Dave's diner is an absolute throwback, honestly I wish there was more diners like this around, the service here was exquisite, the food was really good, the only thing I would say was their home fries needed some more flavor just add some salt and pepper and they were great, I also got a vanilla iced coffee to go and it was made to perfection. The establishment is very welcoming and it gives that nice throw back feeling, the checkerboard floors, the red seats with the blue on the countertops gives it that old feeling and I hope this place continues to thrive. read more

Stop by for lunch. Turkey dinner is excellent!! Hubby loved it! I had the SOS, Sausage gravy was SALTY. home fries were crisp but SALTY. First poached eggs were over cooked. I visited Dave's for the first time recently and can't wait to be in town again. I've got fried pickles on the brain!!! We started with the pickles because they're delicious and had no regrets! Crunchy, a little sour and big bite with each to dip these babies it, was deeeeelish! Next up was a huge turkey blt wrap with no, ladies and gentleman, no skimpy deli turkey here but hand carved actually turkey meat. The tasty whole wheat wrap was bursting with turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato with a tasty side of slaw. The portions at this place are massive but the prices, not at all! We hadn't been to Dave's Diner in years. We remember how great it was, with lines of people waiting to get inside, so much so that many times we gave up and had to go somewhere else for breakfast. We hadn't been out for breakfast in quite a while and we were going right past Dave's. So on the way home from the Cape we decided to try it, especially as it was a weekday and the lines should be a lot smaller waiting. The atmosphere is great there. All kinds of typical diner decorations create a enjoyable and nostalgic feeling. The service was always great and that didn't disappoint. We were waited on within minutes of sitting. However, that is where the praise ends. My husband and I checked out the menu and was surprised to see everything there had almost doubled in price from what we remembered. All restaurants have increased their prices since Covid but breakfast has traditionally been more reasonable. Hubby ordered eggs with hash and I got eggs with pork gravy over biscuits. At $15 and $14 a meal you would expect a decent plate. Not so. The hash was cold and obviously not cooked (it should be hot and crispy) and Hubby had to send it back. Came with homefries which were very plain and blah. My biscuits were not only very small but covered in a gravy which very obviously was some kind of chicken gravy. They had a lot of chicken dishes on the menu so maybe they just use the same gravy for everything but my disappointment could not have been greater. It was the worst breakfast we have ever had. Dave's Diner no more!!! You are paying for the atmosphere for sure but if the food sucks (which it did big time) it's not worth the trip. Just to add to our story, coffee was $3.50 per cup and it was watered down and weak. read more

I've been eating at Dave's diner since the year after it opened. The staff still has many of the original people still working there after over twenty years. That alone tells you something. The food the service and the atmosphere never changes no matter how busy it gets or where you sit. Grab a seat at the bar and watch them work. The place is a well oiled machine. I could go on forever about this place . The Fischer family has a couple places in town and they're all good spots. They really have it down to a science. I use to go in for lunch almost everyday and always finished it off with grape nut pudding. That was my go to dessert. I knew the menus by heart before the pandemic. Since then they reworked the menu a bit so I'm now eating my way through it so I can know it like I use to. Get the fried chicken! It rules. Or the pot pie another awesome pick. Just go and get some. I ate at Dave's tonight and was Very disappointed. My wife and I visit Dave's and Harry's quite often. Tonight I ordered a chicken wrap. As I was waiting for my order I noticed the cook spraying a cleaning agent on the stainless steel where orders were waiting to be picked up. I watched him spray the same stuff behind the counter then proceeded to make my wrap without changing gloves.. I figured I'd eat my wrap with a knife and fork but unfortunately the fork was filthy, I'm very surprised and disappointed. read more

I always get the same thing: the S.O.S which is two eggs (any way you like them) a generous portion of home fries and the winner of the entire dish, biscuits smothered in sausage gravy. Such a classic diner! If you are in the area, this is a great breakfast or burger stop. The decor is classic 50's diner, with rock and roll legends and other memorabilia plastered on the walls. It's a diner car including an outdoor patio. I often get a classic eggs and bacon breakfast, but the eggs with hash are always amazing. I can't say enough about the home made hash. You know it's home made when it's big chunks of tender roast mixed with potatoes and onions. The pancakes are enormous and muffins on the grill are amazing. Expect a classic diner experience complete with sassy waitresses seasoned line chefs. Something you will never get from the nearby chain restaurants. The portions a huge, so come hungry! read more

Ambiance ~ 4 Fits the feeling of the restaurant. Has what seems to be reproduction vintage signage on the walls. I don't recall any music playing or anything of that nature. Dave's Diner is a real treat. Been many many times and the foos consistently delicious, well-prepared and always delivered by the friendliest wait staff. Management has clearly "broken the code" to finding dedicated employees. My only suggestion: Grape Nut Pudding needs a recipe change. Cooked custard with moistened Grape Nuts sprinkled on top does not cut it...Dave you can do much better. Otherwise, highly recommend! read more

Delicious fresh blueberry muffins and good tasting coffee to start it all off...this place is a breakfast gem. The portions are a decent size and the service is quick. I ordered the hash which is finely shredded corned beef and potatoes...no fluff or extra spiciness that I find at most diners...just meat and potatoes with a hint of saltiness from the meat. The home fries are not my favorite, as they are very basic with not much flavor, but I think it's a matter of preference. Overall, we can't wait to come back. read more

Fun old school diner with all the shiny metal! Love the decor! Saturday morning breakfast and the place was hoppin. You have to wait in line for a table, there's no wait list. The line moved pretty fast, we waited approx 15 minutes. As soon as we were seated, the waitresses swooped in with coffee, silverware, mugs, etc. the coffee wasn't that great, but I liked the big mugs. Food came pretty quickly,....wasn't blown away., but it was hot and the pancake was nice and fluffy. read more

This is one of the cutest diners ever! I came here for dinner one night and loved it so much that I came for breakfast the next morning. The facility is super clean, and has that old school 1950's diner vibe. There's also a great outdoor seating area. The 1960's-1970's music they play throughout the place completes the vibe. Dave's Diner serves breakfast all day. I had the Westside Omelet which had onions, peppers, and ham, and it was the fluffiest omelet I've ever had! The home fries were seasoned great and had a little bit of a kick to them. My boyfriend had the French toast and enjoyed it, but wished there was a little more egg to it.
