I'm from Southern Arizona. This is Real Mexican food. Don't be fooled by any other places!!! I promise!! I eat the green salsa with a spoon but it's not for everyone keep in mind it's the flavors. It was our first night in Destin, and we were looking for something quick to eat. We walked in and look at the board and decided we would go somewhere else, thinking it was more like a chipotle. Fortunately, as we were leaving one of the locals stopped us at the door and told us the food. There was amazing. He said it was our favorite spot to come for Mexican. We were on our way back to Texas from Key West and stopped for two days in Destin. We found this place on Yelp and with the great reviews, decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. I got a fish taco and a shrimp taco. The shrimp taco had at least 5-6 medium sized shrimp and the tastiest sauce. The fish taco was equally as good and honestly, one of the best fish tacos I've ever had (with the exception of the fish tacos at the Salty Frog in Key West). Both tacos were served piping hot, the tortillas were soft and warm and all of the ingredients were very fresh. My brother ordered the fajita nachos and said the meat was great and the tortilla chips tasted like they're made on the premises and were light and crispy. My only regret is I live on the west coast and will have to wait until the next time I'm in Destin to eat there again. I feel ridiculously lucky that we have a west coast verified burrito spot. They even have the salsa table with the pickled carrots so you know it's authentic. Part of me wishes I could keep this place a secret but we need this place to stay open. If you like burritos and authentic Mexico, this just became the first-in-line spot to go to. We had The Cali burrito and rolled quesadilla. They comped us some chips as we waited for the food (2-3 minutes) so that was totally unexpected. Decor is on point too. Just go eat here! Don't believe the 5 star ratings. I ordered their burrito and it had maybe 6 -7 pieces of chicken in it and was mostly rice and beans. It was salty and there was an ant crawling on my plate. You're better off going to chipotle. Especially for the price of their burrito at $15. If you don't believe me try it for yourself you'll leave feeling ripped off. read more

This place is like Baja Fresh, but way better. Very much like what you get from the best street taco trucks and West Coast taquerias. They also have a salsa bar with three salsas, and two types of relishes. We ordered chips and queso also and the chips were tasty and fresh and the queso was very flavorful. Dat Burrito Place is brand new to destin and doesn't disappoint! Everyone is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. Me and my girlfriend got a Dat burrito with chicken and steak and was delicious. The salsa bar is yummy and pairs really well with the burrito. The only thing I recommend is including a little bit of chips with the burritos as it's a bit pricey for just the burrito and I wouldn't mind dipping the chips into those fantastic salsas. We stopped in for lunch and we were glad we did. Small little place in a strip mall. You order at the counter and they bring you food to you. It would have been the perfect lunch spot, except the portions are huge! Way too much for a lunch, but everything was very good. We got the rolled quesadillas, steak, they were very good (4.5 )A couple of our group got the Dat Burrito, one steak and one chicken, both good (4 ). One of us got the Quesabirra Tacos (4 ). We also got the Rolled Tacos, chicken (4 ). They also have a free salsa bar. We enjoyed Dat Burrito Place, and would definitely stop in for lunch again. The staff was great for us too. Very disappointed we ordered them on uber eats. We were missing chips and salsa and didn't get any sauces we requested on each item and ordered extra in the description for our tacos. So we ate tacos with no sauce at all. Whoever puts together the orders need to check before it's sent out and also how could you miss the big notes on the ticket on the outside of the bag requesting the sauces.
