As far as fast food goes, this is pretty solid. Loving the vibes - staff have the logo on their hat, shirt, and all over the walls. The sauces are amazing. The spices in the chicken are amazing. The amount of pickles is funny. The fried mozzarella was solid. Pricy but really good, I want this again. Chicken sandwich was also quite nice. I can see why this place is popular read more

The food is, mostly, a 4-to-5. Over my two visits in a three-day period (one lunch, one dinner) there were only two quality issues. The first is an overall criticism that they are ridiculously stingy with their "Dave's sauce," both on the slider (nearly non-existent) and as a dipping sauce. For what they are charging for their food, they should be including a larger portion of sauce. I mean, they obviously know how large the tenders are, and the little cup is large enough to dip half of one tender...then you can pay for more (if you can even get to the counter - more on that in just a bit). The second quality issue was with the saucy bites. The breading on our order was borderline burned. The hot honey sauce seemed to nearly entirely poured on the bottom of the clamshell they were served in. I really like the tenders, and the bun for the slider is nicely sweet. I ordered mine without pickles or "Kale slaw," as both disgust me, but that's me. The service, however...that is why the rating is mid. The front-line staff collectively have no personality whatsoever. At lunch, our food was served in nice little baskets. At dinner, and may I say go in at dinner at your risk as the lobby and available seating is far too small for the abundance of traffic jamming up and blocking the entire order area with their heads in the clouds. It seems like the overall clientele is unaware of how standing in line and being courteous to others works. Our dinner meal, for dine-in mind you, was served in clamshell go containers. I find that insulting. It was a cold, drizzly evening, so no one was choosing to sit outside, but the seating area , again, is totally inadequate for the crowd size. Even were you to order your meal to-go through the app, you'd be forced to navigate through large groups who apparently think everyone needs to come inside to get a go-order. I honestly do not know if the hassles in the evening are worth returning for dinner, and that is our primarily time to eat out. read more

#vegetarian - Tried the "Not Chicken" Cauli Dave's #3 with my daughter (1 tender, 1 slider with fries). She enjoyed it (and has been before), but since we ordered no spice, it was pretty bland--definitely recommend getting some heat for better flavor. It tastes like what it is: a thick, breaded cauliflower piece on a bun with slaw, pickles, and sauce. Nice to have a vegetarian option, but the price was high--$44.67 for two sandwiches and a small Oreo shake. Fries were warm (not hot) and a bit salty--may want to ask for light seasoning. Surprisingly, it tasted better the next day in the air fryer! Restaurant is colorful with outdoor seating, but tables were dirty when we arrived and had to be cleaned before we could sit. Staff did give us a mac & cheese sample (which I asked for a taste), which was actually really good. Would I return? Maybe once in a while, but not often. read more

We were in Frisco for basketball tournament with our granddaughter and she wanted to try it. We stopped at Dave's my granddaughter got medium tenders and fries I had the medium tender sandwich with macaroni and cheese. She enjoyed her tenders and mine was good also the fries and macaroni and cheese were very good. I got two more tenders to share with her 1 a hot 1 an extra hot. I ate about half of the extra hot and it was so hot I thought I was going to throw up WOW. Thank goodness there was an ice cream shop next door. We'll go back she has already asked when but stop at the medium or hot. read more

Great hot, juicy and plentiful chicken sliders but expect a bit of a 15 minute wait. The combo comes with crinkle fries.

Food 4 STARS The Mini Sliders are so cute and tiny. The little sliders are yummy. Pickles, Dave's sauce and medium spiced chicken for me. It's such a pleasant surprise, treat and BITE! I came back twice because I was happy and full, but so satisfied. Staff is friendly. Ambiance is chill and laid back. Overall I had a pleasant experience. I had been driving by Dave's for months. I'm so glad I finally decided to stop and try. Now I'm a fan and will be back to try MORE! read more

Needed some lunch one day while in Plano and hot chicken sounded good. Went here around noon and ordered the Dave's #3: 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries hot. Glad they gave me an extra Dave's sauce to use on my fries and the chicken tender. It came out pretty quickly and glad to hear this joint is opening stores where I live for a better option for a fast-food joint. read more

FOOD #1: 2 tenders with bread and fries I think overall the dish is pretty solid. Their spice levels are pretty tolerable and a medium wasn't that spicy. The flavor is a bit unevenly distributed so some sections are bland while others are well seasoned. The chicken is a pretty solid but I think I would've liked a bit more flavor throughout. Fries were tasty and everything tasted good with the sauce. VIBES This place is really spacious with several tables along the windows and a back area that's even more spacious. Plenty of seating and I love the interior decorations with the graffiti wall aesthetic! Seems like a fun place to hangout with friends! SERVICE Service pretty quick and no issues here! read more

Thank you Nayeli's. Food was amazing. Service was great. Store had cool arts. Will be back!

