If you are looking for your car fix right the first time, look somewhere else. I first took our BMW to Dave's after a US Mail truck slid on ice and did minimal damage to my front bumper. They fixed it after a week, and the car looked perfect. A few months later, a large strap fell off a construction vehicle and hit the front of our BMW, causing significant damage to the grills and bumper on both the passenger, center and driver's side of the bumper. I took it back to Dave's, and they had it for about a week. I told them I was not in a rush, so take your time. They had the car done in about a week and called to tell me it was ready. I ran down their pick up the car, and brought it home. My wife looked at the car and said there are paint runs on both the left and right sides of the bumper. I called them right away, and he asked if I could bring it right back so he could look at it. The guy who looked at it saw the issue and said he was sorry and would need to have it repainted. It was scheduled a week later, and the car was completed about five days later. I went back to pick it up and found the owner (presumably) waiting for me. He said to me, "doesn't it look great?" and I said it did, but as I looked a little harder this time, I saw that it now had paint runs on the washer lens doors on the bummers. I told him it still wasn't right and showed him. He immediately got upset with me and told me I was being too picky. Sensing his hostility, I said to him that if he didn't want to do the work right, he shouldn't have excepted the work. We argued for about 20 more minutes, and then he said he could order the doors painted for about $15 each. I agreed and returned in a week when the parts arrived. He installed them in under five minutes and then asked whether we were good. I replied yes, we shook hands, and I left. At my next service, the dealer asked me if the car was hit, and it looked like one of the aux radiators was leaking. I told them it was, but they must have missed it. They covered it under warranty, so no big deal. Last night a deer ran in front of the car when my wife was driving home. I called my insurance company USAA, and they asked if I wanted to use Dave's again. I hesitated for a moment but remembered that I shook the man's hand and said we were good. Figuring everyone has a bad day once and a while. I took the car in this morning after calling for an appointment explained who I was, and the nice guy behind the desk said to bring it in. When I arrived, the guy behind the desk came out to look at the car, and we talked and reviewed the damage. Well, a minute later owner (presumably) came out and said, what is this doing here. I explained, and he replied, get it out of here. We will not work on it; we will not do work for you with all the hassle you gave us last time. I said, wait, you didn't do the job right the first time, and I'm the one who gave you a hassle. He didn't stick around as he kept walking away from me. I told him that I would be posting my experience with his shop online, and he is not a man of his word. So I guess it was my stupidity of giving him the benefit of the doubt. However, I'm a man of my word and thank you for reading. read more
