One thing we've definitely learned while living in the Midwest is that bar-and-grill style restaurants are deeply woven into the dining culture here. Sioux Falls has many places with this sort of atmosphere, and honestly, we've adapted fairly well to it even though it differs a lot from some of the larger-city dining scenes we were used to previously. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't quite work for us. We ordered steak, jambalaya, and buffalo wings. The steak, despite being ordered medium rare, came out drier than we would have liked and lacked much distinctive flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't memorable either. The jambalaya was probably the biggest disappointment of the evening. It was overwhelmingly salty to the point where it became difficult to really enjoy the dish underneath the seasoning. The buffalo wings were acceptable enough, but again, they also leaned dry. Service was understandably stretched because of how busy the restaurant was, though the staff themselves seemed to be working hard under the pressure. Overall, this simply wasn't quite our cup of tea in terms of either the food or the atmosphere. I can understand why it appeals to many locals looking for a lively Friday night gathering spot, but for us personally, it probably isn't somewhere we'd return to. A 2 out of 5 from us.
