They didn't require a deposit to hold it, just said they can run the financing check for pre approval and then hold the car. Fine, yep, no big deal. We asked if we could have the Ford dealership across the street for a 139 pt inspection on it (most of my gripe is with them on this deal). Southwest said absolutely, no problem, drove it over for us, we got the report from Ford and said it would Need new tires eventually and had a few "wear and tear scratches". Husband calls the technician to verify the "scratches" that had failed the inspection and was assured it was just "normal wear and tear". We fly down to Denver, drove to Pueblo only to see that not only did the car have visible damage, but one panel the damage included a dent. The Ford technician had passed the "Dents" portion with no notes. The sales person was apologetic and asked if we couldn't see those in the listing photos. My husband pulled up the listing photos on his laptop and there was absolutely no way we would have seen them from the photos (hence why we took it to Ford! F*ckers). The manager came out and told us he couldn't go much lower on the car but could take $500 off OR offer to show us other cars on the lot. I'm good. Thanks. Whole thing felt dishonest. Takeaway, do a thorough body check and maybe ask for a FaceTime video or something to look at the body of the car before traveling to look at one. Alpine Ford will get my next review after screwing me out of $320 for a sh*t "inspection". Note- the car is back listed on their website and the SAME pictures are on the website. At least disclose the damage and be honest about it.

Before Subaru of Pueblo, we'd been to a slew of dealerships and had almost as many negative experiences. I am very happy to report that we had the best ever car buying experience here. They were courteous and helpful without being overly pushy or salesy. They were efficent and honest. We walked out of their dealership with fair price we wanted to pay with all of the repairs we requested they make and a lower interest rate than we expected on our loan. A hot tip I recommend for non-Pueblo car shoppers who may be buying in Pueblo: if there's a car you love, negotiate price over email before driving down there. We didn't do this on a car we looked at in Dillion and it was really disappointing to get there and find out the dealer wasn't willing to negotiate price. Here, we negotiated price before coming down to see/drive it so if it was the car we wanted to buy, we knew it was already what we wanted to pay. Makes the 100 mile trek a bit more tolerable!

There, coming down the stairs is Fuzzy!! C'mon, who doesn't want to work with a salesperson named Fuzzy?? I think that sealed it for us lol. Pros: Fuzzy was awesome. He reminds me of a grandpa (in a good way) with tons of stories to be told. All from memory. We told him our budget and what our monthly payments would have to be at or under. His response? "Sure! Let me show you a few vehicles that can work in your range." Umm, did I just hear that from a salesperson??? No, it can't be. He must have saw someone else before us or maybe rehearsed it? Can't be sure. Ok, back to reviewing. He showed me three vehicles, three is a good number. I won't be so overwhelmed now, I hope. He talked about each vehicle like he read up and without missing a beat tell me why I should like it. Oh, did I mention I needed a vehicle with at least 30 mpg highway, an auto (yea yea, all you snickering 'cause I can't drive a manual), and a sedan with a big backseat to comfortable have a lab lay down. Fuzzy made all three of those cars meet my needs. Extremely happy with how he handled all of our questions with ease, plus some questions of his own. He happily asked if I wanted a test drive, oh heck yes! Put me on the highway and I'm good. He even told me how to get back to the lot, my own navigator. Otherwise I'd still be driving around Pueblo trying to find my way back. Thanks Fuzzy. Once we decided the sale would close, we told him that I found them on Yelp. Then I had to explain what Yelp was, not uncommon. The cool thing was that we met the previous owner Traci (sp?). He gave us why he liked and didn't like the vehicle. Ok, no problem. We even met the two owners, Ryan and Doug who knew what Yelp is!! Kudo points to you two. Only a handful of people know. Totally friendly guys. I didn't feel like I was being taken for a ride, minus the pun, or being forced to buy a car. It was easy going and a great experience. Cons: Sorry guys but there can't just be all pros. Well yes there can. But it's only a minor con :). And more of an FYI to future buyers, they do not have a large lot or a lot of vehicles like your used to seeing at the larger used car dealers. But that's also what makes this place unique and better in my opinion. Recommended? Definitely.