The store looks small from the outside but there is a ton of seating inside! I ordered the reaper slider and it was pretty good; spice-wise the levels seem to be less spicy compared to other places. Flavor-wise it was really good and I thought that the chicken was fried well. Overall an above average Nashville hot chicken sandwich to me but I thought that it was small for the steep price. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken is tender and crispy! I ordered the small top-loaded fries, 10-piece Dave's Bites, and a spicy slider. The fries were perfect with the veggies and sauces -- not too thin or too thick, so they paired really well with all the toppings. I personally prefer the non-spicy chicken. It was tender, juicy, and crispy. The spicy chicken tasted more like fajita-style seasoning. read more

My first visit to Dave's was very pleasant. Great customer service and the chicken was super, crisp, well seasoned and spicy. Wow wow... I truly enjoyed my meal and the service in-store. They have an area on the side and also an outside patio where guest can eat. I will be back. read more

The chicken and fries were excellent. The seasoning is amazing. Get extra of their special sauce. Staff is friendly. Weird that you order your food standing up, fill your own drinks and bus your own table and they still flip the screen around for a tip. When charging $14 for tenders, fries and a drink, that's absurd. Price is out of control. For that reason alone, I won't return, despite the delicious chicken. read more

Extremely loud place, food takes a long time, is good but bread, fries and the cheese were COLD, not really a- enjoyable experience.

Heard a lot of buzz about this place when they opened here. Finally went with my family to try it out for lunch. I got the chicken sandwich with fries and sauce. I don't like spicy so I ordered mild (light mild) still a bit spicy but the flavor was good. The portion is great because it's not that big but the price doesn't match the portion IMO. Too expensive. I ordered a strawberry shake for my daughter and it was the worst shake I have tried ever. So order another drink. My youngest got the 2 strips and they were pretty big. I guess I was not impressed. Also the paying machine forces you to tip which is fine but you have to pick up your own food after paying at the front and clean up all your things- again fine but do not force me to tip for simply doing your job. This place is not a restaurant it's a fast food chain. Not sure I'll return. Rather go to canes lol. read more

They are really quick and efficient! After ordering our food was ready within 5 minutes. It came out really crispy. I got the #3 which is the slider & tender with fries combo. It was good but next time I would just get the #2 for more bang for my buck. read more

Spacious with tons of seating inside and outside. I got to try the extra hot slider and it was delicious! The seasoning is perfect and since it was a slider I thought it had the perfect amount of heat! The bun is sweet like a brioche bread so I thought it paired very well with the massive tender. Service was good and everyone was friendly and helpful. The food comes out very fast too and it's easy to order on the app for pickup. read more

Show me what you got Dave! This is only my second hot chicken experience since the Nashville hot swept the nation. They bill their sandwich as a slider. Seems a little larger than that to me. I was really looking for a huge fat juicy oversized crunchy spicy breast on a toasted bun with the heat foiled by some Cole slaw . That's not this sandwich. Although it's probably all I needed. The standard crinkle cuts are serviceable as is the sauce and pickles. I'm not screaming to come back but, rounded up to 4. Go, if you're in the area . read more

This place was alright. I've had it at a different location and it was better. I got the saucy bites and they were not saucy and we got charged for more sauce. I also paid extra for ranch which ok that's fine but the cup was 1/3 full from the beginning. The restaurant itself was fine, no complaints. We ate outside on a beautiful day. read more

I have had daves hot chicken many times and its usually a fairly decent experience however: this most recent time we received raw chicken tenders and my nieces and nephews had already eaten several pieces. The most unfortunate part is that when you call in to the restaurant, you aren't able to speak to a person and the automated system says the kitchen can be busy and to go online to reach a rep. Then from there you have to fill out a contact form in order to relay the info. My guess is that the tenders were not fried long enough allowing portions of the thicker strips to be undercooked and very very raw. I hope the kids don't get sick. read more

