My car broke down on Memorial day on my way home. The transmission quit working and my car was…read moretowed to Better Rate. The shop was closed at that time, so I left my key along with a note for the mechanics so they would know what happened, along with my name and phone number. My car was at the shop for nearly a full month while I kept being told they were 'putting in on the lift.' The charge was first going to be less than a thousand dollars, but after some weeks, the owner said the differential was shot and the price would be sixteen hundred. I had no choice but to agree because I needed the car. More time went by with no calls, no information unless I or my daughter called them, only to be told that the car would be ready in a couple of days. We were told that multiple times, but each time, no response, no car. Finally, the owner told me that the problem was broken motor mounts and that he had driven the car and it made a thumping, bumping sound and would break a 'rod' they had put in. He told me that they were going with a different supplier. But after that, he said that his mechanics knew the motor mounts were broken after they had replaced the 'rod' two or three times with the mounts broken. Finally the car was ready and it cost me more than 2100, while he said he didn't charge me any labor. On the barely readable receipt, it listed 140 charge for *oil.* 900 for the differential. After I got my car returned, it was filthy with huge bird dropping on the back. And when I began cleaning things up, I found items missing...ten different pieces of my property. I notified the business that I wanted these things returned. The business denied any knowledge of the items going missing, although when an employee called, one item I had not listed was named. I had given the business until July 1 to either return my property or pay me an acceptable amount. Neither has happened as yet, although the owner finally said, via his employee, that someone would bring by the amount I requested in cash. So, here I am. Without my property, tools, jack, windshield screen, several pairs of expensive sun glasses, and no money to make it right. They claimed to not be responsible and then claimed homeless people must have taken my things. The car wasn't broken into, so whoever removed my property did so through an unlocked door. And the "driving" done used up as much fuel as a week of taking my daughter to work and home. I informed the business that I would write a review. Now he should keep his word. My car is working, but they want me to take it in to check for leaks. I don't think so.

Since July I have taken my truck back 6 times. This was supposed to be a transmission rebuild. $6870.00 later still doesn't work correctly. Jim keeps asking for another chance to look at it again. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. My batteries that were bought in March were not in the truck when I got it back and I found this out because my batteries were dead today. Called Jim he said his guys didn't touch the batteries but the ones that I pulled out were from 6/21. I will be moving my business to a reputable shop. Sorry after 20+ years never thought it would be this way. Now it is time to consult with legal counsel after his son's bantering.

After we left Tian Jin with the evidence we went back to the shop to confront her with pictures of…read morethe receipts and of the security camera footage as well as video. She still denied any involvement and instead blamed her daughter for using the wrong debit card info that she swore she never wrote down. We pointed out that the flaw in her explanation was that she used MIL's name. That unless her daughter forgot her own mother's name, she was lying. You could realistically give the wrong CC number if you have several written down on a piece of paper but who would accidentally give a stranger's name if they are using their mother's card to pay and why would you sign anyone else's name but yours if your intentions were honest? We left it at that. Our jeep was in pieces. We had no choice but to leave it with them and wait for the repairs to be done. To add to the ridiculousness, the entire time she was denying any involvement we could partly see from the front desk that her employees were eating the food that they bought with MIL's CC in the break room out back. Fast forward to today. We filed a police report and the cops accompanied us to the shop to pickup the Jeep. She told the cops the same story but with the evidence we showed and the fact that she intentionally used and signed MIL's name, they made her pay us back the $52 in cash. It was the principle of the matter. Her husband sarcastically made mention that we couldn't press any charges anyway but the police officer corrected him that we could 100% file fraud charges against her and that he is lucky that we weren't. MIL will most likely be undergoing surgeries and months of recovery for her foot and decided she couldn't handle that and court and figure out how to live without being able to work so she accepted the cash and just wanted to get her jeep out of there. Unfortunately for Irma, she had a misdemeanor warrant in El Paso county and the police took her in and arrested her anyway. Moral of the story: take your business elsewhere.
