My wife and I went to Dave's Hot Chicken on a Sunday night to try it out. We had never been here before, and the staff at the counter was very helpful and patient with us explaining all of the options available and telling us about alternatives. I don't really like french fries so she gave us another choice or two for the combo meal, which was lovely. I ordered a medium spiced chicken, tender, and a hot one. The medium was tolerable for my wife and a little light on the spice for me and the hot one was way too hot for her and perfect for me after I got used to the heat. I'm not sure I could eat anything hotter than that on the menu. I would definitely return as the chicken was great quality. The breading was not too thick. And Dave's sauce is nice and a little bit cooling if things get too spicy. This is a good location and they keep it very nice and clean and the staff is helpful as mentioned previously. read more

We were very excited to try this place, but we found the food to be terrible. It's just chicken fingers coated and sauce. The service was horrible. There were teenagers working there and they seem to be way more interested in talking to each other and their friends that came in the restaurant then attending to customers that were waiting to order or waiting on orders that they'd already put in. I wanted to try this place I'd heard so much about it. First the staff was great they were friendly and helpful! Love the bright interior an cool upbeat vibe. It was busy! They have the good ice! lol I got a water cup full before I left to crunch on. The chicken was very moist and you could tell they marinated in hot sauce good flavor. I got mine with no spice so I really could check out how good the chicken really was. I did order my fries no salt. They do. Sprinkle a lot of seasoning salt on them as a older person. it's too much I did run into a friend that is older and I warned her so she got them regular and she took two bites and she said I can't eat these or my legs will be swollen so bad so they did remake her fries and give her fries with no seasoning on that so that was very good and I really enjoyed the fries without all the seasoning salt on them. The kale left something to be desired it didn't add or take away. I just tasted it on its own. I didn't feel the need to put it on the sandwich. I did have extra pickles. I think that is good. The Dave sauce is OK. It didn't give me that feeling of crave that's gonna make me go back again and again and again for that taste once I had it I was OK if I was with friends and they said hey we're gonna meet there I would go, but I don't see me craving saying oh I want some Dave's chicken. read more

Went today cause I was interested and the sliders weren't bad. I think if you like a comfortable heat then the hot level is good. The medium is pretty good mellow spice too. The food was juicy and I liked the portions. Kind of expensive, about $26 dollars after tip but pretty darn good customer service! This was a neat place. The place was packed at lunch time. We almost couldn't find a table to sit down at. They handed me one of the buzzers after I ordered. The girl I was with had her buzzer go off, and I thought I would be soon after. Several minutes passed and I was getting worried about my food. I walked up to the counter and I realized one of the girls had been calling an order number. I hadn't thought about checking the receipt because I had a buzzer and I've never not have a buzzer work. Well it was my order. Who knows how long she had been calling my order. The food wasn't terribly cold, but I'm more embarrassed than disappointed in the food. I apologized to the girl and said the buzzer never went off and I couldn't hear any number called. Had I known the buzzer wouldn't work, I would have listened for my number. The only positive was the cashier that ACTUALLY took our order. Even before we got to the register, the guy cashiering was very loudly cussing and yelling at the other employees about how he so badly needed to get off the register because he got off in 3 minutes, at 5pm (Aug 24). When we got to the register, he just walked away and began cussing and yelling at the 5 or so other employees who were behind the soda machine area just standing there. My pregnant wife and I were just standing at the register without being helped while 5-6 employees just stood around doing nothing but cussing and arguing at each other. Whoever this guy who left was, he should really be fired. Nearly 15 minutes later when we got our food, which we ordered to go, another guy just hands us the containers which are dirty and covered in seasoning without bags. This is just signs that everyone doesn't want to do their job and need to be retrained, especially at customer service. Who really just leaves a pregnant woman, who is hungry and trying to order food, unattended at a register?? Food was decent, service was crap. We went to try Dave's hot chicken to see what all the hype was about. Ordered hot chicken bites with fries and medium mini sliders with fries. Having owned a restaurant for 10 years I really know food quality and preparation techniques. Also did I mention I love Nashville Hot Chicken. This food was repulsive. The chicken is chopped and formed which is a mid to low level of quality. Essentially that means they took the less desirable parts of the chicken and formed them into a form. This is why their chicken is a bit squishy. The medium lacks flavor entirely and the hot became spicy at the end. The fries for both meals were cold considering it took 17 min from order to delivery of food which is slow considering the place was not busy. I kept having to ask for my food when I saw people that had ordered after me get their order. Whatever the hype was on this restaurant is falling flat on service, lame atmosphere and food quality. read more