Dave's has a special place in my heart!! I have visited an embarrassing amount of times and each time is more amazing than the previous. A friend suggested using the honey provided over the chicken. It didn't make sense to me with so many flavors going on but totally works. I hate I didn't learn this trick early on! My go to is the #3 combo with a tender & slider with cheese. I always get mild and have recently started substituting the fries for mac & cheese. The chicken is huge and I always have leftovers. The chicken reheats wonderfully!! Highly recommend! read more

I'm just gonna say it. Dave's Hot Chicken is hot AF! My go-to at these places is to start at the "Hot" level and see if I need to go up a notch or down. Holy shiz! The Hot level was really hot, and they have an "extra hot" and "Reaper," which I think you gotta sign a release form. Chicken tenders are sliced thin, and I ordered one tender and one slider meal with crinkle cut fries and a drink. I could barely finish the tender and didn't even bother touching the slider. Ben the fries come sprinkled with spices and my mouth was so burnt I couldn't even taste the fries. Dave's was super busy for a Friday night, and since I ordered online I had to wait in the line behind 10 people who were ordering for the evening just to pick up my order. Not sure if this is standard or they were not coordinating effectively that night. Next time I am going for medium. read more

Went in with a free slider/ tender coupon I received at their opening event. They did not take it. So I guess coupons are no longer valid...

The reason I am giving a two star review is because my order that I received wrong order because the tenders felt a lot spicer than usual I have had the spice level and it wasn't as bad as today. This made the food unbearable to eat an it was overall the worst Dave's experience I have ever had read more

I never heard of this but just took a chance on it. Mid-afternoon on a Saturday it is packed and people just keep rolling in. Just one thing served here...really good chicken served as hot as you can stand it. Now open until mid-night on Friday and Saturday, the target audience is not Seniors (like me). The crowd is fairly young and a lot of college age young men line up for a great meal. Lots of families with young kids too. The "tenders" are huge, close to being a small entire chicken breast. Not aware of this, I had a hard time eating two sliders. The slaw dressing and sauces make the meal special. If they put these next to any college campus, the lines would be never ending. With an optional tip this was $20. Not cheap for sure. Really worth it. read more

Great spot for lunch! Quick service and really friendly staff! I went with a coworker for a quick lunch. I ordered the #3 that came with one slider and one tender in Extra Hot. Perfect blend of spice and flavor. Next time I'm going for the Reaper, but I will probably have to wait until after work in case my body decides to rebel against me. Lol! The chicken is tender and crispy and the bun to meat ratio of the slider is perfect! Dave's sauce is good and the pickles are cool and crunchy. You even get a slice of sandwich bread to sop up everything you drop! It's conveniently located right off the highway with plenty of parking. I will definitely be back! read more

I visited here last Thursday for the first time. I had the 2 piece tenders meal (mild) and added mac n cheese. The tenders were hot n fresh and the spice level was perfect, not too spicy but right on the cusp. Fries were good. Mac n cheese has several areas for improvement. It was runny and the noodles were overcooked. My toddler had their French fries and mac n cheese and barely ate any of it. Everything was pretty decent until I saw a long hair fried into one of my chicken tenders. I took it to the front to notify the manager. He had my meal redone within a few minutes, but I feel like he should've done more. Maybe a free dessert or certificate for next time? This is not my favorite hot chicken spot in the metroplex, but I wouldn't mind trying it again, sans the hair and mac n cheese. read more

I had high hopes, because a friend had told me that Dave's Hot Chicken was good, and my experience was not terrible, but I am not sure that I will be returning. First, the service was good. I placed an online order for pickup and I would have appreciated some visual signage for where to go. There was a long line to place the order, and I initially got in that line, then risked losing my spot by going up to the area that looked like the order pickup area. Nick helped me out and he was very friendly. Second, the chicken was juicy. I usually prefer dark meat, but the tenders at Dave's did not have me wishing for thighs instead. I got medium for my spice levels and I think it was perfect for me on a hot day (not trying to get all sweaty with spicy food). Younger me would have gone for at least Hot, but my stomach is less forgiving nowadays. Third, I enjoyed the sauce. The chicken, in both the tender form and the slider form, didn't really need sauce, but I still enjoyed dipping pieces of the tender in the sauce, although I mostly used the sauce for the fries. However, everything was SO salty. I think I liked the rub on the chicken but it was so so so salty. Had it just been less salty, I think I would have enjoyed the overall balance of flavors more. The fries were also very salty. I can't stand unsalted fries and tend to lean on the saltier side, but I think between the tender and the fries, it was just too much and I couldn't even finish the fries. The slider was the saving grace, because I think the bun helped balance out some of the salt on the chicken. But I really think that overall, everything was too salty. Unfortunate, because I was impressed with the juiciness of the chicken, but I don't think I will be back. read more

