forever to get done . I said "to slice a 5lbs bottom round?" She said "ya, you usually need to call in a day before to have something like this done so we have time." Absolutely mind blown . It's take 3-4 minutes tops to slice one. Mind you, this is after I explained I've had it done multiple times. I just laughed and left. I didn't even trust them to slice it at this point. She told me it would take approximately 1 hour to accomplish lol. I left and had it down somewhere else in under 10 minutes. While this place is usually just OKAY, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after this interaction. Obviously I'll still go back for some things, but I'll be avoiding this meat department. I would rather pay a little more somewhere else than deal with that type of service again.

However, on this day I purchased approximately $60 worth of groceries, of which approximately $20 worth of past sell date items. First was deal on tortillas which have sell by date of 2/12/25 which tasted like cardboard; next pizza with sell by date of 3/12/25 which I had to throw away because of the nauseating taste; bagels which molded after 2 days; and room fresheners that were dried-up and gave very little odor. I called the store, but manager was not in. Called MIllstadt store to speak with owner, left message and have received no call back. Wanted to address this with store management before posting this, but was I was not able to do so. Also, I experienced an IGA store in Louisiana, where out date items were removed from the "white" store and sent to the "Mexican" store. Being a mid-westerner, I knew this could not happen here. But I was wrong, before buy anything that looks like a good sale, check the dates.
