The young lady who took my order and the young man at the grill were very nice. There were only two on staff at the time. I bring this up because the condiment station needed attention. Sauce dripped onto the counter but other than that the dining area was clean. The sandwich was very good. IYKYK... for those that have not had the sandwich it's a fried chicken breast, on a brioche bun. The deluxe has lettuce, tomato and pickles. You can add your own condiment from ranch, Korean BBQ, Fry Sauce, house sauce, Houston Hot, Buffalo and Honey Mustard... I like the Houston Hot. Perfectly spicy but not crazy. For my regular fries I asked for the rosemary pepper seasoning. About 7 minutes later my to go order was delivered and I took it home, about 4 miles away. When I got home the sandwich and fries were still hot. My only challenge was too much salt on the fries so no 5 star this time. The sandwich was the saving grace.

I just experienced the worst service from the manager of Shake Shack at Mountain View Villiage…read more Around 6:30 on May 13, my daughter and I were sitting outside waiting for our food. We could hear a duck that sounded like it was in distress and we went to check it out. There was a duck standing over a gutter and her ducklings fell down in and could not get out. It was too deep for us to reach them, and so we asked the manager if we could borrow a broom so the ducklings could climb up on it. She said "No, It's a safety violation". I said " I just want to borrow the broom for like five minutes or you could come out with me". Same response. For the next 45 minutes, my daughter and I found anyone who could help us. A nice young woman actually jumped down inside the gutter that was about 5 feet deep. My daughter started asking anyone she saw if they had a net, and someone actually did and let us borrow it. Together we proceeded to save each duckling. There were eight. Once finished, we walked back in the Shake Shack to get a bag to take our food home to heat up. Not one word from the manager, nothing. I think this would be a good opportunity for the leaders of Shake Shack to teach empathy and compassion to their employees. It wasn't that the manager was rude, she just came across as not caring. The least she could've done is when she saw me at the counter is to come up and ask about the ducks. But nothing.

Here's the good part. The fries were great, the pieces of chicken were big and moist, and I loved the kale slaw and pickles. I got a mild tender and a mild slider. The Mister did the same but got hot. Both of my pieces of chicken had funky bits. If you are someone who gets icked out by weird grisly bits on your chicken breast, both my pieces of chicken had that. I didn't think the flavor of the mild was great and once I hit weird bits on the chicken, I was done. I AM going to try again. My husband liked the hot better than my mild. I'm going to try the saucy bites and see if the chicken is more to my liking. And, I'm hoping the weird bits might be an outlier.