Great experience at Dave's! The fried chicken is halal, so you know it's good quality meat. The 2 slider meal is really just 2 chicken sandwiches, so you can split as long as you don't mind sharing fries. Speaking of which, the fries are crinkle cut for maximum crispness. Chicken was also very moist. I got it medium spicy but didn't find it to be spicy at all. They were a little heavy-handed with their dry seasoning which made the chicken a little salty, but overall balanced out well with the kale slaw. Would def come back! read more

I first tried Dave's Hot Chicken years ago in LA and loved it. Because of this, I was really excited to try Dave's now that it's in Texas. I ordered the #2, which comes with two sliders and fries. The sliders have kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce. I also added cheese to both sliders for like an extra dollar. The chicken was disappointing as it was really salty and a bit dry. I can handle spicy food, and I thought the hot spice level had a decent kick. The seasoning itself was flavorful, but it was just too salty for me. The fries were really crispy, so I liked them. Also, the workers were really friendly and efficient. Overall, I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't as good as their original location in LA. read more

Tried this on a lark. We love fried chicken but never had hot chicken. I love anything spicy. So it has to be a win win! Service was a bit chaotic but quick considering the crowd. Was not expecting inside to be so tight inside but luckily they have a nice patio to sit outside and enjoy the weather. We both got Combo #1 Two (giant) tenders, fries, sliced bread, and pickles. I got hot, and SO got lite mild. Crust was very crispy and crunchy. Chicken was well cooked and tender, not dry. Fries were nicely crisp as well. Flavor was where it went meh. Nothing really jumped out as a WOW moment as you hear with hot chicken. It was just okay, and if anything there was a ton of the powder dust on it that just gave it a gritty texture. Ultimately, I decided it was not really worth the calories, and I stopped eating before I finished one tender. My SO finished both of his. Overall, it was good but not my favorite. I wouldn't search out this place to go back, but I'd someone anted to go, I would be okay with it. read more

Good Evening San Diego, Bejdhe is back a better than ever! I was in a 2 year long super coma in Ethiopia (camel attack; long story), after I awake from the coma I took a short taxi drive back home and ate this chicken place. My friend was raving about this place, so I had to check it out. It seems like Hot Chicken spots are popping up all over the metroplex. Nevertheless, in my opinion Ricky's Hot Chicken has been the best that I've had in the DFW. So of course, I have to compare every new hot chicken place to that. I ordered the number 2 meal which comes with two sliders, and fries. I had cheese added to my sliders as well. The service was great and my meal was ready to go extremely quickly! I don't think I even waited 5 minutes. The Fries - were FANTASTIC!! SUPER well-seasoned, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I think I honestly prefer their fries over Ricky's, so they take the win here. The Sauce - not very impressive. I read after the fact that some people recommend mixing honey with it so I guess maybe next time I'll try that. Honestly the best way I can describe it is a slightly savory mayo. It just seemed like it was missing something. The Slider - I got the medium spice level and it was perfect! It was the perfect blend of slightly sweet and VERY savory. Definitely not insanely spicy at all but SO juicy and flavorful. Not to mention the chicken tenders are HUGE!! Whenever I think of a slider, I think of a cute little sandwich but these were soooo much bigger than I expected and I definitely couldn't eat two so thankfully my boyfriend came in clutch and ate the second one. We both really enjoyed them! The Coleslaw - seemed to be cream/mayo based which is not my fave. It was still pretty good though but I prefer a vinaigrette based slaw like they serve at Ricky's. The Buns - I'm almost positive that they are Martin's Potato Rolls, which are THE BEST. INSANELY SOFT AND FLUFFY with the perfect amount of sweetness. Absolutely LOVED THEM!!!!!!! So TLDR - honestly - I think all in all, the fries are the only place they have Ricky's beat. While the sandwich, as a whole was delicious, aside from the chicken and the bun, the other ingredients aren't strong enough to stand on their own - and that's where Ricky's has them beat. But hey, don't get me wrong, the food was still great and I'll absolutely be back! read more
